It does not quite work that way. When the bike is running, the current drawn solely from the battery is not as high as you have calculated. The lights will draw some current from the stator coil charging battery circuit too and not solely from the battery. Net result - battery will not get the required charging current, but no way it will be damaged due to high current.

If you need to use the 55W light, it can be done. Save some power by disconnecting loads such as tail light, pilot light etc. But anything more than 55W is not supported without coil rewinding.
ya... technically you are right, but bike electrical system is not designed for such high load. i didnt see any bike with headlight directly connected to battery (yet to see one)

Well ther are many bikes with headlight directly connected to battery - HH Karizma, Pulsar 220, Pulsar 180 UG IV etc..

Even my Pulsar 150 Classic is modified to run the headlight off Battery. And I use a 60/55W headlight without any problems.
Your biking tells a lot about the person you are!

I was riding on upward slope with heavy pillion and I felt engine stressed, noisy and vibes were coming. Im sure it was my lack of skill...

          One query-
how we shd ride on ascending road with heavy pillion (abt 90 kg) ?
what speed at what rpm is recommended in order to keep down rpm below 5k ?

In short, guide to climb ghat areas with heavy pilion in break-in period is required.

@Arun Prasad: congratts dude..! be carefull n rains. ride slow and practise to properly apply disc brakes in rain. Nothning is faulty. Just follow the break-in instructions propelrly. Ride at variable speeds, shift more gears, etc. TObring on main stand, just stay on stand and push it downwards, apply some power with ur legs. Its very easy !!

@riazmomin: U're in similar conditoin I was 3 weeks back !!! I bough GS and Im uncontrollably Happy!!
These days my health is bad, got fever and I haven't ridden my GS for 2 days.. Feeling very unusual
what speed i have to maintain upto first service.. and eventhough i got very negligible scratch i want to remove it.. is there any way.. to remove that.. does tefflon coating help me. or i want to change that handle grip.

Don't exceed 5k rpm. Is it on the handle grip ? Then I guess it can be changed.

1). you should accelerate your bike like a cart (dont care about the guys who overtakes you)

2). Dont drive your bike below 3000rpm during break in period.

3). Avoid cruising at constant gear, shift gears at a gap so that gear box will break in and provide smooth operation on later.

4)drive like 3000-4000rpm for few mins, 4000-5000rpm for few mins... periodically.

5)drive is traffic roads, cities... Highway is not recommended in break in period.

these are the procedures that should be followed before first service or 800kms

Okie those are called as dampers or also bar-end dampers.

They wont be much expensive to change. But change it only if its very bad scratch.

                          haha, Not manipulating.
I had to take 3 test drives of GS 150R before thinking of going for it. It was quite tough for me to choose GS 150R over Xtreme, But finally the 6th COG and refined engine has helped in.

I hope the refinment remains same, even on longer run.

I may get it tomorrow itself, thats is 10th June. I will be going for orange one. And my R15 has gone into other hands this morning itself.

                              And to the owners...

Has any one tried to change it to short handle...??? I dont like that lomg handle at all. Shorter handle helps in improving flicability of the bike and little sportyness in the bike.

What is the Oil grade used?
