Whenever i apply the rear brake, the bike skids.
    This happened twice today.
I almost fell the second time.
    I apply both brakes.
I need to correct this before i have a fall.
Please suggest me some corrective measures.

Apart from working on your braking technique, you can have the rear brake adjusted to a looser setting. Word of caution, this will require more effort for you to stop the bike.

Sorry, I thought the tank bag that most people are using on their bikes, which is seldom used, and leaves behind only marks on the tank.

Ok buddy, will look for those on the bike, though if you can send a pictorial representation, it would be great as I am not aware of such colors on tyres so will be easy for me to find and confirm, once I see the pics.

Going to settle for black, as my mobiles are black, my laptop is black even my computer is completely black, so it will add up to my collection of black color possessions. Still I'm gonna miss the chrome type look near the Fuel Knob which gives my current bike a cool look(its Gray, 2009 model)

Notice the coloured lines in the images. Most new tyres have such markings.

if these wont be present, I'll just don't buy the bike from that dealer.....

              Gagan,
The test riding I have mentioned was about the new batch of GS arrived in the show room to find out the difference in the performance of it and is not a usual or common practice in show rooms. The new bike is common in every showroom now and the no one is eager to ride it any more for testing.
More than that, the mechanics cannot test ride any bike without the consent of the engineer or supervisor in the S C.
So, don’t be over bothered about the misusing of the bike and remember that you are not present with the salesman when he takes it for registration purpose.
I have seen a lot of new GSs, Access 125s, SlingShots and other Suzuki two wheelers when they reach the show room but none with the marks you mentioned on the tires. The reason may be that MRF is not making marks on the tyres for GS but I am not sure about it.
Below is the picture of the tire of new GS pushed for about 15-20 METERS to the SC from the show room. Think again before deciding to not buy the bike without those marks on tires.

I bought my bike recently and found these markings to be present on the tyres.

A clear picture of the rear tyre is not with me now. I shall verify it again today and correct myself if it is so.

                  • what assembly?
Around a thousand pages back in this thread, there was a discussion about "GS's Gear Shifter" in details. And how difficult it is for toe-shifting(up-shifting) in GS compared to other bikes.

Apparently, there were two types of levers in GS150R alone. Older one seems to have an adjustment assembly, like the one we have for breaks. That was elegant I feel. In the latter one this assembly was replaced by a simple rod, not sure why. My GS is Oct-2010 make and it resembles the latter.

                    Attached pictures for reference.

If someone who owns the newer(2012) GS150R could upload some images, it would of great help.

PS: Congratulations to people/person who have/has put significant effort in increasing GS's mileage in the above poll! Hat's off Hope you're getting something out of it!!

I guess I can now just turn on the bike's engine and let her speak for herself what her condition is, and the bike won't lie to me about it. It she says she's fine, I'll buy it on the spot. The problem will be I need a bike in Pune, I'll reach there on 22nd morning and will buy the bike the same day.

Don't you already own this bike? Why are you buying a new one?

If this is meant for me, Im already aware of this. A while back, I was even planning to replace the rod with the adjusting mechanism. I had posted a query here a while back regarding the same but never got a reply.

+lol....349 gs users are getting above 70 mileage. They must have bought suzuki heat by mistake.
                          ----------

                          @ bangalore guys:
I had an excursion to jc road today in search of ngk cpr7hsa, the stock spark plug. to my dismay, not one store had it. I was even told at one store that ngk stopped producing them. I called 2 other SCs apart from saptagiri and it seems all have adopted the champion plug. Looks like we will just have to believe that company knows best and settle for the champion plugs. So, the champion plug is a colder one right?

                          @ all:
Is the above the same case in other cities too? Any idea what spark plugs are being fitted on the new bikes these days?

                          ------

Now a question to iridium plug users....notably punarvasu and mach50. I wanted to try the iridium plug myself since I run my bike at high rpms throughout my commute and I might stand to gain something from it. But Im a bit curious on the performance aspect since the plug(cr7hix) is a non projected tip one. So, I just wanted to hear your experiences with it.

Also, if a non-projected iridium tip works, should'nt a non projected conventional tip as well? So, is cr7hsa a viable alternative?

One more thing, how did you arrive at the conclusion that cr7hix is a viable alternative?

Yes I do own a bike, I got it almost one and a half year ago, but I bought a second hand bike since the reviews of the bike were not so overwhelming that time or maybe coz people didn't knew this bike so bought for testing. Now I am moving to Pune(currently I am in Bhilwara) for job, so I'll need a bike there also, and the bike at home is also used by my Dad, so thought I can leave it here and go to Pune and buy a new bike instead of taking this one. As I really love what I already have, I am not even giving a thought about any other bike. Its best for me provided the budget. Will be buying GSX1000R after an year or so and then will move to GSX1300R...... Suzuki's reliability and quality is what I trust......

Wow....must be an awesome job to let you afford the gsx1000r in just a year's span.

I wish I could get a job like that. I'd buy a rmz250 and just hit the road (and unroad) for a destination unknown part deux.

For me, I respect and prefer a suzuki over the others more for thoughtful design and good practicality than any illusion of superior reliability. Way of life indeed. God knows Id suffer more without a clock in the console and a gear indicator than with the 40 kmpl i'm getting now.
