Wow, thats a low price for a well kept suzuki. Fieros sell for as high as 25-30k even 10-12 years after their launch. Looks like the GS atleast has low resale value. I've seen some 2008 RTRs go for that rate.

But its a damn good deal for a 1.5 year old bike. Whats on the odo?

    ANyway, happy riding.

There is dust between the disc and brake pads. Clean it with water or compressed air but it cannot be eliminated permanently. Better to forget it as it is not affecting the smooth riding in any way.

Because here in India we have so many stupid (religiously or regionally valid ) reasons to sell out the vehicle (i-e hit a pig ) and that may impact your impression towards your guardian angel aka bike ...

Enjoy your ride with all safety gears

I stopped thinking about it once I made the first half payment. I'm happy!

          Thanks a lot though!

The seller slowly came down from 55 to 50 and then 45K. I also contacted another guy who was selling a Sept 2009 GS for 45K but he refused to come down to 42K. 2 weeks later he called me up and asked if I was still interested to take the bike for 40K I mentioned that I had already found and closed a deal. Not a lot of people know about this great bike and so they probably don't feel confident in buying it. And that explains why the GS has a lower resale value.

The odo shows 20K. Is that really high for a 1.5 year old bike?

Seems to be a reasonable price as its on road price is Rs. 71,400/- here and, according to getvmurali, 74,400/- in Chennai.

No. Thats ok. Its expected if the vehicle is used for daily commutes. But, depending on how the vehicle has been driven, you might not be too far away from needing some replacement parts...like spark plug, air filter, brake pads, tires, chain and sprockets, maybe the cone set. Check to make sure.

Im on the lower side though. I've driven just 11k in my 1year, 5 months of ownership.

                    Where do you mean here?

In bangalore, considering the bloated rates for everything, it seems a very good deal. The going rate online for a 2010 model seems to be around 50-55k. Thats some good negotiation if the seller dropped 10k from the asking price.

                    • Engine knocking above 4k .... I think

My gs starts knocking(meaning it makes a rickshaw like or light metal tapping sound) when i accelerate (a little rapidly) above 4k rpm .... This happens in every gear

Last month when i showed it to the service centre guy he put some anti knocking lubricant which i was very skeptical abt
As i expected it didn't help
Does anyone have a solution for this and has anyone faced it before
                      Thanks

Congrats for going to GS , resale value depends mostly on market sentiments( bullet / fiero , though not common), parts availablity , services and trust established over long term,HH pasion/splendor command better resale due to there presence over long duration, same with Unicorn. bajaj/TVS though common don'y command that value ( brand image) Gs not being common on streets fetches lesser value though better in qulity in every repect and you will not regret it( as market has started accepting GS it will command better resale than most 150's if 1st owner decides to sale it , get it serviced from SC as soon as you get the posession.

I have met and ridden his bike..Its pick up is way better than mine..i can personally guarantee that coz i rode his bike..not yet sure about the exact specs..will confirm on monday..today was just dismantling the bike..

also Manu says that the mileage has increased from below 40 to almost 45 now...i feel that it is still a low number..but an improvement atleast...
