Okk Guys I have done like 100Kms On my GS till Now and some of you Told that at 3.5K you can experience a resonance after i increase or decrease the throttle a bit it goes away. Also i think i hear the Chain hitting a chain guard little sound coming grrrgrrr type don't know if it is the chain or something else. These are two things i have found so far.

i too met with minor accident...and i claimed insurance(iffco-tokio) for handle bar, headlight dome(outer structure)..protective shield surrounding the instrument panel, front gaurd..thats it and it costed me about rs 5000/- and i got only 3000 from insurance company....they told that they have reimbursed 4000,but due to deprciasion of gs(1300) for a three month old gs.is deducted.
Thanks,

Hey arun.....First show it to your suzuki guyz and confirm about the damaged parts......and these people will know about the intensity of damage and tell you whether the particular part can be reimbursed after agreed upon by the insurance surveyor.....their is no rule that the parts you feel damaged are totally covered under insurance, unless it is oked by the surveyor....Originally posted by Arun Prasad View Postya i am safe with minor injury.. but my bike got small scratches.. and my frds told handle bar is ok.. but i felt it bent slightly.. can i change l those minor scratched parts under insurance.. what is the procedure for claiming the insurance. mine also (iffco - tokio)accident happened on sat night.. shall i claim it now.
Iron parts are 90% reimbursed(they tell that they will 100% reimburse) and fiber parts are 50% reimbursed...
After confirming the feasibility with Suzuki guyz...call to the toll free number of iffco toki0...given on insurance papers given to you.....please remember your cover note number....and explain the accident date and time..they will assign you claim to a surveyor near to you and sms his details to you..call him tell all the story
Caution:Please call, call center once you confirm all the things only.if you called call center and than decided not to cliam insurance ...it will be problem in futhur......
Thanks,
Nag.

@arun my advice to you don't take the insurance for the sake of taking it if lets say the damage is for about 1500 Rs you better pay yourself since you will be earning the No Claim bonus Which is better since you will never get 1500. For plastics the depreciation is flat 50% and accessories are not covered.
If the damage is too much then claim insurance makes more sense than claiming for pity expenses since you will stand to loose.

@sanjukoli12: You can and should use clutchless shifting for upshifts. But it should be done only above 4.5k rpm. For downshifting, using clutch is recommended, though you can do it.
So don't worry, not using clutch while shifting gears doesn't have anything to do with the condition of clutch plates!

Done with 1st servicing..
Hi All,
Today my bike is done with the 1st servicing...
The SC guy was very helpful and rectfied the issue i faced..
now there is no noise from my bike while driving..
the noise was due to lake of oiling to a part (rightly mentioned by Anup
).... he did is nicely and told me how to do again if i found any issue...
The guy did all servicing in front of me and told that i rode the bike very nicely as per the condition of the bike.....
he really gave me lots of information about bike as well as about the how to do the regular check up of the bike...
Now my bike is much more smooth and now i can ride it as fast as
i can
...
Cheers,
Kiran

Finally I did a good Long Ride on the Highway total Km Done 70 Most of the Times in 6the gear with Speed ranging from 50-60 Did a top speed of 68 Just to check out. The Drive is irresistible At 60 on 4.2k RPM it was so good so smooth. the gear shifts have become better but i do feel a noise of some kind which i mentioned probably the chain noise Except that everything was good one thing i noticed that the Console is visible even when the sun is above you which some other bikes lack.
Overall Very satisfied the Bike is giving around 50 KMPL as far as i can guess though haven't checked it properly will do that soon.
I will be driving it again today at night want to see how the HeadLights are.

Guys need some Help I am hearing a lot of click click sound from the engine when it is idling or when accelerating earlier i though it was some plastic but i can clearly hear it now. Though the engine has done like 170Kms so i am not thinking about it but still the sound is some time irritating and i can hear it with a lid on as well. Is this Normal?
@anup i checked the Carb on new GS yes it states Padmini lol .
Also had a real scare I Rode through some Water and the Bike was sliding i don't know how but Survived a fall for sure. I didn't expect the Tyres to be so problematic even though they are new. This was when there was some stagnant water, what happens when there is rain?Last edited by adi231189; 06-01-2010, 07:26 PM.
