Magesh, which is the SMD here that is responsible for the console light colour?
In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!

The SMD's are on the back side of the circuit ie.back side of cirucit in PIC 4.. I didn't opened the LCD panel,,actually it's beneath the LCD panel and it's outer shell..

Next two days it's highly impossible to open the console., Bike has already clocked 10090 kms., So tomorrow will be giving it for 5th paid service...

      Sorry guys...

Please explain what the fault of the new RR is and why you are insisting to use the old one.
        That's great.
And There is no problem in new one but make sure it is original.
Genuineness of a RR can be guaranteed if it is brought from Auth. Piaggio dealer.
RR's which cost 500~700 are duplicate(Delhi made) and a original RR costs around Rs.1100/-

The RR we usually call Ape’s RR is manufactured by GREAVES COTTON LIMITTED. The authorized Ape dealers are not selling any duplicate ones.

            • Ownership experience of GS150R, 2012 batch

              Hi Everyone,

              Bought on: 11/11/11
Current status: Third service completed two days back(5800kms on Odo).

              NOTE:
              1) The review/opinion is solely wrt my understanding.
              2) Accept my apologies incase of any mistakes (understanding/technical/grammatical/interpretation).
              2) Specification data is from the manual (got it along with 2012 batch GS150R).
              3) Everything might not help all of us who already have the 2012 batch GS, but might help GSPians with prior to 2012 batch to compare data and the people who are in dilemma of choosing a motorbike.
              5) While choosing bikes, analyze your needs (trim practically and compromise as per availability & affordability) and check the bikes which fulfills most of your needs.

Uno) I wanted to buy a bike with below requirements:
              1) Equal to/above 125 CC.
Reason: I need more cc (along with bhp), at times in a need for that extra pull & speed with smoothness and least vibrations.

              2) Commuter bike.
Reason: for the comfort as usage is 30+30 to & from - office.
              3) Mileage equal to/above 50.
              Reason: decent Savings and affordability.

              4) Front disc brake.
Reason: Savior incase of those situations demanding instant brake & driver's confidence booster when compared to drum brakes.

              5) Fuel gauge.
Reason: I hate when i had not checked/miscalculated petrol on my previous bikes (rx-135 and KB100 RTZ) ending up towing my bike in search of petrol bunk.

              6) Fuel tank capacity more than 10 ltrs.
Reason: I love to have least visits to petrol bunks and depend on one petrol bunk & brand (Shell).

              7) Turn indicators.
Reason: Safeguard myself by informing others on my expected move and avoiding others ramming my bike from behind. I beleive that accidents donot just happen becoz of my mistakes ONLY rather there are many naive drivers with least common/riding/traffic sense who can be the cause.

              8) Odo meter.
Reason: Helps me many times when i want to check the distance between some source and destination.

              9) Speedo meter.
Reason: Sometimes to help me not to cross my/bike limit and to test the bike's limit/durability/performance during different changes on my bike.

              10) Self start along with kick start.
Reason: Self starter is an easy option in traffic signals. I can never rely solely on battery; hence need a kick starter too. (Have seen FZs and guess some dazzlers too stranded due to battery failure and nothing to kick around).

              11) Fuel tank cap key hole lid.
Reason: Just to prevent water seeping in due to rain or wash to some extent. (Had seen water in my previous bike (Bullet, RX135, CT100 and RTZ) tanks).

              12) No Forward lean position riding style
Reason: Don't want to take too much of pressure onto my back and arms/wrist.

Dos) Few bikes that i thought of:
              a) Shine & Unicorn were not available off-shelf, 6 months waiting period and no TD too (Cursed them: shove it up ur).
              b) Thought of Avenger too, mileage is less and i didn't like the height of the bike, cost was also too high.
              c) Bajaj Discover was also on my mind, TDs was ok but somehow it didn't please me to own one.
              d) Thought of Gladiator, they said SZ. No TD and waiting period was 1 month(Ride urself to hell after one month).
              e) checked few vehicles from TVS, not satisfied.
              f) Actually i was ok with Slingshot and went for TD; i somehow felt that i should do a TD on GS too. Thats it, i was overwhelmed with its performance and smoothness.Instant TD and delivery time was one day. I feel usually No TDs and waiting period are the key factors for many to cut off few vehicles from their shortlisted vehicles.

