      • hey guys,

My GS is8500 on odo. I went to local mechanic for the first time because the chain was oose. got it tightened. and he said there is a weird sound from the engine and that its a big issue. I'm assuming its just rough because of that shitty engine oils the SVCs use. its been 1500 from last oil change.

Is this normal. That mechanic made me paranoid about this.

When I asked about the different sound of engine, the S.C engineer mentioned its due to the different camshaft design. I guess the balancer shaft may be the other source of sound.

So nothing to worry about it, you are not feeling anything na..........

          • guys i will be giving my bike for service on tuesday...its 8.5k on odo....
1: The headlamp assy will cost me some 1.7k along with some metal thing inside for .4k+1k for the reflector......total 3-3.5k
I liked the gsxr750 naked version's headlamp very much....so thinking of putting that....it will cost around 200$ (as bking's is available for 170$)and will be available only after the model is launched locally......so is it wise to wait for that one(white tone) with a dash of white on the seat or just put the gs150's one........
2: went to the sc today and consulted the mech there....he says engine is not rough.....but i feel it is.....so what to do??i am using castrol power 1 semi synth oil currently.......
3: the feel of handle is lost....i mean its not as flickable as it was earlier...what to do about it?
4: The rear foot peg and the saree guard is rusted so will it be changed under warranty....

If you like the B king one then i guess you can wait for it.
But GSX750 doubt it'll come anytime soon. There's some law that doesnt allow importing of new bikes under 800cc or something like that.

No idea about castrol, but castrol mineral has a pretty short life, may be same case with SS oils too.

Probably the cone set like mechanic said. it can get damaged if you go on bumps at high speed or sudden jerks like during a crash.

4: The rear foot peg and the saree guard is rusted so will it be changed under warranty....

They'll just paint it and give you. It had happened to me too, wasnt replaced or anything.

Do u have any idea if DTSI(twin spark plug) in pulsar implemented in our GS150 , How our bike behaves...????..I mean if suzuki do it not our own modification
Ya that black thing is TPS.
introducing DTSi tech in GS is difficult(Bajaj got patented rights upto 250cc on DTSi).
If suzuki decided to implement this tech, instead of DTSi they can try i-DSI(intelligent-Dual Sequential Ignition) engine with two spark plugs, but both wont fire at same instant instead a small time gap between them. i-DSI is HONDA's tech used in honda city (non-VTEC version).

                  • In India, performance bikes above 800CC is allowed rite, but how come these 600 & 750 is allowed officially . Good to hear, now I can at least set a target ("Mission Impossible") to be a proud owner of a 600 within 5 years.

I had the same issue of rusting sari guard, but the S.C said there is no warranty for accessories. So I used emery paper to remove all the rust and repainted it. It seemed like they made the sari guard out of scrap metal without even doing a proper oxide coat and all . This happens when we get free accessories, no quality control.

                        • So there is nothing to worry about. I hope you are getting a decent mileage above 50 kmpl. You wont get good mileage from a faulty motor.

By the way what did the local mech say to you? What makes the sound etc
