You bought the bike on 2/2/2012, the day before yesterday? If so, the leak you noticed may be water stored in the chain cover while washing in the SC. Ignore it if there is no smell of petrol. Anyway, keeping the fuel valve closed while you park the bike is better.Originally posted by Cher View PostGot bike on Feb 2.. Rode about 80 km daily commute yesterday.. As per advice seen in this community, riding below 4K rpm and below 50 kmph speed for the first 1000 kms.. hope this is correct.. are there more precautions during running-in?
Noticed petrol dripping when bike is parked for the night.. does it have to do with the position of the on-off-res knob?
Right indicator does not work..
Odo seems to show more km covered than actual..
Thanks and regards..
Check the indicator again and if it is faulty get it repaired at the SC.Last edited by punarvasu; 02-04-2012, 12:40 PM.

Today gave my bike for servicing...
Guys during my conversation with the showroom person i found that the recently displayed Swish 125 will be launched next week.My showroom received the products brochure already and ordered 5 bikes which they are expecting by this month end.For hayate, its uncertain about its launch date.If you ride like there's no tomorrow there won't be...

^^ Same here....Id been to my local SC today and saw a swish parked there. Looks nice, better than access, but crappy meters and dials. Thats odd for a suzuki product. If not anything else, atleast the console usually looks nice.
@all: had some work doen on the bike. Had the suspension assembly removed and refitted, had the ball bearings greased.....and god knows how, the suspension seems sorted now. I never expected this frm just a refitting. But too early to say yet....need to run a thorough test on my regular route and maybe the hills to say anything for sure.

I was digging through some old posts and found this bit of info posted by sam9s, the thread starter. Has anyone done this? Is there a parallel for this on the GS's without that adjustment mechanism?Ok first and formost, the toe shifter can be so very easily adjusted, I am not sure about other bikes but this one has a very nifty and neat adjustment mech...... very much like you adjust the brake light, a centrally located nut is present which is held in position by another nut, just below the gear shifter, u just loose the other nut and simply using your own hands rotate the centrally located nut, which in turn would adjust the height of the gear shifter in either direction you want........very handy and thoughtfully placed adjustment.Last edited by 2strokerama; 02-04-2012, 04:30 PM.

you mean it was reassembled @SVC? were you able to find out the cause of the stiffness observed earlier despite the new fork oil in place?Originally posted by 2strokerama View Post@all: had some work doen on the bike. To be honest, I didn't like that setup. I think it was a last minute thought from Suzuki towards positioning the gear shifter.I was digging through some old posts and found this bit of info posted by sam9s, the thread starter. Yes, I tried to adjust it couple of months back and found the default position is best for heel shifting(up-shifts). The free play of gear lever was annoying and adjustment was not helping. Hence used some silkwire(copper) to tighten the free play of lever. It's better now. There is no honest path to prosperity - KoKa

Thanks, Vikhyath.. the leak seems to have stopped now, maybe it must have been water as Punarvasu mentioned.. Thanks..Originally posted by vikhyath View PostFirstly, Congratulations on your new possession. I got my new bike just a day before you.
The technique you are following is right. Just remember to ride in the correct gear and accelerate slowly. If you ride continuously, then take breaks in between.
Check whether the petrol pipe is in place correctly or get it checked by a local mechanic if the SVC is not nearby. Also, remember to turn off the fuel knob at night.
It seems that the mechanics have not checked the connections before delivering the bike to you. Get it checked again.
The Odometer is fairly accurate. Are you sure that the odo was on zero when the bike was delivered to you?
From my perspective, it looks like the mechanics were in a hurry when they prepared your bike for delivery.

Yes, at the SC. No, they did too many things for me to isolate the cause. The fork oil wasnt touched though. So, its a big confusion how the suspension feels better now. it definitely feels stable-r now...the bike felt composed during some fast corners even with a pillion, but im still not sure if its as good as original.....i'll update on that and any more findings after i thoroughly test it out tomorrow or the day after.

what setup?
how did you adjust your shifter? Im not sure what either sam9s or you are referring to.
Yeah, the freeplay in the shifter is very annoying. i also wanted to get rid of that and get the shifter a bit loewer since i only use the toe shifter. did you just wrap the wire around the shifter's fixture? what exactly did you do?
i found that the new batch of gs's have a precise feeling shifter. can anyone comment on this?

Yes, on 02/02/2012.. even today, petrol dripped when the knob is in on-position..Originally posted by punarvasu View PostYou bought the bike on 2/2/2012, the day before yesterday? But don't you think that tank bags ruin the looks of the bike, and even leave scratches on the tank after a few months?Originally posted by vikhyath View PostYou can buy tank bags and saddle bags.
I think having a backpack can be a better solution for carrying objects instead of stuffing them in tank bags
(Though saddle bags can be good since you only put them on when you go out for a journey, i.e. not everyday)

Guys, I inquired about GS150R with dealers in Pune, they said that the bike already comes with oil in it, so there's no way I can get a bike in which engine oil is not yet filled, so any other way of knowing whether the bike is used???
Also, whats the odo reading when you get the bike for the first time?
And which color is best according to you guys?

By tankbags I mean something like thisOriginally posted by Gagan0123 View PostBut don't you think that tank bags ruin the looks of the bike, and even leave scratches on the tank after a few months?
I'm not referring to the overpriced tank cover given by the dealer as accessory. You can prevent scratches by taping the tank exactly at the places where the magnets of the bag bind.
Odometer reading is not reliable because it can be disconnected by the mechanics. Try to note whether the tyre markings are present. I'm referring to the coloured lines on new tyres. The odo on my bike showed 1 km at the time of delivery.Originally posted by Gagan0123 View PostGuys, I inquired about GS150R with dealers in Pune, they said that the bike already comes with oil in it, so there's no way I can get a bike in which engine oil is not yet filled, so any other way of knowing whether the bike is used???

The colour choice is subjective. Black colour suits all tastes and situations. Orange colour is bold and unique and Blue colour helps maintain a low profile. If you want to be noticed, go for the white colour. In today's world, quotes don't matter. Quotas do!
