Its the ODO reading my friend.... as can be seen in the spreadsheet I'm maintaining.......
80% of my journey is in 5th or 6th gear, 15% in 3rd or 4th gear and 5% in 1st or 2nd gear.......

Even I am curious about this, people said the average will increase after first service so I didn't complaint too much, my old GS150R is still giving 50+ average, and this new GS150R is burning holes in my pocket.......

Also I felt like the quality of the parts was much better in earlier GS than the new ones.

    Thanks for the compliment buddy......
If you need you can simply copy that sheet and update it with your own entries so as to keep a record on how much you are using your bike and how much is it costing you......

He repeats again the same thing..AHHHHHH

Everytime they will adjust the chain slackness and Clutch setting thats it.
I think it is high time that i should take this up with Suzuki.
I have done with my 4th service.
Local mech just drove my vehicle and said the sprocket rubber is gone and feels some problem with the clutch for which he will have to open and see.
he needs half a day for all this.
I am sure this is the best bike i have driven among my list. But just because of these SVCs, the comapny will loose its value.

I want to post a complaint on the suzuki website, is it the feedback section where i am suppose to post?

Buddy, even I am facing the Hard Gear shift problem..... the service guy said it will be ok after 1st service, but now the time has come I am about to go for second service, yet the problem is persistent. I am not sure what is causing it but I am sure gonna change the engine oil they are using.

It means suzuki engine is made for it but we need to ask the suzuki engineer first.

What is the octane number of premium fuel? As far as I know, it is ordinary fuel with some additives which is claimed to be reducing carbon deposit.
India's Ordinary And Premium Petrols are of 89–91 RON. The premium petrols are generally ordinary fuels with additives, that do not really change the octane value. Two variants, "Speed 93" and "Speed 97", were launched, with RON values of 93 and 97. India's economy-class vehicles usually have compression ratios under 10:1, thus enabling them to use lower-octane petrol without engine knocking-source wikipedia

Not 3-4 kml but, perhaps, 1 or 2 kml. That too is not sure.
so it makes no difference in mileage but is their difference in sound and performance?

        • Mileage discussions again. Mileage has always been erratic for me. Probably because my riding style is erratic as well. These days, I simply dont bother with mileage and ride it the way I enjoy it. Im probably getting around 35-40.

You sure that it grips well in sand??? Even the impulse's tires skid on sand.

Buddy, I drive almost 30 km a day, so mileage is kinda important for me to look for......

              A few things like:
              • One pilot lamp was gone when I bought the bike
              • Gear shifting seems to be very tough
              • The paint quality of the USED GS150R I bought earlier was much better than the new one I bought
              • One of the bolt(below handle lock) simply just dropped off the bike while riding
              • The right side's foot pedal is way too right in comparision with other GS150R's as if its a manufucturing defect.
              • Very low mileage.

                      • @mano26: why dont you enquire with a few different showrooms in your city? Prices have increased in april due to central budget. I think the suzuki website still has not updated the prices yet.

You can save a bit of money if you opt for insuring it yourself.

I have the same mileage issues as you. The best fuel mileage i got in the city was 50 kmpl on driving with a lot of restraint. I think theres a good bit of exaggeration going on when the others here claim a city mileage of 55-60 kmpl. In any case, given that I have a heavy throttle hand, the 60 kmpl grapes look sour to me. But consider this: suzuki itself claims a city mileage of 47 kmpl.

I quite agree on the points mentioned by you. Only in the new GS, I can find so many people talking about the build quality and mileage issues. I think the change in gear ratio caused this. But the other issue I am not sure. Maybe Suzuki needs a better Q control team.

Buddy I personally have got 56 before the first service. This is completely inside the city and zero percent highway. But after the first service it dropped. Maybe a carb setting. I ride mostly in 4.5K to 5K RPM in 6th gear. So I believe that this bike can give 55+ inside the city.

I begin to notice that the power delivery in this bike is very linear. So there is no sudden burst at a particular RPM like 6K or 7K. That makes over taking slightly difficult. That sudden power surge would have helped a lot. Anyone else noticed this?

Nopes...I do not have any utility features installed yet. I guess this was just a case of a faulty ignition coil condenser that escaped factory QC. And the poor guy had to be me!

                            • @rharish90:

There were a few complaints about mileage in previous models too. I own a 2nd gen. one. I really dont know what to say about some of you claiming such nice looking mileage figures in city riding. Either my bike is faulty or you all are smoking some good stuff.

Kinda surprising that you'd say the drop in mileage is due to gear ratios.....I imagined fuel efficiency must have improved due to the closer gap between the 1st and 2nd gears in the new model.

As for the power delivery, the pull gets noticeably stronger from 6k upto around 8-9k, if you observe. The engine does its job well, only without any big noises and with just a mild to non-existent kick....and this, coupled with its stable and neutral handling, makes it feel like you're not going too fast, when you're actually doing something like 80 kmph. You'll be like "eh? am I even moving?" until you look at the speedo showing 80kmph.

Its more than upto the task of overtaking similar vehicles on our roads, its just deceptive and feels underpowered till you wring the throttle and watch the speedo show what the motor is actually doing. Its kind of sad that we dont get a sense of speed on this bike unless we're watching the speedo.

I had some difficulty adapting to this 'powerlessness' initially, having graduated from a 2t. For me, the engine's character wasnt truly visible and appreciable till i did some high speed, high rpm riding. Till then I was quite disappointed with my purchase.
