    • First Service

I did my first service yesterday. These are my observations, please check anything is unusual.
      • Changed engine oil and filter
      • Tightened nuts and bolts
      • Did teflon coating
      • I am not feeling any remarkable change in riding comforts, but I am happy. Not feeling that much power as earlier.
      • Had some trouble in starting the engine yesterday night after riding 5-6 kms from service center, and whole thing happened when fuel level went to 'reserve'. I had to use kick start for almost 30-40 times, was feeling that fuel is not getting. Later filled another 4 ltr, but problem continued. But today morning it was fine with starting. But, having a 'missing' feeling while riding in 6th gear, I was quiet disturbed with that feeling. Any body had similar experience? Tomorrow I will take my GS to service center again to get a clarification on these.
      • RPM is not rising as before while applying throttle.

      Thanks.

Teflon coating is as good as any other polishing but most of us are avoiding it due to the large amount they levy for it. To keep the shining, wash and wax the bike regularly with some good car shampoo and wax polish. I am using Armor All Wash and Wax shampoo and their STP Son Of A Gun Wax. Many other excellent products are available in the market among which Collinite 845 is heard to be the best.

They charged Rs.600 for teflon coating, with one year warranty and a free re service in the next year. I didn't/couldn't think about wax polish at that time

Here it is 450/- with two more free polishing. You can buy Armor All Wash & Wax shampoo and their Wax & Polish wax for Rs. 650/-, which is enough for more than 50 cleaning and waxing. It gives good result too. Buy it and start regular polishing after a fortnight or so.

              • Arrey I didn't go to the SC. I have never in 2 years been to a service center. I was standing on his head for 5 hours of service. He has lubricated there & he's also rubbed the brake pads with the sand paper, washed, cleaned. I haven't done the brakes yet because of time issues but will do it today & I know it'll be fine.

Nice. That mechanic will never forget you. But the oil filter needs to changed between the first 750-1000 kms. The next change is due between 7500-8000 kms and thereafter in every 8000 kms.
If it is not yet changed, do it now.

                          • Hello everyone, This is my first post. I was following xBhp for a while though. I'm planning to get GS150R next month... I was spending days and days on this thread. Read most of the posts. Most of the GSpians are completely happy. So going to get a white beauty soon

                              Hello,
Make sure you build a good rapport with the sales manager. This might be useful in the long run.

Oh yes he seem pissed in the evening & kept telling me that aaj mere khana bananeka din hai, ab main jaa raha hun. Lol
Now if I change oil filter then it'll need 100ml oil right? Where do I get it from? Or buy new can, use 100ml & keep other for future? But I'm out of money.
Suggest some oil filter also. Or the stock is okay?
