Some of us, especially gmagesh and firegun, are riding 100-150 kms daily. animeher seems to be a regular long distance rider.

        Edit.

Well, that applies to my Splendor as well! Or even a TVS 50! But one will get real saddle sores and back pain. I wanted to know if it is comfortable.

This is worth than what most of people try to modify like fitting expensive air filters , sparkplugs, tyres , though they offer direct fit , but arent people attempting to install rear wheel disk brake either which too is unnecessary.
oops I am sorry i was little busy in my LAB, and sure we will continue this discussion in coming days

Try a long distance ride on any of your friends GS.

              • Please help to decide on a bike

                Hi All,

Please help me out with this. I know this question is a bit irrelevant to this thread. But still.

I am going to take a 150 bike (decent mileage, power, comfort). I had shortlisted it between unicorn and GS150R. I even decided on GS. But now, I am having second thoughts. I dont know whether I am going to make a decision that I regret in an year or 2 (suzukis being scarcely seen on road and availabilty of spareparts being an issue).

Please help me out. I am living near Ernakulam, Kerala.

If you were me, which one would you choose GS or Unicorn??

Since you'd shortlisted the bike., you can simply take a test drive and decide which one to go for.,,

Spare-parts availability? .,. I consider Engine oil & Fuel are the two things much for this bike., And they too are readily/easily available till now wherever I'd went., I'm saying that it's a trouble free bike., you dont need to have second thought for spares l....

PS:: In my City the no. of GS are increasing more and more every month.,.

OT :: I've been trying for the last 6months to procure a Merrone Color Headlight dome & Assembly, Merrone Color front Mudguard and Two mirrors for my Hero Honda Passion Plus.,. What I could say about this.,.?

GS is with 13.8 bhp power @ 8500 rpm and 13.4 Nm torque at relatively low 6000 rpm and is sufficient for a commuter bike.
Mileage depends the condition of the bike, the road you go through and your riding style.
Do a test ride before your final decision.

Spare parts is not an issue with GS. Head light assembly was readily available at showroom for my bike which is 2011 model for that particular color. This is the best from Suzuki in India as of now. Unicorn is also a good bike , but servicing cost will be too high and is a bit old now.

What usually happens is increasing the cost of spare parts but in case of GS, it is decreasing. Cost of many spare parts has notably decreased now.

                            • Hello guys,

I got my gs black 4 days back.
                              Bike is lovely. no doubt.

But I noticed that the engine firing is not consistent.
Sometime is smooth deep grunt, sometimes its rough at start and then fades up after some time.

Also, I've noticed that, on starting in the morning, while idling at zero throttle some abrupt metalik rattling sound like khad-khad-khad comes for a second or so. I keeps coming after every 10 sec or so. The sound can be very clearly heard. Then when I take a ride for some time, the sound vanishes at idling.

                              Has somebody noticed this sound?

Do you get this sound when you switch off the engine like a sound of coin falling in the bowl of oil.
