Yes iam very sure. There is no chance the petrol will burn. because there will be no combustion....

      • Review of veedol super swift 10w40 synthetic blend

I changed to veedol super swift 10w40 SS oil. on my 4rth service.

        Reasons for opting veedol:
        -------------------------
1)It is the only SS oil with highest specification"API SM"(As far as i know remaining brands SS aren't) though "JASO MA2" is there in every one.

2)The price i got is rs 225 against the mrp of rs 313.

        3)Good reviews in xbhp.

        Results noticed:
        ---------------
The initial 50 km was not encouraging, but after that my bike became smooth and with every ride it showed something positive. Now i am really relishing "DRIVE ME CRAZY" caption of gs 150 r.

        Verdict:
        -------
I will rate it better than gulf which i used in terms of engine smoothness and equal if not better in terns gear shifts.I will give 4/5 points(i do not know about motul, agip, shell which are generally regarded as top most hence 4/5)

It will never let you down, use it to experience it.

        will post my 1000km observation.

i am now using motul 15w50 semi-syn oil.. The oil is good but the problem is the bike struggles to pull once engine gets hot due to high viscosity of the oil at higher temperature... i suggest gspians not to use this oil
can anyone suggest other semi-syn oil from mobil or others in xx-w40 range.. The oil in my mind now is shell advance vsx 10w40 semi-syn..
Is this OK or any other better oil compared to it in semi-synthetic..
          Please let me know guys..
I would suggest you Castrol Power1...semi synth15w40.The MRP of 1L can is 279. I think my bike got smoother after putting this new oil. even acceleration increased very much.Bike can now manage to reach 100 under 15secs.

I tried the same castrol power1 semi synth 15w-40 it is not good lasts 700 kms then engine became rough response is bad changing gears became tough

found motul mineral is better than power one with motul mineral oil i crossed 1800 kms and its still smooooth

So should i change the oil like after 2000kms. As My mech told me that the oil will last upto 3500km. If the bike becomes rough after 2000kms then i will surely opt for Motul mineral 20w40.

And bro...i have a query..today i have tuned the carb to lean mixture so as to increase the mileage. As a result i am facing lack of power from the engine. what would you suggest... should i tune it again for less rich mixture...??

Yes for most of our members either motul or gulf settels better and even shell is okay

Dont play much with the carb always stay closed to the factory default setting (2.5 turns)
just want to stay with in 3.25.

Carb is the one who feeds fuel for the engine if the tuning is bad it ill became a silent killer for engine..

just read the past 2 weeks post from mathews syrnc his bike was scr**ed up due to bad carb.

                  be specific buddy..

how much turns you have set??? (2.5-4.0 turns are gr8 to go)
                  warm/hot idling? (around 1200-1500)
                  cold idling? (1000-1100RPM)

key thing is your avg traveling speeds..
if you always travel @ high speeds above 60kmph....then set near 4.0 turns
it you travel more in city n below 50kmph....set near 3.0 turns

                    warm idling is 1100RPM
cold idling is 1000RPM i think the mixture is too lean because the bike tends to stall mostly....

Can u suggest me any setting so that i can get more power and decent mileage ????

More the turns richer the mixture n vice-versa

                      I have told you,
if you always drive fast(speed>60kmph) then set between 3.0-4.0 turns
if you drive slow n mostly in city then tune between 2.0-3.0 turns
3 turns would be sweet spot for ring roads
                      \
if factory setting were 3 turns then if you turn more then, you will get good mileage only if drive around/above 60kmph....
Stalling part may happen , if you do tuning on hot engine.....10-15 min of decent driving is enough for warming the engine..

if you are sure you have 4 turns, then before you REtune your carb, try to increase the idling a bit

                        • My GS150's cold idle is about 1k rpm, and hot idle after 50-60km afternoon ride is dot 1.5k rpm. Is it good or am I running a lean mixture?

EDIT: The turns are 2.5-2.75, but I guess that I did the tuning on a little hot engine, and the performance too is not most optimum as it was when it was on a rich mixture.

                          Comment

                          • Actually, its more important that how people understand the meaning of turns.
Carb tune turns are generally one complete 360 degree turn.
                            1 turn= 1 360 deg turn.
At 4.5th to 5th turn, the fuel screw would unscrew itself........!!!

At 4 turns the carb is over rich.
                            At 3.5 turns rich.
                            At 2.5-3.0 turns Optimum.
                            At 1.5 turns lean
                            At 1.0 turn leanest.

These turns are all in anticlockwise direction from Fuel Screw lock Position.
Now complete 360 turns is the original tune turn of carb, not the 180 degree turns.
Everyone please take note of this.
Tuning on normal engine temperature is best. This temperature is achieved by taking the bike out for a short 2 km ride maintained at speeds around 30-40kmph with freely shifting gears through the rev range.

                            • I would like to add some in MACH's post

If you bikes IDLING varies accordingly i.e. cold-1000-1100, hot 1300-1500
but you feel something missing power
you may consider, a bit richer mixture with very little lowering the idle
                              from current positions.

I know many of us, face same issue

                              • k. Finally which engine oil will you suggest for a term of 2000kms and idling rpm position varied 1.3k - 1.5k. The engine run and gear shift should be smooth. If possible, minimise the engine noise.
