Thanks Bro. Before placing a complaint, let me ask my local mechanic to check the fuel capacity in reserve. For me I want to make sure the fuel knob works perfect with a consistent reserve capacity, even if its just 2 LTR.

    • Completed 500 on ODO

      Folks,

This weekend I have completed 500 on my GS. A few observations:

      1. The engine is smooth and sounds perfect.
      2. Gear shift is not accurate once the engine is heated up to full. Hope this will be sorted out after the run-in period and a couple of service.
      3. Rear brake seems to be not the best in class. As observed earlier in my post, a disc would have done the trick.
      4. Shocks are good and my back feels good.
      5. I have an issue with my digital fuel indicator and fuel knob. They don't sync and are not per user manual. Reported to SVC, as usual no help

      A BIG ISSUE:
There seems to be a problem in my bike chassis (not sure thou ). After driving for few KMs, I feel a pain in my right shoulder and in my wrist. I tried driving the bike without my hands on the handle bar and could feel the bike skews towards right side and I have to adjust my body weight to bring back the vehicle to stability. I reported the problem to SVC. The SE took the bike for a drive and also agreed about the problem. He adjusted the fork set. Even after that I have the same problem

I searched this thread and found this:

But I don't see any resolution to the issue.

What could be the reason for this?
      1. A fork bend?
      2. Tyre mis-alignment?
      3. Chassis issue?

      Please advice

There are only two mechs in this SVC. One guy for GS 150(named Balaji) nd the other guy for slingshot and access. i have no issues so far from this SVC.
You don't have to book for service, drop in directly in the morning around 8:45 to 9:30 AM and give the bike for servicing, you will get ur bike by 3-4 in the evening. I have been charged for oil and Rs.30 for consumables all the time, no extra charges so far.

I am satisfied so far(of course my expectations may be different: i just don't want them to mess my bike. Wash my bike, change engine oil, lube the relevant points, thats it).

Mate thanks for the information. I am just a bit tensed after reading the feedback of ASS of various brands. Just want to make sure they service the bike properly. Anyway to know for sure that they actually changed the engine oil and oil filter?

After reading your post, I tried riding with my hands off the handlebar and I was surprised to see my bike move to the right. Although I do not experience any pain due to this, I am a little worried about improper mounting of the chassis components and plan to report this during my next service. Please do keep updating about this issue. My bike has not had a single fall yet touchwood. This test was carried out in safe conditions keeping in mind the possible sloping of the road. Does anybody else have this issue?

Also, of late I experience jerking because of improper gear shifts(the gear indicator goes blank until i shift down and ride again). I have finished 1st service and the engine oil was changed just 250 kms back so I don't think it is a lubrication issue. Don't know if it will solve the problem but I am going to get the chain slackness checked and lubricate the chain.

              May sounds out of topic

In my car manual it was mentioned that car may tend to go towards side as most of the indian roads are made in slanting position lowered towards the side of the road

I mean center of the road is positioned higher than the side of the road that is the most common indian road design to have the water to get drained.

so bike going slowly towards right or left is not a problem, but any way check with SVC if it had a fall recently.

also try testing it in some other bikes the same thing will happen, remember not to risk your life on this sort of experiments

                Me!
My bike still is suffering from bad handling and this particular problem. Its strongly noticeable when Im riding with pillion where the biek pulls to teh right even with me gripping the handlebar firmly. The suspension components have been refitted and refitted again....yet the problem persists. Id check if the fork tube alignment is equal on both sides and if the handlebar alignment is ok first. Next on the culprit list is probably wheel bearings.
Im planning to get those done on my bike next service.

Also, of late I experience jerking because of improper gear shifts(the gear indicator goes blank until i shift down and ride again). Same cas3. I believe its due to lack of lubrication and excess slack on mine.

Though I also had another doubt in this. How much slack is there supposed to be in the throttle cable? I can push mine in at the carb to a fingernail's length.

                @msn1:
Our roads are slightly sloped to the left. If the bike swerves left, thats natural. If it goes right, thats a sign of a problem isnt it?

If I take two of my hands while riding, the bike kept its position straight in track(road)... I do like this at times to test the handle bar and the suspension..

In GS I don't face any problem riding in this setup.. But it shouldn't be like this right? The bike should on track regardless of whether we hold the handlebar or not...
Not answered yet and didnt find solution too..
But no pains on the wrist or at the shoulders..
Swaying is still present when both hands are taken off from the handle bar.,
Some inclination is on the handle bar (from stock itself) ie.left side is litlle inclined towards rider.. neither had a fall nor had a touchwood.,,same case in my brothers 2009 model too..

I am also facing this kind of problem, especially when I am riding with a pillion. My bike is tilting towards the right side.I also feel the handle bar is slightly bent.I told the service mechanic,he checked and said its fine. But I am not convinced

Actually I tried riding my TVS Victor on the same road without my hands on the handlebar and I had no issues handling the bike. But the same with GS, I need to move my self to my left from avoiding the bike from swaying to right. Any help?

For me its the other way around. I feel the left side is further away from my side. Can we report this issue to Suzuki?

                          • I guess, swaying is due to high ground clearance of our bike. And certainly it increases when you have co-rider. My father gets knee pains when do long trips together. Imagine the pain I get in my wrists when he shifts weight from side to side.

CoG moves further from ground and we get more instability in handles.
Guess, we need to increase side weights much as a rope walker to get balance.

Has anybody tried using the karizma zmr end weights on only one side? It seems heavier but is it heavy enough?

                              • Its the problem with Fuel knob

To my dismal they told me that the reserve capacity is 2 LTR and also the fuel indicator starts to blink on nearing the same 2 LTR . I told them about the manual, but again those morons started arguing with me. I think I need to figure out myself the whole mess now
In the weekend I was experimenting with the fuel knob and found that it is the culprit here. On Saturday I hit reserve. Filled exactly 1 LTR and kept the knob in main. After driving for 5 KM, the bike stopped. I placed the knob in reserve position drove it for some distance and again turned it back to main (while driving). Even after that, the bike didn't stop. I hope the problem is with the knob. Fuel gets discharged even if the knob is kept in reserve and tank has less than the reserve capacity and this phenomenon is not consistent. Now Iam going to have a tough time explaining the same with the SVC