Tres) Few things that i feel missing/to be added/ to be modified are:
              a) Side stand indicator.
              b) The headlight Dome, always loved those round or cheetah(local name in JC road, bangalore) headlight domes
              c) Tyres are not reliable wrt grip,
              d) Handle distance (length and height) from seat.
              e) Length of gear shifter.
              f) Brake and clutch lever manufactured with a slightly angled outwardly, they are not parallel to the grip/handlebar.
              g) I hate stock stickering on most of the bikes that i have seen. Hence have removed all stickers on my bike except on the tank as it is lacquer/whatever coated. i am not sure how to remove.

              cuatro) Post purchase findings:
              a) I feel, bike's weight is an added advantage for its stability.
              b) 6 gears will help a lot on long rides, used to ride a four geared vehicles and crave for fifth gear and now with GS150R; got 6th gear. Awesome smooth long drives especially on traffic free roads and no need to mention about highways.
              c) Instrument panel is choooper, ahhh; all my old vehicles had analog meters.
              d) Huge Tank, at times i have filled 18 ltrs of fuel which serves me for minimum 15 days of 60kms/day along with short drives during weekend.
              e) Heard many complaining about rear/front brakes. To me, they are fine/adequate as i have all these days lived with drum brakes. I always have a habit of using both the brakes in 50:50 ratio (rear: front).
              f) Bike will not sway when a huge vehicle passes beside you. When getting onto the tar road too from mud road with 2 to 5" of height, transition is smooth not like many other bikes dancing and completing this rock climbing.
              g) Stability, Smoothness, Clutch performance, gear shifts are the best major points along with 57 kmpl mileage depending on many factors.
              h) Got no goodies along with the bike, depends on showrooms i guess.
              i) One good thing that i felt is, the side stand, and sari guard are included by default on all the bikes. Maybe Suzuki would have manufactured at their plant and these guys just fits them and deliver not like other showrooms who will push you to have all these accessories buy along with that "Teflon coating"(full scratch proof Saar).
              j) Bike has got front disc brake and rear drum brake.
              k) Bike has got 5 point adjustable rear suspension.
              l) Many people feel that the headlight needs to be improved. It is adequate for me as i usually drive during daytime and in the evening inside the city where street lights and other vehicles lend me a helping hand ;-) .
              m) Seat lock available along with some space beneath the seat (have placed tool kit bag and bike documents).

              Cinco) Bike features:
              1) Instrument console:
              a) It has Engine RPM indicator light.

If it is bought from the authorized Ape three wheeler dealer, it will be original. That extra wires you mentioned is not for ammeter and ammeter is not used in the new Ape three wheelers.

Nice to see promotional activities taken up, bikes are tied like they are towed , they should also highlight features like proven FE , reliablity which are valued more by Indian customer

It is regulator rectifier or rectifier regulator converting the AC input to DC and regulating the output voltage. The stock rectifier of our bike is single wave and the Ape’s is full wave using bridge rectifier. Both are limiting the maximum output voltage to about 14.5.

                        • Thanks , stock rectifier is half wave rectifier with regulated output , i guess its filtered and regulated so as to provide safe ps to digi consol , another question arises , if people here are rewinding the alternator to DC o/p , why we require RR again , can't we just change to Full wave RR and get full DC.

In simple term mineral oil loose their viscosity within a shorter span whereas synthetic oil will last for several kms and give better performance.
Though we have loads of forums and discussions on oils , we don't have any reliable recommends for oils .
All oils perform differntly if tested back to back , this can be noted by the rider who is having his pulse interfaced with htat of a bike.
