    Hi Guys,

I am quite new to xbhp. I have recently come down to Bangalore from Jaipur(Client Location) & i have made up my mind to take a bike. I am staying in Bangalore since 6 years.

After several days of analysis i shortlisted Suzuki GS150R, Pulsar 150cc & Unicorn. Last weekend, i went around with my friend to see these & enquire about the prices in Bangalore. I Visited the suzuki showroom on South End Road (Advaith Automation). He had only orange & blue versions which looked very appealing to me. The dealer told me that the onroad price will be Rs. 68308 /- & he also told he would charge service charge of 2% for credit card. Next we went to Honda showroom on RV road, had a look at the unicorn, i felt the suzuki was superiod to this one(My mind was filled with the thoughts of owning the suzuki GS150R). Then we went around to Popular Bajaj in Jayanagar, Pulsar is by far the best bike & the most common bike in Bangalore, but i did not want to purchase a bike which was so common. For a change i went to another suzuki showroom in KH Road(Aerolex Motors), he had all the colours on display, the black one looked awesome. I had already made up my mind for Black Suzuki GS150R. The showroom guy told me that it would cost around 68,854 /- on road(+2% credit card service charge). I just vaguely looked at the finance schemes & then had the test ride of my dream vehicle(Orange One) . I felt the vehicle to be very refined, stable & ultra smooth with incredibly smooth gear shifts. I wanted to take the bike the same day itself, but due to cash adjustment constraints i told them that i would come back in a week or two.

In the Evening i came back home & just was doing some research on my Suzuki and found out some cases of rusting in these bikes & also some other issues regarding mileage & service. I felt very disheartened to hear this. I am totally confused now whether to try my luck & go for this bike or to believe in already reliable Unicorn or Pulsar???

    Please advise!

Also Bangaloreans, please advice in which showroom i should purchase this bike for good offers, free accessories & good service centre?? I think the scratch card offer is closed now. And also the showroom guys are hesitant to give any accessories. They tell they will provide only scratch guard & saree guard. Rest we need to purchase on our own. Please share your purchase experiences if any.

I am planning to purchase one this weekend!

no idea. i've given my bike for servicing now and told them about it.
he said he'll take a ride for about 5km after service and if it still exists he'll ask suzuki what should be done.
      lets see what happens.

        Rickson,
Go ahead & book the GS150R.The R__S__T issues that you have read about have been taken care of & the new lot does not have any problems.Abolut the 3.5k vibrations,it will go away as you keep moving up the odo.

GS has better ride comfort, suspension & mileage than any other bike in its segment.

Just go ahead & book it & ENJOY THE RIDE.

Disclaimer:These are my personal opinions about the bike, just go with what you like & prefer.

could you suggest the best mineral oil in 20w40 grade ?
I told the SC not to change oil, and i want to try something good and see if the roughness go away
and there wouldn't be any problem if mineral oil is toped up with another company's mineral oil of same grade right ?

and how would it be to put a tank pad on the bike like the high end pulsars. there are some really cool ones on planetdsg site.
and i feel it'll prevent the jacket zip from scratching the tank too.

                Nikhil,
I use Shell Advance SX4 as of now & its good for my daily runnning of 60-70kms.If you can find ELF Moto4 Gold, nothing like it but i doubt it comes in 20w40.I usually change my oil after 1500-2000kms which I suggest you also to do to keep the engine smooth & also change the oil filter alternately.

Even I had thought of putting a tank pad BUT you know my story so just leave it.From your aavtar itlooks like you have a blue GSR & I found a good tank pad which suits the bike. Here is the link to it Kaulson Racing ...... GO!!!!!!!!!!!! For KRP.

If you want to check the products website www.progrip.com . The price is also reasonable.

The dealers will charge you i think.BTW i had gone to a Suzuki dealer to buy the bike.It was after 30th Oct so the offer was over by then, that tatoo thing. But at the entrance i could still see the offer adv.So i asked him for the same since i had gone on 4th Nov.He plainly said no.He was even not ready to give me any discount. So i left that place and booked the bike at a Local bike shop. That guy gave me the bike for 65,500 with Helmet, Parking Cover, Grips, Saree and leg guard.
