The fuel tank is antirust Teflon coated now. And that is not the only change in new GSR.

              • Each of the side panels costs Rs. 1710/- and the tank Rs. 4700/-. The SC will help you to repaint the bike with same color paint. [/QUOTE]

                Thanks punarvasu for the info.

Same colour paint do you mean pearl nebular black (code YAY)....is that possible
and yes the SVC guy told me that he will give my bike to the company and they will repaint it...something fishy here i guess

The 2010 model has the colour pearl nebular black or just nebular black???

                Thanks

                • Thanks for the reply..

went to service centre today, came to know we need to book before 10 days for servicing.. although my bike has done 820 km in 13 days, and so is ready for first service, the service centre people said they have lots of vehicles waiting service, so they gave me March 1st as the date for first service, and they said i can continue riding till then.. but if i ride till then, i will cross 1500 km.. they said it is ok.. but is it really ok? i am planning to stop riding once i reach 950 km and then wait till March 1st..

                      Not ok man.

"1st service is the most important service. Make sure you observe it on time." Im quoting the manual from memory....so, excuse the lack of exactness in wording.

A few hundred km too early is ok but not a few hundred km late.

Either seek out some other SC that can do the service on time or just wait till the date given by this SC, like you planned.

Me too because the company (Suzuki) is not doing repainting jobs at their factory. But the SC knows good painting workshops where these works are done. In this sense, I think, you can trust them.
No need to bother about the color as the professional painter knows how to mix it.

I am not to say anything about the attitude of the SC mechanics. Try to bring it to the notice of the company. Someone here may be able to help you in this matter.
Do you know how to change oil? If yes, buy an oil filter from the SC and oil you like (preferably 20W40 mineral) from the authorized dealer and change both the filter and oil yourself now. It is an easy job.

For the validity of the warranty, give the service coupon to the SC and ask them to record the first service with oil and filter change as done. They will do it happily.

He's expecting some necessary tools to arrive at the earliest for this work..

                              Let see what happens..
