Update: After about 500km I m getting 63kmpl. Quite satisfied except for headlights and problems with quick shifting of gears. When I stop suddenly when I m at 6th gear (coz a dog came in between or something), when I try to reduce to 1st gear really fast (coz the vehicles behind you are making you deaf even though you wore helmet) the gears kinda get stuck, the gear indicator goes blank and I have 2 release clutch before shifting to lower gears. Anyone else facing this problem?? Also, anyone has come up with a good bulb for the headlights which give significant improvement ??

That is standard for all the bikes. Cant say that it as a problem though.Originally posted by kumarprabhatn View PostUpdate: After about 500km I m getting 63kmpl. This I experienced more or less in many bikes (unicorn, hunk & fz). if u stop (speed=0) in topmost gear, gears hang and u've to release clutch little bit and then shift occurs... bcos in GS, there is gear indicator, it goes blank. other bikes have no gear indicator so rider may not feel this as we feel in GS. Hope this answers.Originally posted by kumarprabhatn View PostUpdate: After about 500km I m getting 63kmpl. Quite satisfied except for headlights and problems with quick shifting of gears. Hello guys,
Writing in after a long gap because of hectic work in office.
.. some days back I read in this forum regarding the overtaking capacity of GS with others... believe me guys if you properly change your gears then no one really match the pick up of GS except RTR to some extent... this is my personal experience, upto 5th gear they will try to chase you; but once you go to 6th gear they cant even try to chase you...the bikes zooms like zma add(hritik roshan with mudded bike)
its really a great feeling....
In today's newspaper i read that there is 0% interest loan for GS... so who all waiting for such an offer might think of going for GS now... its in bangalore dont know about other cities
This bike is rock solid on higher speeds.. might feel slight vibrations (negligible) @ higher speeds... but smoother than any other bike in this segment...

Since your bike is still very new, don't expect the gearbox to be very slick. I suggest pressing the clutch all the way&changing gears as the momentum decreases. Over a period of time, the gearbox will get set&then you can drop gears as you like!Originally posted by kumarprabhatn View PostUpdate: After about 500km I m getting 63kmpl. In my R15 sometimes I need to drop 3 gears suddenly!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Shifting from 6th gear to 1st at 0Kmph is tough is all bikes as some shared. I think we need to develop some skill here. I'm just working on it. You said that a dog came inbetween and you had to apply a sudden brake. Well even when you apply a sudden brake you dont stop[say 60 to 0] in a second. It takes atleast 5 seconds [Please correct me here if I'm wrong]. Probably if you could learn to downshift to atleast 4th or 3rd during that period, It would not be problem after you've stopped. This comes by practice. I've just started to practice when I apply sudden brakes[I have not mastered it yet]. I think this will take some time and should be OK.Originally posted by kumarprabhatn View PostUpdate: After about 500km I m getting 63kmpl. Gr8. I'll totally agree and compliment on this. I've already shared here of my highway experience and I've travelled at 110Kmph for some seconds, man this bike is rock solid[leave alone the roaring sound which irritated me a bit]. Hope the bike becomes smoother at high speed in due time.Originally posted by sharshas View PostHello guys,

About that 0% scheme, I am having a nightmare because the suzuki dealer didn't submit the loan file as 0% scheme, and I got charged normal interest of 23%. The issue is yet to be solved, I have mailed suzuki too, but haven't yet got any response.
