Guys, listen and read the above post , posted on 3rd March 09.

Don't blame me for spreading the rumour.

Why GS150R owners are not listening here. Please take a careful study on the bike and post it here.

Of course, I'm not a GS150R owner. But I like all the bikes here and has been following all the discussions here to learn something new

      i second this....

though i've not tested it, but i too think it's same as TVS VICTOR,FIERO F2 and SCOOTY PEP...
it's just working on the throttle openings, that's it....
cuz if it's about the sensor thing it would have cost high on that department, and that system works best on EMS i.e on fuel injected bikes not the carbs one....

Its not that complicated. may be in scooty pep and victor that eco, power light is connected to throttle position.
so when you rotate the throttle beyond a particular position the sensor in the throttle changes light from eco to pwr .
In gs150 a similar sensor is connected to the tachometer needle.
when the tacho needle rotates due to acceleration and crosses 4.5 mark light comes on.(in eco mode)
you can consider that sensor is something like a switch, not anything expensive.
        thats it.
now can we put this topic to rest. its already been discussed(more than once ).

High cost? A wire or two to the CDI and few lines of code for the microcontroller is all it takes on a carbed bike.

Better yet, has anyone who owns a GS150 tried to test it the way I described? Twist the throttle with the engine off and see if the light comes on. If no, RPM related, else throttle switch. This is the way to put this thing to rest once and for all.

Okay, ignore this post, see above.

            • OK, this is for the last time. No matter how much you rotate you revolve throttle while engine off, the light doesn't come on. When in any gear, and engine ON, the tacho meter crosses 4.5, light starts blinking in ECO mode.

I am a GS owner, and am saying this after testing only. The modes are NOT dependent on the throttle position, neither do the light show up when we twist the throttle in engine OFF mode. The blinking lights come ONLY when the engine is ON and crosses the 4.5k RPM in ECO mode.

I honestly hope this clears all the doubts. In nutshell, the modes are connected to the tachometer and NOT the throttle. If any question still arises about this, the person has to donate 50rs to Pune GS owners club first and then expect an answer

                  Hi All,

I got my SUZUKI GS in last month. Completed 850 on ODO...

                  One question to all...
Does anybody have resolved the 3.5 k resonance issues ?

                  • The resonance will subdue over time, it will go away on its own. Don't worry, and enjoy riding!

                        • Hi,
i'm giving my bike for 2nd service tomorrow.
should i tell them not to change the oil as i rode only 900km after first service with the new oil.
and oils can be used for 2500km generally.
