  • Guys
    Just wanted to share my one week update and initial run in observations.

    I found only pros still to find out single con of this baby.

    Still to receive registration and docs like owners manual. Following initial run in procedure. Keeping this beast below 5k rpm is really hard.
    In absence of owner manual I am assuming rpm its my guideline in all gears. Observed that gear shift its butter smooth between 4k and
    3k rpm. otherwise a little hard. Please confirm this is normal. And will this be normal afterwords?

    Headlight high and low beam is acceptable. Had to adjust beam direction initially during delivery.

    Hoping to complete my 1st run in by next weekend.

    Till next time.
    Waiting for your inputs

      I remember reading somewhere that you can use the vehicle in another state upto nearly a year without re-regn\road tax. Not sure under what conditions this is applicable.

      KA RTO website has a FAQ entry on this. Skip to 3\4th of the FAQ for most of your info.

      xbhp needs a thread on state jumping road tax rules and stuff.

      @josettan:
      The front looks nice! Except for the number plate on top of the headlight. Should have left it where it was earlier. Pulsar handle looks good with with all that chrome on the headlight and mirrors.

      But whats up with the bullet seat?

      I always wanted to get twin dome or asymmetric headlights on mine.

      @whyterider:
      Hope things work out for you man.

      @SrijitC:
      Youre probably shifting the most at around 3-4k rpm, hence it seems smooth in that range now. Anyway, dont worry about gear smoothness and all for now. Let the bike pile up some kms first.

          Asymmetric beam is the main problem of our headlight; I think. Otherwise, light from a 35/35 watts halogen bulb is more than enough.
          What I did on my Fiero was replacing the stock bulb with an ordinary 35/35 watt halogen bulb but replacement of bulb does not work on GS due to the design of the reflector.
          Even the 55/60 watts bulb after DC conversion is not giving the desired more pointed (focused - symmetric) beam.

          17 mm. Socket spanner is easier and safer.

              Its not my bike. Mine is still new. I reposted jitubhai's post so that everyone can see the pics. I just altered the link to image. I vaguely remember someone asking about round type headlamp in this thread. So I thought it may help someone

              By the way, I'm happy with the stock headlamp design, except the bulb

Now engine halted. I started the engine in throttle close position, but it didn't start. while opening the throttle fully, then it started. Normally, My bike used to start at throttle close position itself.

                What would be the problem friends ?

                    hi pals,

                    my 1st service was done today nd the vibration @3.5rpm disappeared .the thing i noticed is that the oil they are using is some castrol 4t .and i dont know if its good or not..any way after i got it serviced i went in search of motul .some dealers said they never heard about it some said its not available in kerala.can any one suggest me a place in kerala where i can get motul oil or elf atleast ???here i could find only vivoline gulf and castrol..

                    am seriously worried about the oil they use in svc .and the svc in kottayam is really awkward..they seem to be lazy about servicing coz the oil level is just below the max point before it was above it..!!!hope to do next service in cochin ..any one from cochin here plzz provide me a review about svc in kochi !!!!!

                      YEs suzuki uses castrol under branding of suzuki.....
                      and the oil level should be in between the max and min level...so its proper now.....

                        I meant changing the whole headlight unit to an asymmetrical one, something like a BMW r600gs.

                        That can be one solution to the poor beam problems.

                                If you cant find motul then use gulf pride 4t plus. I'm using it now and its almost as good as motul.

                                My bike is 2 years and 8 months old.
                                13000 kms on ODO.
                                Last service was 1 year ago. (I haven't given it for servicing in last ~5000 kms)
                                Just changed the oil myself (didnt even change oil filter).
                                (I wanted to try tightening the chain few weeks back, but the nuts and bolts are way too tight and i couldn't even move it a little with the spanner so left it off)
                                Haven't had even 1 problem related to the engine so far.
                                Mileage (48-50) but i touch 7-8k rpm in city so its a good mileage)

                                You cant compare a Suzuki engine and Bajaj engine !!! (quality wise)
                                People with fiero's would definitely support the above statement.
