If u didnt select any of the mode (eco or power) then gear shift indicator wont lit up. if ur bike is in brake in time, then its better to run in eco mode.

The decimals are only visible on the trip meters and not the odometer.Originally posted by rharish90 View PostGot the bike yesterday evening. Got a tank cover, crash guard, saree guard with foot rest, handle bar grip and indicator buzzer for free. The delivery was hassle free and quick. The mechanic explained the features once again and advised to keep the tyre pressure at 25 for front and 40 for rear. However the manual says 25/35. I will stick to the manual!
Then did the usual pooja and filled up 15 liters for fuel. First time in my life I am filling up more than 10 liters of fuel
It is a very very smooth bike. The gear shifting is a bit hard between the 2nd and 3rd gears but that is OK. It will get smoothed after a bit of usage. As everyone said already, I am getting a "big" bike feel in this and I like it.
The odo now reads 50 KM and not 50.0 KM. Does this mean the normal odo does not have a decimal and will use all the 6 digits? Wow! It will not get reset upon reaching a lakh! That is my guess. How do I find out? Ride to a lakh
The Eco or Power mode or the light to show its time for a gear shift didnt come up. Any ideas why?
About the shift indicator, does the console display which mode it is in? ECO or PWR?
OT, what made you drop the R15?In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

Limit the tire pressure to 25/33 or 25/35 psi. Over inflation causes skidding.Originally posted by rharish90 View PostThe mechanic explained the features once again and advised to keep the tyre pressure at 25 for front and 40 for rear. However the manual says 25/35. I will stick to the manual!

Refer page 2-9 of the manual to know how to enable it.

Ya man. I saw that it is getting displayed in the trip meters. I always wondered why 2 wheelers never had the luxury of 6 digit odometers. This might be the answer!Originally posted by kripscorp View PostRegarding ODO, decimal wont be shown. but in both trip meters, decimal will be displayed.

I dropped R15 because I cannot take a pillion who sits on one side. I do not like the forward leaning riding posture and most importantly I am 6 foot 3 and nearly 100 KG. So R15 rejected.Originally posted by vikhyath View PostThe decimals are only visible on the trip meters and not the odometer.

Thanks man. I shall refer the page. Regarding the tyre pressure, yes I shall stick to the manual.Originally posted by punarvasu View PostLimit the tire pressure to 25/33 or 25/35 psi. Over inflation causes skidding.

Can someone help me with the below dilemma:
GS Electrical specs:
12V 7AH battery.
Headlight is 12V 35/35W.
Avenger Electrical specs:
12V, 9Ah battery.
Headlight is 12V 60/55W.
Can i have the Avenger Headlight on my GS. Will the battery on the GS support it along with standard tail lamp/horn/indicators.

You are changing the headlight bulb to 55/60watts by this. Avenger is a full DC bike but in GS headlight is powered by AC from a separate tap in the RR.Originally posted by fadeawayraj View PostAvenger Electrical specs:

As you are not increasing the load on the battery, it will go on without any problems.
Trying to increase the wattage of headlight bulb with our stock coil and RR is fruitless. Instead, try to find out a headlight with more focusing reflector or convert the bike to full DC and fit a 55/60 watt Osram NB or Philips X-treme Vision bulb as some of us have already done.

@Punarvasu: Thank you for the inputs.
Chorry, i should have told the full story. Here i go:
I am not trying to do this mod for having more output BUT i just love those good old round dome, hence.
So i will see the output and if possible i will change over to 35/35W.
Thanks again Punarvasu.

You might have to get the holders for the dome welded on. But the stock electricals are insufficient to support the high power bulb and low power bulbs don't provide the required illumination at night.Originally posted by fadeawayraj View PostCan someone help me with the below dilemma:

I hope you have accuratly got the FE, if is true than this is a remarkable . as per my 6000 km experience 4500 - 5200 rpm in 6th gear gives best F.E , its difficult to maintain this speed ... patience you knowOriginally posted by gmagesh14 View Post13200 kms done so far and after a long back tried to achieve approximately 59 kmpl from my bike (296kms for 5lts of fuel).,

Avenger is much larger bike i guess its 200 - 220 cc powered , so may support larger generator ( AC or DC), ours is 150cc . pls try to find whether pulsar 150 cc has same specs.Originally posted by fadeawayraj View PostCan someone help me with the below dilemma:
