  • share the mileage i got

Hi guys, after my tank full run, it came to reserve on 778km(on trip from full tank),Many of them advised not to tank full ,bcos petrol will evaoprate fastly than having petrol less say 5 ltr more after reserve....
So i put 3.51ltr for 150Rs(petrol cheap ya here),then after 178km my bike came to reserve that tells mileage 51kmpl,Then i want to go a long trip 70km so i again put 50Rs petrol means 1.17ltr then went for 70km trip(to and back),103km run so far for 1.17ltr no reserve still(i drive 55km speed only),means 88kmpl, but if i average it with 3.51 +1.17=4.68ltr 280km/4.68ltr = 59.66kmpl but still no reserve
Is it right my calcultion or wrong?

Buddy, black color is like a baby, if you don't take care, it's sure to get itself dirty by anything it can get!

Maintaining the color is not difficult thankfully. Firstly, buy a cover for your bike, and cover it whenever it is parking for more than 1 hour in open. Second, first 'dust' the bike, and then clean it. First hit the cloth over the bike so as the dirt flies away, then only scrub it lightly. Third, apply some polish weekly, so that it will be very easy to clean the dirt quickly.

Bike looks masculine in black. Don't regret your choice

This happens because sometimes the bike clearly gives wrong signal of turning to reserve. Just had this happen to me this morning. Be completely sure the bike has indeed turned to reserve before just turning the knob for a few jerks.

I always switch to reserve only when the bike comes to a complete halt... I dont rely on the jerks

            • @vensan: I have mentioned here earlier how to clean the bike. Please read that, plus as Animeher mentioned, Don't use the cloth directly.
I have had 3 black bikes&a black car&I know they are most prone to dust. I allow the dust to settle on them till I wipe them with the wet cloth&then with the soft dry one.
Please read my previous post somewhere about how I use 3 different cloths to clean! It really works!
Also, polish your bike atleast once a month. It removes minor surface scratches.
              Quench my thirst with gasoline!

                • Bike after first service

                  Hi all

After my first service last week, the bike feels better.

The vibes have become less but the 3.5 k vibe still is pronounced

headlight is better if not great

tik tik sound when moving over small bumps is almost nil. but stil i hear a small tik at times, though difficult to hear unless you concentrate on the sound

Mileage has increased to 44 from 42 earlier.

Gear shifts are better , but not great...

Gear Box is suzuki's nemesis always.. the same continues to haunt GS also..

Suzuki is the only japanese company which has not perfected the art of Gear box..these people once said the shabby gerbox is complicated that it cannot be produced in india... see the honda, mitusbishi ,kwasaki etc are masters in the department...even koren companies like hyundai are great in the department..

just drive a maruti and honda back to back (same class cars of course).. you would find a great difference...The precision of the honda's would make you die for it..

even Hyundai is great in its gear box .. all of its petrol vehicles have great gearbox (diesel gearboxes are a little cluncky due to the heavy clutch) but i would rate the diesel gearbox of hyundai better than suzuki's...

So the gearshift is not so smooth as one would expect..

But overall the bike is more rideable and manageable and enjoyable now after the first service...

                  Good work done by ABT

                  • i found its gearbox to pure butter COMPARATIVELY to most bikes out there ...

i was not in a position for instant down shifts so i dont know about that fact
up shifts were more smoother than down shifts
Hope is a good thing ,

Maruti is aiming on INDIAN market (so they produce products at lesser price, sometimes they compromise on quality), but their only aim is for mass sales in India.

honda is importing cars, assembling in India, modifying the suspension, so their quality is high to meet international customers and pricey.

this is not the case in suzuki 2-wheelers.

it has one of the complicated gear-box next to yamaha R15. as it is six speed, and further at sixth gear it engages balancer shaft to the engine. with all these features, its providing smooth shift...

seriously dude... my pillion really surprised about the gear shifts as he never felt the jerks and the sound. Just wait, it wont make you unsatisfied.

The choke lever might not be working properly.
