i already placed my question in that tooOriginally posted by 2strokerama View PostThis thread is for discussions related to the GS. Im sure you can find proper suggestions to your question if you post it in the "what bike" section.
On my part, I'll say you would'nt be wrong if you listen to your impulse.

But thought of placing the same here.. may get valuable feedback

(I guess motul costs around 750 what about the rest)
and I've confirmed that the last one can of oil I used in my bike is Motul 300V 4T 15W-50, its exactly whats written on the empty can.
So I'm not sure about 15W-40.
motul semi synthetic is not at all available in XXw40 grade it is available only in full synthetic which costs u around 750bucksI can put any Signatures :P

I guess Gs is one of the bike with good height and ground clearance when compared to FZs, RTRs. I find it hard to ride my frieds FZ which usually rubs most of speed breaker because of its height and flexible monocross.Originally posted by 2strokerama View PostYeah, very hard to find fault though I can manage a couple now that Ive used it for over a year and 10000 km.
Given the mostly sad condition of the roads on my commute(and bangalore in general), I kind of keep wishing for a more manouverable bike with larger ground clearence so I can ride over stone and gravel strewn, potholed and bumpy roads and footpaths without much drama in my attempts to beat the traffic. Ive scraped the bottom of the bike's exhaust more than once in my attempts to "beat the traffic".
But of course, Im nitpicking.
By the way, congrats!
I feel that bike is ideal for those who are tall and strong. I normally have tough time in getting the bike out of the parking area(pushing)
. surely not for lean 20 year odds like me.
Inspite of all that i am blown out by this bikes mileage and smoothness

FZ - Cool looking bike, best suited for city/street riding, anything above that and the bike sucks. Very light in weight, for me to lift my ZMA while parking in theaters is a Herculean task, where as if we take my friends FZ, its as simple as lifting a cycle with a rice sack meaning if well balanced then everythings ok, Sporty riding posture but back hurts after a while, after 6k on the tacho you get real high.
GS150R - Not so cool looking, best suited for open roads/highways, anything less than that and the bike noticeably sucks(same as my ZMA). Relaxed riding posture, and the thing I likes the most is its unique gear shifter, its one of a kind.
Edit-
Oops forgot the pillion,
On both bikes the rear seat sucks from a female pillions point of view, cause in my friends FZ his mom's real uncomfortable sitting sideways due to the narrow seat, and in the GS150R, the seat was too high, even after climbing on the saree guard that my relative got scared than she dropped the idea.
From a male point of view, only the FZ's rear seat sucks, cause I ride pillion on both FZ and Fazer, and the rear seat, though sporty, starts to hurt after a few kms of riding.
On the GS150R, the seats comfortable to sit on, but thats not the best part when you sit pillion, you feel like sitting on a sports bike due to the unique stance same experience felt with the New CBZX and R15v2.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 02-02-2012, 09:37 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

1. What do you mean by this literature? Kindly translate it in to simple English.
2. Which bike among FZ, ZMA, GS, CBZX, R15V2 and Fazer is good for a 6 feet 2 inch one like Gagan in your opinion?Last edited by punarvasu; 02-02-2012, 11:30 PM.

^^ I'm 5'7" and the height problem with gs only is when I am trying to back it over a bump or something as I can't properly plant my feet on the ground. While riding I feel that the pegs could be even lower and it would be no problem.
My bike's mileage seems to have gone down the past 2k odd kms(down from ~55kmpl to ~46kmpl which is very noticeable). I did oil change at ~1.5k and ~6.2k kms (svc guy was saying that only top-up necessary in previous services) and the current odo reading is 8612kms. After the second oil change I had felt the engine become noticeably smoother and I was actually expecting even better mileage for that reason but the opposite happened
Also, I am maintaining air pressure as recommended here (25 & 33psi) and drive at 4-5k rpm and rarely go beyond 70kmph. I've not tried lubing the chain, changing spark plug etc as I am not familiar with bikes or mechanically minded in general.
What could be possible reasons for the drop in mileage?Last edited by chiron; 02-02-2012, 11:43 PM.

Dont know how., the rough engine sound which I mentioned earlier has got reduced after two days ie.approx 200kms from the 3rd service...
So,is it because of oil change.?
Yesterday got a call from my SVC .. They called me to get the feedback of the problems I mentioned.. Glad they are doing this too..

That means you changed the oil after riding 4700 kms. The recommended maximum interval is 100 days or 4000 kms.Originally posted by chiron View PostI did oil change at ~1.5k and ~6.2k kms (svc guy was saying that only top-up necessary in previous services) and the current odo reading is 8612kms.
Most of us are changing the oil and oil filter in every 2000-2500 kms.
Is there any oil leakage in your bike making the top up necessary?

Just mentally separate each comment after the 'Coma'.
ZMA or GS or CBZX. - Purely based on my opinion.2. Which bike among FZ, ZMA, GS, CBZX, R15V2 and Fazer is good for a 6 feet 2 inch one like Gagan in your opinion?
Reason for the above statement is cause, no matter what people say, its the riders comfort that matters, meaning if I'm 6 feet 2 inches and still like to ride a TVS Champ, then no more comments required, Champ it is.
Theres a guy in my college, he owns FZ,P220 and R6(Bought from a fellow Xbhpian). He's like so tall that, I dont know what to say, I'm guessing something above 6 5' and 7. Yet he's comfortable riding all 3 of the bikes.Motorcycling Experience:
