I am using xena ones.....they are pretty sensitive and full marks to them from my side.....Originally posted by asidnayak View PostHi Friends,
Its been 2 weeks since I got my GS150r. Waiting for the 1st service so that I can unleash the beast. The run in period is testing my patience. I was worried about the safety of my bike. So goggled around a bit and checked Xena disk brake locks, but they are pretty expensive. So finally have ordered Kabrus Alarm Disk Brake Lock from ebay. Checked the same in amazon and the reviews were decent.
Now waiting for it to be delivered.
Anybody got any experience with these locks?

First Service
I am taking my GS for its first service tomorrow. I couldn't cover 750 KMs, but 30 days mark is reached. I covered only 500 KM. Do I need to tell anything in particular to the service people? What all things I need to check after service.
Also I too have problem with the fuel knob. Fuel gauge indicator shows only one block, but knob is still in ON position. I am going to have a 400 KM ride on Sunday, how I can check the mileage, in my earlier bike-Splendor I was using R to R method.
Thanks in advance

Ask them to change the oil filter while changing the oil and tighten all the nuts and bolts including engine mounting and chassis bolts.Originally posted by mubashirkk View PostI am taking my GS for its first service tomorrow. No one is depending the fuel gauge to know the exact amount of fuel left in the tank. So, no need to worry about it.

Engine tuning and Carburator tuning are two different things right ?
I'm servicing mine after a year and asking the SC guy not to tune engine but tune everything to factory settings, right ? Will change to K&N oil filter and Motul 20W40 mineral oil .
Any other thing I should tell my SC that he shouldn't be messing with ?
8k KMS on ODO." A man is also known by the bike he rides :D "

Yes.Originally posted by chiragwarm View PostEngine tuning and Carburator tuning are two different things right ? .
While servicing, the mechanic is not doing anything more than oil and oil filter changing and lubing the chain with few drops of engine oil.Originally posted by chiragwarm View PostI'm servicing mine after a year and asking the SC guy not to tune engine but tune everything to factory settings, right ? If you are planning to use K&N oil filter, please let me know how it is superior to the stock one. And be sure that it is a direct fit to our bike.
If it is K&N air filter, you are wasting the money you spend for it.
Motul is heard to be extra ordinary oil, having telekinetic power which gives tremendous mileage. All other engine oils are gradually vanishing from the market here as none is buying any oil other than Motul.
The mileage my GS gets is merely 60-64 kml and the reason for this low FE is not filling Motul oil in it.
Nothing as they are not messing up anything while servicing.Originally posted by chiragwarm View PostAny other thing I should tell my SC that he shouldn't be messing with ? 8k KMS on ODO.

Ok sarcastic reply. Never mind.Originally posted by punarvasu View Post

If its not Motul, then what is the secret behind the extra ordinary mileage you are getting ?
Nether did I say Motul has extra ordinary powers nor did I ask if I should use it or not. Neither did I ask if K&N is better than stock or not nor did I say I'm installing K&N air filter.
My question was completely based on what mechanics do & if engine tuning & carb tuning are two different things. You replied that in few lines. Other information you provided was irrelevant.
Do tell me about the raaz behind your LOW FE !" A man is also known by the bike he rides :D "
