    The tank rust problem has been rectified..

    As i took the bike @) days a go and asked the same question to the guy there and he said it is not there new dual colour 2010 models...

          • @BikeLover...........if the bike is switching back to neutral,and its in 1st gear.........then it maybe that the first gear is not being engaged properly,try full clutch in and shift the gear really hard.

            I think your ride needs some clutch cable adjustment.

            My GSR moves like water..........it feels easier than a Splendour to ride,despite its heavy size.RecentlyI am using WOT(wide open throttle) to get faster when the bike is in lower rpms,and the bike just jumps and runs faster than a P220.
            This bike really deserved a more powerful engine...........I just wish to sprint to 140kmph with it,its so smooth that we cant feel and discomfort due to wrap speeds.It really feels like a High Budget bike,solid quality and feel.

              BTW
              While talking over the phone to my SC PONDY he told me there is no such run-in-period for latest bikes
              He told only stone age bikes(RX100,Hero honda splendor ,etc) need to be run in carefully....
              I asked him bcos they changed bore and piston under warranty at 13500km on odo on my bike.So i asked him whether i should follow the new bike procedure or not ...
              I ask U xbhp guys to answer this...
              1.)Run-in necessary or not?
              2.) should i change the oil as soon as possible (say 800km to 1000km) as while changing bore and piston the SC changed oil with famous(suzuki recommended) CASTROL 20w 40 .I want to move again to GULF or MOBIL(which only good brands avail here)
              3.) should i get same mileage before i got or Due to friction(new piston) i will get Less mileage? during run -in - period?
              Currently just finished 250km after B&P change,Engine feel very good compared to earlier,But roughness bcos of castrol oil is there.....

              • Bought Gs150R Yesterday

                Hi All,


                I bought GS150 yesterday. I have some doubts, here it is.

                1. I want a comfort ride. So what is the ideal setting for the rear suspension. I rarely goes doubles. So i want total smooth suspension action.

                2. In initial stage (the engine is new) what is the ideal speed and how many k.meters i have to ride in that speed.

                3. My friend said "you should go all speeds - so that the bike can fix to all speeds, else the bike never able to cross 80" is it true.

                  One who got BP check and replacement done can only answer your question

                  Bp = bore and piston
                  Our pal rajesh canable to tell you
                  Out of 10 bottle 8 are duplicate in castrol

                  Our sc guys are even killing the shelf life of the oil by not keeping it in recommend way try oil change go for your favourite gulf

                    Q1. Default settings is fine for normal indian road with some where around 125 kg human weight

                    Q2. Read manual throughly and go as per.

                    Q3. Just now you got married you can try for a kid but immediately you cant be grandpa rite. Same way your gs is like your new girlfriend both of you need to mingle and understand each other so try to move up gradually for doubt refer manual still need help ask us.

                    Ignore your friends advice he is trying to do R & D on your bike.

                    Hope you will get back to us for technical queries on your gs.

                    Ask us on Gs only not gf okay.

                      SC guys changed Castrol from DRUM(big size don't know capacity).....
                      U queried about matching headlamp bulb for ur LED in ur post earlier..I will post a pic soon..which i bought in chennai pudupet,but not yet fixed...
                      I hope u lose the intensity(power) with that bulb(chinese cost 125Rs)...but match ur LED well,And its ok for city use ,not recommended for highway

                        I Am VENU from Mangaluru, Karnataka
                        Iam going to get my grey colored beauty tomorrow. Have test rided both show room bike and my piece once. My decision to buy GSR got intensified after carefully going through many of the pages of XBHP...
                        So thank you guys, will come again with my experiences and some pics too

                              You should never high rev the bike in lower gears,
                              shift every gears till 4th before it does 4000rpms.............
                              Shift the 5th at higher range around 5000rpms and go to sixth only when you are close to 6000rpm.........thats all the run-in mordern bikes needs.

                              It is not advisable to maintain constant speeds during first 1000kms for a replace bore and piston.......vary engine speeds.

                              • I have bought a GS150R on 22 Sept 2010. Bike is doing great, got it after reading this column. 700 Km done, will give for 1st service after 950kms.
                                My observations

                                1. This is a huge monster, cannot compare it with any other bike. Its a bike with some qualities of all good bikes around, like unicorn's smoothness, pulsar's gadgetry, height/width/length like hunk, engine sound & big bike feel like a bullet. Along with Speed, stability, cornering ability, gadgets, stunning looks, it also gives the owner a happy feeling of being the privilege owner of one of its kind bike.

                                2.No major problems yet, except squeaking noise like a mouse. This was very loud from the rear end of the bike after the 1st few days of buying the bike. the svc did some oiling & the sound had reduced. however it has now crept back & seems to be coming from the front area.

                                3.Calculated Milage using R-R: 52 kms on highway running. After 1st service will try full tank method.

                                4. After so many days i drove my wife's scooter pleasure. The pleasure's handle felt so lighter than my gs150r. Is the handling of gs150r heavier or mine needs oiling/ loosening?

                                5. Sometimes when i shift gears from 1st to 2nd there is a false neutral. is this common?

                                6. Also while downshifting, 3rd to 2nd sometimes is a problem as the gear seems to be lost. (especially if the bike is slowed from high speed)

                                7. i will fit the pulsar's led pilot lamp on mine. can anyone suggest the best headlamp bulbs/leds which would not require any electrical setup change?

                                8. People in the blog say not to exceed 4.5 rpm but manual says not to exceed 5 rpm. I have only once exceeded 5 rpm. Would like to know whether i should give a few burst of above 5 rpm < 7.5 rpm before 1st service?

                                9. Lastly, this is a very special bike. GS150R is unlike any other bike & GS150R like bike will not be made in years to come. Its a totally unique bike, so ENJOY
