    Welcome to Gsr hub
Yes. I think the factory setting is like that only, but its not a big issue as told by SC persons. You can give choke to make the engine warmer quikly. You may even experience the engine is feeling it difficult to breath. This all due to leaner mix of carb setting resulting in better mileage. So cheer up, and enjoy riding. Take care of your darling

        @CBF150M
During the initial two or three weeks or first 250kms this behaviour will occur as all core component are new and need some time to settle down .

In a week or more it will be perfect so my input for you is not to screwit (dont tune it ) and dont concentrate on mileage ttill finishs runin period.

              • Need help on servicing myGS at 10000 KM

Hi Friends, I have completed 10000 KMs on my GS as of now and will be going for 9th service next week. I noticed in the service manual that once bike completes 10000 KM, in addition to normal service, certain parts need to be replaced .

Please let me know if some one had actually done this at 10000KM. Ideally it should be done as per manual, so thought of checking here. Below are the things that is mentioned in manual

                1. Spark Plug - need to be changed at 10000KM
                2. Fork Oil - To be changed at 10000KM
                3. Grease pack on wheel bearings, chain etc at10000 KM

Also shall we change Brake fluid now ?

As of now, I have no much issues with my GS, only a bit of knocking sound while driving in intense traffic while holding clutch.

Please let me know ur thoughts on this

well i use my bike mainly on the highway and the cbz x was a little strained at speeds of 70 to 80. Wanted a relaxed cruiser. I do around 35 km of highway riding a day.

in this case you are gonna love GS....your requirement is exactly similar to mine..i'm doing 38+38 kms at 60 - 80 kmph in expressway...and GS does it with ease..

since you own both i hope you can give us a comparo between cbz x and GS later...."later" here refers to after finishing your run in..

                    • hey i noticed a big gap between the seat and tailpiece. It does not sit flush.Wouldnt water entering here mess with the electricals? Is it only my bike or you guys have the same thing? I also noticed a gap at the lower half of the chain case, its pretty wide, is it just mine? water and mud could easily get onto the chain from here.

well as of now i cannot compare the engines of the two as i am still to run in my gs, but what i can say is that the gs is a lot more comfortable over bad roads . The cbz is slightly nimbler though.

                            • how much is the warranty of engine in our bike.....as i plan to change the bore and piston (knocking issues and engine roughness) before doing many trips this november
                              13th 150kms(2 G2G's)
                              14th 300kms(nashik)
                              17th 1000+kms(destination unknown)
                              20th-21st 740kms(velneshwar)

how much time does the svc take to change the stuff!!!!reply as soon as possible......because if i change the bore and piston then again 1000kms of run-inperiod that means no ripping the throttle......

                              • Today evening given my GS for 5th service

My Service center switched from castrol to servo

But the good thing is they are ready to accept customer provided oil, what they said was the grade should be 20W-40

Gave them the following list of issues they said the estimate amount is 1000 rupees

                                # clutch leaver change (as it is bent in accident) SVC said it can't be corrected and need to be replaced that would cost 150 bucks.

                                # chain and sprocket cleaning.

                                # oil filter and oil change (told them to pour what ever the so called svc oil will change it later after some 500 kms)

                                # disk break pads and oil level check

                                # final free teflon coating.

                                # and the usual water wash.

Ill get it back on tomorrow.

Planning to switch to shell VSX semi synth after 500 kms.

@Akfara I told them about my doubt on engine sound volume they driven it tested and said its normal and no need to do any change.
