Any way i am initially inclined for Yamaha SZ-x but after reading this thread am increased my budget and selected GS-150R and got it on Last week of October, now my odo@1100KMs. Till now its a good experiance with it.

I didn't heard about any upgrades for GS-150R in near future....

if you have a 35 w philips then no point putting LEDs....

Is it a RTR smoker????........... only people out of their hashed up minds would think so.
So its Honda refinement.........no that has gone for a toss.
          Then what is it ???
          A wannabe CB1000R.

I love it big,I like it chunky,
I love it cheap,I like it cranky,

          Suzuki please bring the Bking,
          only for this Junkie(MACH50).........

If Suzuki chooses to launch another 150,then it will surely have the 16bhp engine of Raider 150 this time, because Suzuki believes in real time performance and not wannabe

Thats plain injustice to a product that earned them revenue and foothold in India in a market dominated by the Pulsars and Pulsar is a brand, not product,so it was a tough arena then.Honda does the same thing to Unicorn what it had done to Rossi, years ago in MotoGP.

And people are finally getting to know the GS150R,the versatile and ultimate 150cc bike.Well Honda pays for its injustice to Unicorn, none of us can help it.Our hard earned money would obviously go for the best.

Suzuki has already learnt from its mistake,I hope.Just think what would have been Suzuki's brand equity today if their first offering in India would have been the GS150R along with the 125s..............they would have grown stronger than the Honda !!!!
yes definitely.......and i forgot Bking.....there's some speculation about the 250cc chotu Bking along with the real beast expected in june11!!!!

shyaa........we cannot use it to the optimum power though.....i am trying some stuff in order to do that and if i get the calculations right then will put the bigger bulb in the assy.....

Great, you are enjoying Eastern express highway everyday. Sometimes, i just go with my wife for a round to palm beach road at night, just to enjoy the GSR
So where do you give GSR for servicing?
I had once given to riya suzuki in mulund, not very good. searching for a better place nearby. my GSR completed 2750km, soon ready for the 2nd service.

Maestro, last month i scouted the whole of Grant road for a bottle of motul 20w40 & 10w30 oil & headlight. Only in 1 place got motul & could find only phillips premium.

i always thought that you get everything in mumbai, but our friends in south seems to have better luck than us.

              • I brought my bike from Dolphin Suzuki, Ghatkopar and given for 1st service also to them. I got good mileage (50+), so i instructed them to do not touch the engine settings. With that first service i can't judge them because i reported them only Headlight adjustment and chaine tight. Then done it and given back with in 3 hours.

So as for service is ok, there is a guy called Vishal and he can listen to u and help.

i tried on ebay but the price they are mentioning is too demanding as they are the sole distributors present there....asking price 1650(2 bulbs)+250(handling).....and you cant order single bulb

                  • now my GS running on gulf pride

Those who found getting motul is hard are able to get gulf. Vice versa for those guys who can reach motul.

I already got fedup with sick shell oil, today got a call from my area gulf stockist gone there and picked two for 420 got 50 the rupees discount so the effective price is 370

After changeing driven almost 30kms gear changing is smooth and the engine sound is suppressed and it sounds cool. Happy with gulf already used motul soon will give a comparison between gulf and motul.

                    • guys i am bit confused regarding oils now....my GS is 7.5k kms old 2009 model i have been feeding her motul3000 4t plus 20W40 for her in past....as i read somewhere back that i can switch to semi synthetic so what would be the best option a 10W40 grade or a 15W40 grade......

I have noticed one more thing that after feeding the beast with motul it becomes smooth the engine noise redduces to great extent but when i rev hard really hard i.e. continously more than 100kmph on the speedo for a nice 10-15 mins the engine sound returns back to haunt me again....from then onwards even if the engine is cold the noise irritates me......
what could be the possible solution?

Brother how many kms done with the current motul oil ?

the oil changing frequency differs and in case of long ride and top end speed ride you have to check the oil (colour, viscosity) if it is pitch black and engine response is slightly rough then change the oil

price wise as well as quality wise their is not much difference between mineral and semi synthetic.

most manufactures makes semi synthetic in the following proposition (75 % to 80 % mineral oil + 20% to 25% synthetic oil = semi synthetic oil)

oil change interval of semi synthetic is same as mineral.

believe it or not most of the semi synthetic available here is not better than
                        motul mineral.

i used shell and castrol semi synthetic both are no where close to the performance of the motul 3000 plus

you can try some other brand or motul semi synthetic

even i am also at 7.5 k on odo

Whoa! You travel that Powai road, that road has a bottleneck near IIT Market. How do you control your beast in that heavy traffic? The traffic is quite pathetic especially in the evening. And even i saw about 5-6 GS nearby Kurla and even at Goregaon. Is it gaining popularity in Mumbai?

I usually travel through IIT between 8:30PM to 10PM. As my height is good(5'11''), i can easily control it and manage through the cars, buses and trucks lane . It takes 10-20 minutes to reach Eastern Express highway from Powai Pizzahut. Total journey from Andheri-E to Airoli is 35-45 minutes depends upon trafiic jam at Gandhi nagar cross.

Yeah, i have heard bikers coming from colaba & other far places to ride on this patch. Sometimes when my head is not working or i am too stressed, i go for a long drive till kharghar via palm beach road. Most refreshing experience especially at late nights.
This might sound stupid, but i don't know where Ulhasnagar is. Can you give me directions from vashi how to reach Ulhasnagar. Does the service centre guys allow you to use your own oil?

i have got two bottles of motul from grant road. After these are finished i will surely go to mulund.
Thats too much to pay for a headlight. Maybe you can get another guy to take 1 bulb & pay 50% for the bulb.
