Lol I heard that your bike now has that RTR like throttle response? Is it so? That is a total awesome feature that every bike should have.

Then it must be difficult to have proper navigation during riding, I mean if you couple it with weather conditions... sunny, rainy.

Conditions are ideal within closed environment like Car etc...

          However, I like it dude...

Wanted to give a report on the after-mod ride of my GS.

I got a bigger bore+Cylinder head modification done by Joel Joseph two weeks back. Was asked to do a 500 KM run-in so that the engine can settle. After that, Went back to Joel and got the Carburetor Jet changed as the engine was coughing a lot. Now no more coughing.

            Now for the Difference.

Where before the throttle was really sluggish, Now it behaves like a beast that is raring to go. Throttle opens really quick and you can feel the effect on the speedo. Top speed i hit was 121 with 9k rpm on 6th gear. Am sure it will go beyond that as well. But I ran out of road. Now you may say that 121 is not a very high speed, but what matters here is the distance it took to hit that speed. So i guess i am happy with my bike. From a 149 CC engine, now i have about a 178 CC engine, So I have the additional power if i ever require it. Overall 2 weeks after the mods..AM A happy guy!!!!

I also test rode the bike with Manu Bhat from this thread who also has a GS. He also felt the difference.

So overall, Thanks Joel for your work. Hope all goes well.
Congrats buddy...It was nice to ride your GS180R A big difference in acceleration, the throttle response and a slight difference in sound..
I feel that its like an RTR minus the vibes after getting it Joel'D..A bigger rear Sprocket and a 29mm Carb would do wonders to the top speed and power delivery

Yes,the first cylinder head mod was on my "Baby Gixxer" and am happy with my bike..
Never argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and then beat you with experience.

              • Fall in love again....

                Hi friends,
The Background: I was a proud lover of Suzuki Fiero for last 10 years, and my baby was as lovely as it was when I met her first time...
The Twist in the love story: Recently, some 'pados' ki 'aunti' has commented on our Fiero baby which started looking a little old. As expected my wife has started pushing me to change the bike. Alas! I have to start looking for a worthy successor of Fiero.
Thought Process: The first thing I have done was that I have started rediscovering myself....e.g. What type of person am I, Why do I need a motorcycle, What are my riding habits, What are my biking priorities. The next step was to find, what I was looking for....
The search begins: But the Fiero was my first love, who has set its own benchmarks, and, the new bike need to qualify a no. of 'AGNI PARIKSHA' to meet my expectations. So, I have spent last 2 months in meticulously examining each bike through various sources e.g. Test rides, Internet search, Owner's feedback, reviews, comparisons, analysis... etc.. here are my one liners foe each
                1. Pulsar 150: 80% Marketing, 20% quality.
                2. Yamaha FZ: Only beauty but no brains.
                3. CBZ Xtreme: purely arranged marriage; has everything else but the 'love' is missing.
                4. Hunk: Better Keep Iodex in tool box for long rides.
                5. Karizma/R15: Vo rahne wali mahalon ki....Simply Out of reach
                6. KTM: Made for only College dudes, and not for 'shadishuda' log like me.
                7. Unicorn: Sweet, silent, docile like girl next door...but, wearing the same jeans/top for last 5 years...
                8. Suzuki GS 150R: Let the KIDS play in STREET, the MEN are made for EXPEDITIONS...

Finally.... I have married (sorry, guys I mean motorcycle only and not another Girl...mujhe marna hai kya..). to GS 150R last week. Completed 250 kms so far, and eveytime I start the engine.....it simply makes me 'smile'...

"Chalta hai to bas 'chalta' hi hai...Suzuki nahi hai...."

" With Bigger Bike, comes the bigger responsibility"...
Gotta go for work....I WILL BE BACK....

                          • My GS generates lot of current

                            Hello Friends,

As you all know, I have done the stator rewinding and replaced with APE RR. Now the charging system works like a charm. No Battery drain even while using 55 watts headlight all time...

suggest me some more electric components that I can add to my bike to make use of the extra current...

                            • An Update

Completed 900+ km on GS in 2 weeks. Did my first service a few days back. A few updates.

                              1. Gear Shift is smooth now, as expected.
                              2. I was under the impression that fuel tank capacity is 15.5 L. Yesterday I asked for a full tank fill at shell, and to my surprise they filled 19 L and still some space was left.
                              3. After the sevice i took it to 95kmph and the bike felt rock solid. it was at arond <7k rpm. I slowed down as I'm not supposed to rev it above 7.5k rpm till 1600km on odo.
                              4. Small vibrations are present in gear lever after 5k rpm. Service guy told me that it is normal and will disappear after 2000kms only. Is it so?
                              5. When I took the test ride, the only thing that I didn't like was the engine sound. But now, Exhaust note got my attention and I'm loving it
                              6. The big bike feel it gives is worth mentioning. After riding GS, all other bike in this category would appear small

Now about service: Service was mostly ok, except a few problems.
                              1. I had asked them to check front suspension. They did that, but they changed back suspension setting. One side is in medium setting & on thre other side it is in soft. Both shoyld be set to same setting right? How to change that now.
                              2. After cleaning they applied some kind of oily material over the bike, which I didn't like. It attracted all the dust in Bangalore and I had to clean again after reaching home.

Apart from this all other things were taken care of, like adjusting front suspension, changing idle rpm, oil & oil filter change etc.

Now some pics of my beast taken in my crappy mobile cam

Do you know what oily substance was applied on the bike? It is the first time we hear about such a thing.
