Still cannot understand how the circuit works as you are using the stock RR and the coil is not grounded.Originally posted by kripscorp View Post

Congratulations. You with a 60,000 kms riding record are the senior most among us; I guess. How is the condition of your bike now and whatever parts were replaced?

I would like to add tubless or punture resitance tubes with weight reduction and smaller stance features , also more color options .Suzuki should invest in marketing and promotions , dealer network as its almost 4 years since GS was launched and still not common. This is best bike money can bye in this catagory.
Honda is marketing aggressively with all old vehicals (popular models) yet.

Testing results of stator after rewinding
Hi, These are the results:Originally posted by punarvasu View PostStill cannot understand how the circuit works as you are using the stock RR and the coil is not grounded.
Since the headlight is connected to the battery, check the voltage across battery terminals at various engine RPMs and please post the result here.
What is the mechanic’s opinion? I don’t think GS has any common clutch problems and this is the first time we hear such a case. Mine is 22850 kms now. No such issues yet.
RPM AC Volt Across stator
1000 14
2000 28
3000 38
4000 50
5000 60
6000 73
The above voltages are when nothing connected to stator output. Just measured the raw current from stator. And, while reversing the terminal no voltage came.
After connecting Ape rr, measured the voltage across stator terminals, voltage didnt crossed 10volts. It didnt cross 11 volts at 6000 rpm. And while reversing the terminal, just 2 volts came.
Ohm meter test within stator 2 terminals:
With engine stopped, I measured the resistance across stator terminals
Multimeter output 2.8 and 1.4 (kept the multimeter position to 200 ohms)
These 2 readings are taken as below:
Eg: if stator terminals are A and B, multimeter has testing points red and black.
Red connected to A and black connected to B == 2.8
Black connected to A and red connected to A == 1.4
Ohm meter test with stator terminals and ground:
With engine stopped, I measured the resistance from each stator lead to ground using ohmmeter (200 setting in multimeter)
Resistance came to 1.0 and 1.3 respectively.
Stator A terminal to ground = 1.0
Stator B terminal to ground = 1.3
Friends pls suggest me what else i can do ? Totally F**ked up!
I cant imagine coil rewinding once again ...Last edited by kripscorp; 04-04-2012, 01:57 PM.

Use any xxW-40 mineral or SS oil you prefer. Most of us are replacing oil filter while changing the oil though it can be used up to 8000 kms.Originally posted by gobs4u View PostHi Guys,
My ODO reads 4500 KMS and what engine oil i have to use?
Also do i need to replace oil filter everytime i change the oil?
Thanks in advance..

Rear Brake Shoe @ 28,000 KMS & 48,000 KMS - Costs 450/-
Front Brake Shoes @ 30,000 KMS, 48,000 KMS, 60,000 KMS (Costs 250/- (Just used the Front Brake for testing the Brake))
Rear Tyre At 44,500 KMS - MRF Zapper - Cost 2,200/-
Front Suspension Overhaul @ 25,000 - Cost 150, 60,000 KMS (Cost 450/- Oil Seal Replaced)
Clutch Overhaul @ every, 15,000 KMS - Cost 150/-
Front Mudguard @ 60,000 KMS - Cost 1,800
Battery @ 52,000 KMS - Cost 1,650/- Amaron
Front Tyre @ 52,000 KMS - Cost 1,600/-
Chain & Sprocket - @ 28,000 KMS, 52,000 KMS Cost 1,300/- approx
Air Filter replaced Twice, Spark Plug Replaced Twice
Petrol Tank replaced thrice under warranty due to rusting
Other than these, Engine Oil (with Nulon Engine Aditive), Oil Filter every 2,000 KMS (after Warranty Period @ 3,500 KMS), No other problem (touch wood).
I am only unhappy with the rear brake. Not inspiring at high speeds.
Has Taken AMC from the Dealer. Costs Rs.1,000/- with 1 year validity. You get four service coupons
5 to 10 percent discount on various spare parts, Labour charges. Vehicle servicing charges @ 350/- is waived off.
I fill 15 Liters every 10 days. Reset the Trip Meter A. Once the Fuel gauge starts blinking, I note down the KMS in Trip Meter A. Usually it is 650 KMS. By Filling 15 Liters I am sure that the Petrol Bunk does not cheat me.
Suzuki is not doing any marketing to promote GS 150. Has the worst resale value in the market. I was quoted 20,000 for my bike. When I visit Service Centre I see more Access Scooters. Barely 1 or 2 GS 150. Surprisingly Slingshot has picked up sales. Seeing it every day in my area. But resale very poor. Anyway decided to keep the bike. Will upload some photos shortly.

, had it been Pulsar/apache it would have been bomb, one of my relative spends RS 9,000 every year on pulsar repaires after 2 years( most with engine components). FE is doubtfull do you drive in powermode or god mode at most of times, driving style. I get 810 kms for Rs 1000/- @ 14.5 liters average speed 50-70kph. pls check for efficiency.
I hope this bike should get better resale , 20,0000 !!!
... common guys, i sold my bajaj boxer 9 years 90K odo @ Rs 14K
with bald tyres and all that , bought it @ Rs 34,500/-.
I will keep this bike for ever till i move to 4 wheels, will only sell with 15% less ( or more if it gets antiqued)with billed value .Suzuki didn't promot fiero aggressively like pulsar , cbz and did not sell in large nos , but commands repect and resale value still.

I ride between 40 & 60 KMPH. One of the reason for the mileage is that I ride the bike late night (between 11.30 PM & 2 AM) with sparse traffic. Just put the bike in 6th gear @ 65 KMPH and go. And also I always fill exactly 15 Liters and not just for 100 or 200 or 1000 at the same petrol pump and religiously check the Tyre Pressure.Originally posted by Vikshe View PostMaintainace is reasonable

Had some personal problems. Thought of selling the bike. Scouted the second hand market for nearly one month. All the second hand dealers quoted 20,000. The highest I was quoted was 25,000. As per dealers, Pulsar, Apache, Honda Activa, Hero Honda Splendor, Hero Honda Passion command very good resale value. Of Late, Yamaha FZ has also picked. The best joke - One of the dealers could not even recognize the bike. Gs 150 - what's that - never heard of the bike. This shows the level of marketing done by Suzuki. Except die hard fans like us nobody wants to buy Suzuki Products. The only selling product from Suzuki stable is the Access Scooter

I disagree, being it as any make / brand 85 to 90 % of the issues / repair and cost incurred are due to the negligence and the manner of the person who maintained / owned the bike.Originally posted by Vikshe View PostMaintainace is reasonable

I met with an accident today.
I was coming back to home from office, and road was wet due to rain. In a turning, bike moved to a gutter which was filled with mud and it slipped when it entered to that gutter.
Fortunately, there is very less damage, both for me and my bike
. Mask have some scratches, there is a bent on handle and key got broken into 2 pieces
.
I need to take it to service center to repair it. My bike is on its full capacity of fuel. So I'm worried about bringing it to service center.

Did i have to say remove max possible fuel and keep it in some good closed container [a plastic 10 ltr oil can is good] in a cool place but not fridge keep it in a safer place out of children reach and away from fire hazards.
do take a TT injection for safer sake.

Happy to know that you have escaped without any serious injuries and you are not at all bothered about the accident but about the fuel in the tank.Originally posted by Joe85 View PostI met with an accident today. Simply drain it and give the bike at the SC with fuel just enough to ride a few kms.
