@ Abdul,
It was 70% city ride, and to my surprise in city due to heavy rain from past few days there was frequent watter logging in road resulting in traffic jam. still i got this mileage, i have touched 60 kmph 2-3 times and rest of the time travelling within 30-55 range.
I had reset tripmeter last time when bike came to reserve and put 100 rs petrol(approximately 1.71 leter fuel). bike travelled 114.4 km

Exactly now iam thinking asking the SC guys not to fiddle with carb settings.

@madhav krishna:i did jetting ... and i don't think 40 or below 40 is good figure as mileage,that too for GS!! my GS once gave 66 for 1 ltr of petrol..R TO R !! now its below 40...feeling a lot..!!

All GSpians Please please have your say on this: for getting good mileage and engine life,what should be my driving style
1.to maintain RPM 4.5 IN ALL GEARS
ie:16~1st gear
28~2nd gear
38~3rd gear
46~4th gear
52~5th gear
60 above 6th gear
(or)
2.to shift gears as per my wish for example 6th gear @ 40,etc..
pls post your comments!!
AND WHAT IS THE EXACT FUEL N RESERVE CAPACITY OF GS !!??

guys could u plzz tell me the problem with the engine all r replacing engine bore and piston my bike is 2009 model

my question is how the engine sounds ? ny audio sample plzzz so that i can confirm whether my bike has ny problem

Hi not all 2009 model are replaced with B&P...only few(include mine)...difficult to put a audio sample..its better to check in ur city ,who have 2009 model ...and test drive their bike....other then engine sound an additional bad sound will come after some km ran...Me went to service center and met fellow 2009 GS owners ride their bike and feel the difference...He himself tell me what a bad sound from ur bike....

So far no 2010 model reported with this problem so never try that one

....

dont try new model dual tone color GS.....Try to ride 2009 model who come for service...why i m telling this is NEW GS 2010 model have different sound due to silencer(new type)...more over No manufacture defect ....but if u like 2 test drive to feel the 2010 model. go ahead....How much ur odo now ... Mine 14500km on odo..Again run-in for 1000km due to B&P replacement .....the above sound issue is almost vanished due to new B&P..

good that your problems got solved after B&P replacement. How is your mileage now? any improvement?

Thanks vinod for giving ur link having excellent pics ...
my bike ran only 500km after b&p... so can't comment till i finish run-in ...anything above 50 is nice....initially i am geting 46-49range which is not good ...52kmpl where i get before these issues started......
U are free lancer or working for any magazine as journalist ??
