Today changed the oil from castrol active 20w40 to castrol power one 15w40.

The oil changing procedure which i followed is :
    1) opened the oil bolt...and completely drained the old oil.
    2) filled the engine with 700ml petrol.
    3) turned the engine on for 1min..so that petrol will clean the engine thoroughly.

    4) drained the petrol completely.
    5) Finally fed the engine with castrol power one.

After doing this..i found gear shifting to be butter smooth. acceleration in very much increased, the bike sounds as if new.

But the only problem i had is the tappet noise. but will surely do the tappet settings tomorow...
Are you sure about the points in bold

just assume the RPM (piston movement, engine speed and heat inside the oil chamber) where instead of oil you are having petrol (highly inflammable) what will happen if it got combustion in the oil chamber.

on normal ride 64 !!!!! (tested 3 times continuously on PWR mode)
vibration start at 85 - 90 km speed

      my GS completed 1 yr & 9400+km

my previous average milage is 52 to 55 on normal city ride
& maximum milage is only 60...
Vibration start from 55-60 km on 'rough mode'
great man...that too on power mode !!!... i got 70kmpl but on express way during break in period..that too driving at speed 50 - 60kmph in ECO mode on a free road without much gear shifts, brake ...same condition i got 69,58, 48 and 62 kmpl (inconsistent mileage ) ....now i'm riding at the speed 70 to 100 kmph and i am getting 50 kmpl ....

and what do you mean by tuning for better performance...did you tuned it for better pick up (rich mixture) or for better fuel efficiency (lean mixture)...

my guess is your bike is running in lean mixture..

      • top speed

Guys..today i checked my bike's top speed..in ECO mode and in normal gear shifts my bike's top speed is 109kmph at 8K rpm...thats it..the speed didn't increases so as the rpm ..there are no cross winds and there was no pillion..so i can't blame cross wind..actually i am frustrated now...seeing other GSpians touching 125+ and i couldn't even able to touch 110 kmph...will the speed increase while in power mode and when i shift gear above 6K rpm....i know that the best way to find out is to try it out...i'll try it out after 2 days.. still i need your advice..my bike has done 2400 kms...completed first service..i am very much eager to see 120 in my speedometer...

by the by today morning ride was one of the best rides in my life..first time in my life reached 40 kms in 25 mins mostly driving at 90 - 100kmph ...our bike rocks at 100kmph..it's true that the speciality of our bike can be felt only at above 70 kmph..

I will not recommend this procedure to anyone. I know this procedure is used by the local mechs only and not by the suzuki svc mechs. The reason why they dont use this procedure is because it requires a lot of effort to drain the whole oil plus petrol. The svc mechs are too lame to do this thing. it takes 1-2 hrs to complete this procedure..

In other word petrol is a fuel / solvent where engine oil is to cool the engine.
My dad is a very experienced person about these things. He knows detailed info about engines. He recommended this procedure to me. Petrol helps in removing the carbon deposits caused at the surface due to the old engine oil. After this procedure my bike's acceleration has increased so much..that it can reach 0-60 in just 4.5 secs...initially it was 5.5secs.

I am sorry i forgot to add one more point...during this procedure i had removed the spark plug..So there is no risk is carrying out this procedure if you want. Trust me. I did it myself.

Yes iam very sure. There is no chance the petrol will burn. because there will be no combustion....

                    • after taking the bike to 117kmph the day before yesterday, i took my bike out today and i felt the revving part a bit messy, it doesnt rev freely after 5k 6k rpm like before, but gears are damn smooth. i'm really paranoid now about this revving part. i rode the bike only for 3-4 km today. Is something wrong?
                      All peace Bro. xD

so do u think there's some other way to run the engine by removing the spark plug. Obviously we'll have to kick ...!!!

can anyone suggest good semi-synthetic oil in xx-w40 range in mobil or gulf...
i am now using motul 15w50 semi-syn oil.. The oil is good but the problem is the bike struggles to pull once engine gets hot due to high viscosity of the oil at higher temperature... i suggest gspians not to use this oil
can anyone suggest other semi-syn oil from mobil or others in xx-w40 range.. The oil in my mind now is shell advance vsx 10w40 semi-syn..
Is this OK or any other better oil compared to it in semi-synthetic..
                              Please let me know guys..
