Did a one directional ride of 466 kms yesterday, first time in my life. GS is awesome, no tiredness, back/hand pain for me, mileage received is 58. One observation I made is I could notice only 4 GS in the street.

Please give me opinion about the following point.
    • I did the ride after first service which was at 500 KMs. Now it reads 1050. I didn't cross 5K RPM, but top speed was 65 and average between 50-60. One of my friends said I should not have done this ride when the bike is new and I shouldn't have crossed 60KM speed.

The White looks gorgeous...Im glad i took white based on my judgement since the showroom did not have a white bike at that time.

Gears will be little hard in the new bike and it's normal., After 1st service(in terms of kms) you'll feel entirely different., In my case I wasn't able to use toe shifting till my 2nd service ., After 2nd servicing the bike is different and FYI I'm using only the toe shifting thereafter., And weight will not be problem , it depends mainly on the rider how he maneuvers., Only while pulling back from a sloped parking you'll feel the weight.,,
Thanks gmagesh I prefer toe shifting always. So, good to know that it will become smoother.

I have read many times on this forum that many have been doing so.
Almost all the SCs accept this offer as they are getting the servicing charges from the company without doing any job. More than that, each SC has a servicing target to achieve. Just buy an oil cleaner, hand over the service coupon and ask them to record as the servicing is done. They may perhaps ask you to buy the oil, but it is not necessary.

Absolutely no issues.....I know people who did 3 laps to nashik just to complete runin period in a day.....and mind you they own premium bikes.....so its not at all a problem.....

I didn't cross the said limits, but when the service supervisor took a ride(at 500 KM) he crossed 6K(I was the pillion rider)... do they do this intentionally or its because of their unawareness. I hope it won't make things really bad.

It was a mistake; I think. Need not be worried about it as it is not affecting the performance of your bike in any way.

                  • Major problems in my GSR.

You will be able to reply perfectly to this post if you read every word. But still if wish you can read
                    Problems faced AND
Things I think I should do AND Things I have changed during service.

                    History :
I have serviced my bike 1st time after 1 year & 2nd time after another 1 year. Changed oil twice to Motul 20W40 Mineral.
I have never charged my battery ever in 2 years & 8000KMS.
I have never changed my Engine Oil Filter.

I have met with a crash 2 months back where I lost my handle bar(replaced-genuine) & a big dent on tank (still there)

My bike has NEVER seen more than 400 RS petrol ever till yesterday when I filled in worth RS 1200 so the upper part of the tank is sort of rusted. So it has always stalled on roads, highways due to lack of petrol & I majorly rode it on full choke.

                    Note
I have always felt loss of power in my bike because I stretched the Mineral oil & used it for 4000 Kilometers twice. If I start engine & keep my bike idle for even 30 seconds, engine shuts down. My friends told me changing gears in my bike is tougher than kicking the Bajaj Chetak.

Things I changed during 2nd service - ODO 8000 KMS.

                    1. Spark Plug- Stock
                    2. Engine Oil Motil 20W40 Mineral
                    3. Spark Plug cap- Honda Unicorn's cap. (changed 6 months back during rainy season when bike did not start at all)
                    4. Front brake fluid to Castrol DOT3 for the 1st time in 8000 KMS.

I know many will be thinking what actually my bike's PROBLEMS ARE,

                    as follows . . .

                    IMP-
                    1. Today after the service where I changed oil, spark plug, I STILL faced loss of power after riding for continuous 60KMS on 60 KMPH speed. My bike finally stalled & it started after I removed the spark plug cap and blew some air in it. I don't know if it started because of the air I flew in the plug cap.

                    2. Ever since I have crashed, when I open my Petrol Tank, there is a blast. There is always some water that blasts out of the tank at a good force. Today when my tank was neck deep full of petrol, again there was a blast of petrol. Its like there is a pressure waiting to come out.

Things I think I should do,

                    1. Change Oil Filter immediately But from where will I get the 100ML engine oil which the oil filter needs on replacement & which Oil Filter to use ? ?
                    2. Change spark plug cap to original Suzuki plug cap But do they sell the cap as a spare part ? ?
                    3. Fix my dent on the tank, maybe it is the cause of the pressure ? ?
                    4. Charge my battery but battery cannot be the reason for loss of power, can it be ? ?
                    5. Tune my engine to a rich mixture but how ? ? Tune my carburetor ? ?
                    6. Clean the air vent of my Petrol Tank ? ?

I very well know that I have screwed up my bike but there was a personal & genuine reason for this ignorance towards it. Should I think that now I should take care of it nicely & it will recover soon ?

Please give your genuine suggestions as to How to Solve the Lack of Power & other problems in my bike. I want to improve

No problems....until he stayed at 6k rpm for a while......
during run in process the rpms should be varied and not just kept constant.....

The service center guys will change the oil....they use drums for storing oil in Mumbai....
use the one provided by the svc guys

the original spark plug has no issues on my GS.....otheroption for you is suzuki zues/slingshot....@punarvasu Help!!!
                        3. Fix my dent on the tank, maybe it is the cause of the pressure ? ?
Its not due to the dent...even i have a dent on mine ......the water outlet(the outlet at the mouth of the tank) maybe blocked resulting in pressure

                        4. Charge my battery but battery cannot be the reason for loss of power, can it be ? ?
No need to charge the battery

Not suggested until the mechanic knows every bit of detail
                        6. Clean the air vent of my Petrol Tank ? ?

                        Any ways.....
                        replies in bold.....

If the first oil change was done @4k kms....then engine might be seriously harmed!!!!
Get a general service done by svc....and if still the problem persists then we will find other solution.....

                        • I am a potential future buyer of the GS150R and have a few questions.

Apart from cosmetics, what has Suzuki changed on the latest version of the bike? I hread somewhere that the exhaust note sounds different now and someone said the gear ratios have been modified.

Does the new GS come with tubeless tyres?

I am not a big fan of the latest stickers on the bodypanels of the GS. Does anyone know if its easy to remove these stickers and if its possible to get hold of the stickers from the previous generation of the GS?

                          Thanks in advance.

I can answer few from my side(i own 2011 batch):
                            - New GS doesn't come with tubeless tyres
                            - Removing stickers except on Fuel tank is an easy job as i have done it, but the fuel tank has some coating(teflon/antirust/Lacquer/whatever) hence you will have to get the coating removed to access the sticker.
                            - Gear ratios have been modified.

It can be removed evenafter it fastens. If you find it difficult to remove take it to your nearest sticker shop, they'll help you..

Apart from the improvements said by fadeawayraj, these are also some improvements in the latest batch of bikes.

1.Headlight cowl/Visor design has been changed (Bike looks a little small and fresher now )
2.Engine is much smoother than ever
3.Handle bar end weights have been increased to eliminated the minute vibes at handle bar..
4.Sides panels near the tank area are redesigned..
                              5.Rear Brakes are also improved.
