True. All GSs are fitted with “FIAMM By MINDA” 2 ampere dual horns. No complaints are heard about these horns and replacing is rare.

Armor All is one of the best shampoo and waxe available here. I was using Formula 1 shampoo and wax for the first few months but due to the unavailability of original, changed to Armor All. Their “High Performance Wax & Polish is equally good. Collinite 845 is heard to be a very good product.
Teflon polish used in SCs contains no Teflon (Polytetrafluoroethylene). They are polishing the bike with Dupont Auto Polish and buffing machine and it is as good as any other polish but some SCs are levying huge amount for it. Here in my town the SC is doing it for Rs. 350/- with two other free polishing.
No polish or wax is causing scratches on the bike. Nor it does cause fading of the color.
Use any good shampoo and wax and try to park the bike in shade.Last edited by punarvasu; 04-15-2012, 01:15 AM.

Did 14th Paid service today at 27900kms....
while making job card, supervisor at SVC insisted me to do engine flush and telling me it will clean the engine from inside... i replied him that i don't put dust, mud inside the engine so no need to clean it
.. but he denied and told me its compulsory once the bike crossed 25k kms so i simply asked him to show where is it written in manual
...
later he asked me mileage of bike and I told him 55-60 then again he come up with a new product "mileage booster"
and started telling me once you put this booster inside the the tank, you can expect a 10-15kmpl increase in mileage
I shouted him in hard words that is he wanted to do service or not else i am leaving... he understood i am not a fool to spend 500 buks for a engine flush and mileage boosters and said "Sir baaki aapki marji" my reply was like "chu***a bananeke dhande bas karo abhi"...
Why this guys making customers to buy all this crap products?? I know they are getting huge income on selling this products but they should do outside the SVC and Suzuki India should find a solution for this... just because of this stuff, Suzuki two wheeler owner thinks vehicle is high on maintenance side which indirectly reduces market demand..
phew all this aside bike got serviced really well, Changed oil and oil filter, cleaned air filter, battery water topup, sparkplug clean(in a plug cleaning machine), Chain/brake adjusted and lubricated, swing arm overhauling,Tappet adjusted..
last but not the least washed the bike and it was ready to rock n roll again...
bill come to just Rs. 400 including the price of oil and oil filter(Rs. 255)
...

It happens in many ASS not just in Suzuki ASS, at last aim of the dealer is profit where they are trying their own tricks...Originally posted by Jayantnarangkar View PostDid 14th Paid service today at 27900kms....

Engine flushing and selling mileage increasing potions are not with the consent of Suzuki. The greedy dealers are getting 250-300 or more percent profit for selling this kind of liquids (see how brilliantly one of those idiots used xBHP itself to propagate it and how he was defeated) and its cost is never included in the original bill which is audited by the company.Originally posted by Jayantnarangkar View PostDid 14th Paid service today at 27900kms....

But the so called ‘Teflon coating’ which is harmless to the bike is allowed and that is why they are exhibiting the notice about it in the SC.
Congratulations for the rigid stand you have taken in this subject and, if possible, try to bring these anomalies to the notice of the company. If done so, the SC will surely have to reply for it.Last edited by punarvasu; 04-15-2012, 02:46 AM.

Today I had an uncle riding a scooter skid spectacularly thanks to mid-day showers in the middle of the road coming from in the opposite direction and luckily I was able to brake well enough to avoid hitting him. Also, there was a dispensary right next to where the accident took place and I helped him there and it appeared as if he had only minor bruises considering how badly he skidded.
Regarding the bike mileage however, I am getting ~45kmpl only regardless of keeping rpm under 5k and riding on highways and this is really annoying me more than anything else regarding its performance

Acutually i had an AMC with that svc so they don't charge for a paid service in bill as they already took Rs. 1000 for 6 services...Originally posted by MSN1 View PostEven at my local mechanic the service charge comes around 700 so 400 is damn cheeper sir.
That Rs.400 are for oil and filter 255, consumables 35, tappet adustment 100 and remaining 20 taxes...

Check the air pressure everyday. Try to shift around 3-3.5k RPM and see if you get a rise. What is the average speed you maintain?Originally posted by chiron View PostToday I had an uncle riding a scooter skid spectacularly thanks to mid-day showers in the middle of the road coming from in the opposite direction and luckily I was able to brake well enough to avoid hitting him. Try to find out from where the oil is leaking. Probably may be from the oil drain bolt. Tighten it slightly but do not over tighten.Originally posted by chiron View PostBtw, there oil stains on the floor where I park my bike. iirc those weren't there in the first few months. Is this normal or can it be fixed?

As punarvasu said check the drainer bolt....if there is no leakage there then might be its the excess oil from the chainOriginally posted by chiron View Post^^ 60-65kmph on highways.

You just did the fantastic job, SC has no authority to take or suggest such decission's , they avoid some serious complaints if within free services and try to insist putting those unnecessary chemicals , which costs . It is worse in other brand 's like honda for instant they forcefully put these liquids , slap those heavy bills on helpess customers for no reasons.Originally posted by Jayantnarangkar View PostDid 14th Paid service today at 27900kms....

Using good fuel and changing engine oil at regular intervals is best way.

Modified!!!
Hi Guys,
Wanted to give a report on the after-mod ride of my GS.
I got a bigger bore+Cylinder head modification done by Joel Joseph two weeks back. Was asked to do a 500 KM run-in so that the engine can settle. After that, Went back to Joel and got the Carburetor Jet changed as the engine was coughing a lot. Now no more coughing.
Now for the Difference.
Where before the throttle was really sluggish, Now it behaves like a beast that is raring to go. Throttle opens really quick and you can feel the effect on the speedo. Top speed i hit was 121 with 9k rpm on 6th gear. Am sure it will go beyond that as well. But I ran out of road. Now you may say that 121 is not a very high speed, but what matters here is the distance it took to hit that speed. So i guess i am happy with my bike. From a 149 CC engine, now i have about a 178 CC engine, So I have the additional power if i ever require it. Overall 2 weeks after the mods..AM A happy guy!!!!
I also test rode the bike with Manu Bhat from this thread who also has a GS. He also felt the difference.
So overall, Thanks Joel for your work. Hope all goes well.KM
