Suspected Ape rr and replaced it with stock rr. now everything works like a charm. Bike ammeter showed a good deflection around 8 amps at 4000 rpm. Actually, battery was almost empty and self started didnt put up.

I dont know the APE RR can be replaced or not., as I have cut the wire terminals.
Replaced it with stock RR then what about the coil ? did u grounded one end of the coil?
The ohms is pretty high in your case, as in our cases it's around 1ohms only.. Try checking the continuity..

Guess what, I too have somewhat similar results when i tried this yesterday
2 times the bike stalled but couple of times it went weak and then died..So i guess this test doesn't actually indicates anything as it depends on the throttle one applies.
So will try the standard "SVC approach" method to know more about this.

All seems to be signs of a bad clutch. And the worst thing is: I use the clutch only minimally, yet all this seemingly premature wear.
Even I have the feeling that my clutch has very little play. Somewhere close to the last quarter of the clutch play is when the action(acceleration) begins..So need to check that..

No I don't redline while accelerating but was shifting gears at 5-6k rpm thats it ..But yeah I am quite happy with it considering the roads i travel

No, I didnt ground the other end of the coil. But it works. I taped the other end of the coil.
only one end of the coil output works with stock rr. If i connect the other end, it didnt works.
Between where I have to check the continuity ?

From stock RR, I'm getting 8amps of charging current. I have 14 amps ammeter fitted in my bike and needle deflets to more than half of the +ve side @ 4000 rpm.

          Is mine an isolated case?
My odo currently shows 14k odd kms and the clutch is in great shape..No issues at all..

I have got my bike back. No big difference straight away to be honest. I have been told to do a run in of 500 Km approx and then go meet him again. Till then I guess i will have to wait to see the result..

This is because you are not releasing the accelerator while shifting gear. Just release the throttle grip and up/down shift.

Are you sure you are getting DC from the RR to charge the battery and AC for the headlight?
Please check everything again. Otherwise the battery will soon be dried.

The reason may be an incorrect clutch play. Get it adjusted at the SC. If the problem persists after that, check the clutch discs and spring.

ya sure. one end of coil not connected anywhere. and i didnt solder it to stator pin (which was soldered in stock setup). i directly took it out with the copper wire (insulated).

till morning, battery was dead. could not take up the self. after replacing with stock rr, its charging properly and battery charged enough for self starter with 15 mins of ride.

I didnt connect headlight with stock rr. i connected yellow white wire to ignition switch. this i have done long back to make headlight flicker free.

Tried most of the spectrum of clutch cable adjustments. Not much improvement. Nearly 11000 now. Have already approached SC with this.

Thanks for all the responses. I wanted to know if GS clutches were generally weak or if mine was just an isolated case. Looks like it is.

HAppens on mine too. Whenever i rev too high in 1st, I always get that thud sound while jumping neutral to 2nd, if I shift too fast. So, I make it a point to shift carefully from 1st to 2nd, even at the loss of rpms. Minimal sound then.

My bike has endured a lot of such thuds. Nothing wrong in the gearbox yet. This happens while downshifting from 2nd to 1st from high revs as well.

Sorry I missed the post some how.

Anyway for the TB story, I booked it by September. The waiting period given to me was 4 months. But even after 7 months no body had any clue when I would get it despite escalations at all levels. Finally I got fed up with all the false promises they were giving me, so went ahead and cancelled it.
