OFC you are the thread owner and hence its an earnest request on my part to please check this thread regularly,I wondered if I would ever be able to converse with the very first owner of a GS on the Xbhp.

So how is your GS doing now ???

I havent yet clocked the max kilometres on my bike as its only 5 months old,but I have surely clocked max speed of the bike and the highest speedo indication I had was of 127kmph

Here are some experiences from my GS150R,which you might like..........would love to have you here more often

The thread started by you is the biggest in the 150cc air-cooled Ownership segment here at Xbhp now, contributing members who needs mention are Anupdas,Akfara,MSN1 mostly............along with this numerous others like Maestro,Sameer, myself and all the GSpian and co. we all are passionate about this thread and try to inculcate the same passion in all the new and prospective buyers. Thanks for starting this thread. You are undoubtedly the best GSpian.(you dared to go for the bike, when no one even trusted it )

I came to know about a smart young man who was a student of a very reputed engineering institute in India. He was selected through campus recruitment by an MNC and was supposed to join duty in Germany within a few days. 4 days before his journey, he and his friends planned a celebration party in a beach resort. He was riding a hired bike and while returning went to hit a car, escaped and after a few seconds skidded and fell down, hitting his head on the road. The driver of the car, who was witnessing it, told me that this young man was in over speed and he has scolded him. He was in comma for 3 days and died. You may have heard about this tragic incident. It was a meaningless death. Can you imagine the agony of his parents and siblings?

Ride carefully and avoid unnecessary dashing. None is interested in your bike stunts. If anyone pretends to appreciate it or try to encourage you, he is not your trustworthy friend. He is making you a jackass.

It is not meant that you are driving recklessly. Take it in a general sense.

      Wish you all the best.

As a 22k old bike how is your gs breaths (engine and silencer sound ) in comparison with the first 10k and now?
And our indian usual question whatsoever the mileage are you getting. Now?
So their is no rust or mist on your gs tank?
We are missing you for such a long time where are you this many days busy with gs?
          Season greeting
GS is still breathing with full confidence ...... the engine and silencer sound, believe me is exactly same as it was say after 1st service (800km), the pick and ride smoothness is same...... no changes ...... About the mileage, I'd say I went pretty lucky in this regard, the way I drive (which is pretty aggressive) I have not gone below 50kmpl in any driving conditions. I have read few got as low as 40, which was kinda hard for me to believe ........
And yes no rusting what so ever ... :-)

Because Im feeling I might have treated my bike a bit harshly and am wondering how its going to retaliate in the future if not already.
not sure what you mean here ..... maybe a too technical question for me .... layman terms plzzz.... :-)

Well said man what you said just reminds my golden days on rx100

even I got involved in typical fatal accidents during my teen age on my rx later at one stage I realised and think of why I raced towards those three digit numbers and those stupid stunts without a single protective gear.

Most of us had that racy attitude during teenage, am also one among those who wont listen to others and realise the fault till getting hurt hard or till getting a long careing advice from the girl for whom he performed the so called speedy stunts.

In my case the second thing happened

Well said .... though in my case, age happened which brought the needed maturity .... I still got in to an accident with my GS driving at just 40kmph, curtsey the other teen biker ... ...... though GS was not hurt, I had to get 8 stitches on the upper part of my left knee ......

              • @ vishnukmd: Dude, you have half a point....driving carefully at all times is a must. Parents should be worried about this. But what difference does getting a new bike make? Id ride the new bike the same way as the old one. id agree to the parents 'safety first' arguement if they downgraded from the 150cc gsr to say some jujbi 100cc or some shitty scooty or bicycle....but if they just buy a replacement bike in the same class, whats the point of replacing the bike other than some superstitious peace of mind? In effect, how would that decision be the correct one? Id say if Im prone to accidents, better to correct my riding methods to a more anticipatory one than just buying a new bike and blaming the old one.

@bubbly: no offense man. By above stuff, I dont mean you're a bad rider....I mean ive never seen you drive, so no comment . But I know how circumstances coupled with uncertainties and superstitions can be. Im just making an objective point, thats all...no family drama stuff.

@mach50: dude, one of your flashback links just made me cry in joy man. I felt the same way when I saw my blue black baby in sunlight for the first time....that awesome indescribably beautiful dark blue flowing into an equally amazing lighter shade of blue or green....bluegreen! One of the best shades Ive ever seen on a bike. Coupled with its shapely figure, Im so damn awestruck by this bike. Its masculine as well as feminine like Ardhanareeshwara. And it kicks like a divinely calm bull. Poetry in motion even when standing still, no? I only dont like those chrome bits on the side panels.

@sam9s: My fault for not saying properly. I meant how did you ride during the break in period. Did you stick to the manual's below 4000 rpm stuff or did you rev it hard and stressed it out or a random or controlled mix of both? I couldnt control my impulses and I wanted to experiment...so, I did it the mad mix way, still riding more or less the same way......now Im thinking my bike didnt like that and its plotting its revenge. So, i just want to know if I can expect a smooth ride at 25000 like you even after subjecting my bike to mild torture.

Also, Id appreciate all seniors' opinion on this.

@msn1: Ha. Youre a lucky guy. im luckier. I neither have an rx nor a beautiful muse to express my innermost delicate feelings with mental lifethreatening stunts. So, Im safe.

Even i am starting to think that the Carburetor is faulty. But i dont think i would want to change it if i will get a Mileage of Tata Nano.

                              @ All,

I gave my GS for 10th Paid Service yesterday. I complained about the Inconsistent Mileage Issue to the Service Supervisor and he said he will re-tune it properly and take care of the Issue. Well, i guess not.

After Servicing now, the Cold Idle is at 800 RPM. If i don't raise the Throttle and leave it, then the Bike turns off.
The Warm RPM is now hovering around 1000 - 1100 RPM max.
I don't think so this is the Optimum Setting or Tuning.
Will check the Mileage a couple of times and see if there is any improvement. I am not Optimistic though.

The Chain Noise has emerged again after Servicing. It was not there before. Also, when the Bike is on MainStand and if i rotate the Rear Wheel, there is some Chain Noise. Wheel is not rotating freely.

I have switched to Motul 3000T 4T Plus from Gulf Pride 4T Plus Oil.
Am not finding much of a difference in both these Oils as Gulf is an equally Good Oil.
The Major difference is in Color though. Gulf Oil was Dark Red in Color while the Motul Oil Color is Yellow like our Sunflower Cooking Oil.

Will post my Mileage Data Figures that i have collected soon.

                              • @ abhi_gsr: Dude, isnt gulf oil dark reddish in colour and not coffee brown? Atleast thats what Ive filled up my bike with. are there different colours for different grades?
BTW, same case with me also.....dabba mileage around 40-45. But mine is only some 45 days old....maybe too early to say but still pissed off.
