Wow gulf oil is really too smooth.
@ arul hope you got the replacement bike.
@augustine
Many service centers are good at doing water wash only.
Before taking delivery its our duty to test drive and ensure all the reported issues are fixed because you are the one who pays
@sivatpt
Any way polish the outcome is based on how you polish it.
Have you tried teflon coating ?
Before doing wax polishing I used to wash it, clean it once after it get dried then apply the polish with a sponge then take a cloth and polish it with mild pressure
Am using waxpol its just 50 bucks and okay
We have polish available from 30 buck to 1500+ bucks

Use any polish-you need to do it correctly&the bike will shine like new.Originally posted by sivatpt View PostHey guys,
I am from Bangalore, I want to make my bike look like new one. so can u guys suggest me which wax polish i have to take or is there any other shine polish.
If you go for a polishing treatment like 3M/Autoglym etc., the shine stays for a few months, in case of normal polishes its gone with the next wash.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Formula 1 CARNAUBA WASH & WAX shampoo and Formula 1 CARNAUBA CAR WAX (both made in U. S. A) are good and reliable. But while buying the shampoo, make sure that it is original. The original is a thick, oily liquid. Shake the bottle well and there will be a few bubbles formed in and over the liquid. The duplicate when shook will produce more bubbles as shaking soapy water. The shampoo (473 ml) costs about Rs. 200/- and the wax (230 gm) Rs. 250/-. The cost of the duplicate shampoo will be lesser.Originally posted by sivatpt View PostHey guys,

Also, Savajith may be correct. I have heard of these products, but haven’t used them.Last edited by vishnukmd; 12-09-2010, 01:42 PM.

There is a thread on Polishes also! Maybe you can refer that as well to judge authenticity of the product.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostFormula 1 CARNAUBA WASH & WAX shampoo and Formula 1 CARNAUBA CAR WAX (both made in U. S. I have no doubt about the authenticity of these products. I have heard that the products you mentioned are good but are not available in my nearest town. My search for synthetic oil too was in vein. I live in a remote village, far away from cities and even towns.
Regards.

That's not just what I was saying-there are many other brands mentioned there too, so it will help.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostSarvajit,

And the point mentioned by you is very much valid-there are many duplicates of the Formula 1 Wax polish available, somebody mentioned some color difference also in that thread.
I stick to the good old WaxPol. I rub it hard&make my bikes shine.
Where do you live btw? Which oil are you looking for? I guess someone on the Engine Oils thread may be able to help out.Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Wow this thread has gone leaps and bound since I last checked in ..... Good to see so many followers of GS ..... How many owners are there now BTW ..... and who has clocked the max ......... Just for the record ..... I have clocked 22000 till now, with every single service on time and I have yet to face any issue what so ever, electrically, technically or other wise ........ my turn indicator knob went a bit hard recently which was oiled by the service man and thats about all I have faced as far as problem is concerned, and yes changed the brake shoe as well ........... rest things are fine.....continue with the thread and best of luck to the people just going for the bike ..... GS ROCKS!!!!!
Any questions one might want to ask after 22000KM is most welcome .....
PS :: I am the thread owner BTW .... :-)

welcome back to Sam
@ Sam, the thread owner,
Its great to know you are back here in the thread,
Its the initial few pages where you, the shadowfax, abhi and some others' extensive info on Gsr made me to zero in on the awesome bike. I thank you for that.
@ Bubbly,
I think and hope the sweet moments you spent with Gsr will be in your mind for years to come

As a 22k old bike how is your gs breaths (engine and silencer sound ) in comparison with the first 10k and now?
And our indian usual question whatsoever the mileage are you getting. Now?
So their is no rust or mist on your gs tank?
We are missing you for such a long time where are you this many days busy with gs?

Broken collar bone must have hurt bad.Originally posted by Bubbly View PostI had 3 accidents with this bike

Bad luck there. I dont know about mothers but an accident per year is not too bad in my books man.
Had a bit of a serious accident just 3 days after getting my gsr. Luckily only my pride was hurt badly.....the bike took a beating though. Had to replace silencer and brake pedal. My mom was worried sick about this "omen". But its just not easy for me to think about selling this babe. I might not be careful enough of a rider but its easier to think that my bike just doesnt like me very much.....lol
Thats how moms work right?
Anyway, better luck with the HHH. Hope you only make the ladies fall.

@ sam9s: Good to hear from one of the very first brave souls that took a leap of faith on the gsr. Just one question man. How did you break the bike in? hard, soft, manual or mixed? Because Im feeling I might have treated my bike a bit harshly and am wondering how its going to retaliate in the future if not already.Last edited by 2strokerama; 12-09-2010, 11:17 PM.
