So that problem you mentioned could have corrected by yourself.

    @ Akfara

The two stroke engine is simple, there are few moving parts compared to four stroke. The main drawback was that it didnt have a dedicated lubrication system like four stroke and also since there are no valves some of the incoming fuel air mixture escapes through output port. Since the oil is added with the fuel it tend to be deposited in the ports and that's what you mentioned by cleaning and polishing. Two stroke engine are easy to work with, from the point of mechanic.

But these four strokes are very complicated. But they are lot eco friendly than two strokes. But for a two stroke fan, four stroke is still boring to drive. My friends father still drives an RX-100, it shines better than my GS.

So that may be the reason why they changed carburetor. Let's see the mileage of 2010 GS.

Can you explain about that advertisement.

If you are interested about two strokes this link will help
    HowStuffWorks "How Two-stroke Engines Work"
    Thanks bro again for info....
about the advertisement i forgot full details ,they TVS compare honda with 5 to 6 differences, in my mind i remember 1st only "less moving parts" V/s "More moving parts" they put diagram of moving part too
The mech who works for pulsar previously(now suzuki) is always busy, bcos he is a lone service man here ,So he hesitate to talk freely .and He don't like me to inform suzuki abt problems...He thought his image is spoiled more over owner(SC) intereption there....
Abt cleaning and polishing ,What u told is decarbonize the carbon deposit frequently due to excess 2T oil, but what i try to say is shaving head and porting(for RX 100 they put modified reed valve(see diagram u posted) and expansion chamber(silencer)) to improve performance

        • If it's only idling tuning, even amateurs like us can do it by trial and error method. As an average the best setting would be 1400 when engine is hot. Usually it drops to 1100 on cold starts. This works for almost everyone.
Tomorrow Im going to ask about changing oil to service centre. I didnt do much riding last two days, today when i started bike it felt so smooth, after 10 min ride that feel is gone. I think its because the oil is nearing its changing interval now ODO shows 5850.

And i remember for performance local mech do Porting (cutting, polishing and modify) for 2 stroke which can't done for 4 stroke
About Padmini what i think is , there is some problem (hidden) in using mikuni
examples are fuel choking, idle speed varying etc...they replaced some of GS150 carburator(mathew) to check whether the problem reoccur or not
            Only suzuki engg have answers
Actually i kept on insisting the SC guys to change the carb, sing the issue was not getting solved... I took the bike the 2nd time for the service camp at Chennai...

Funniest part was, I didn't realize that my carb was changed and no one said..

Then one day when i was cleaning i found that it was change (it was looking old and had some thick stains on it, it looked very old). But for sure it is the mikuni version...

On my last service, the service head at ABT was surprised that my mileage issue was still the same, he refused to agree and was tell all stuffs like, my carb was changed, lot of test rides, turning, bla bla bla....

They kept on adjusting the carburetor screw n in the End, Screwed up the whole damn thing

            • Even mine has a Padmini Carb don't know what it has to do with unless i land up in trouble i am fine with even ParleG Carb. Any way my gear shifts have become much better the engine noise has reduced a bit also. But every one here is true no local mechanic is Ready to touch Honda,GS etc since they are not aware about these much. i had a Honda Eterno and no local mech will touch it.They say take it to SVC we don't know much.

                • tested new GS150R

@ mathew. Carb tuning is very important for bike performance; someone who doesn't have much knowledge played with you bike carb it seemsI would say their are so many bad customers who just leave the bike and take it back they don't ask how is the bike and what are all the problems and what was done they act as if they are damn busy. Thus the bike will get spoiled I used to post a feed back on suzuki website before and after serviceBefore giving to service ill post all the issues to suzuki website and told them this issues might sound simple from your end but as a customer they are at most primary issues And you know when I visit the service center the supervisor or service head will say sir you are madhu rite we got your complaint details from suzuki we will take care of it. While taking back the bike I always insist on speaking to the. Engineer and service person who serviced my bike this method works fine for me @ adi its padmini or parleG they manufactured it under license from mikuni or else they aren't allowed to manufacture a product which exactly looks and functions like mikuni carb its a cost cutting measure from suzuki; This morning visited dealer place as my friend want to do a test drive of GS150R and dazzler So tried and tested GS150R 2010 model it was good and much better than 2009 modelParked it next to my bike checked the carb both looks same the only difference is the name on it. Even asked the service guy is this carb makes the engine sound less and much smoother and gives better performs. He replied 2010 model is the new BS complaint thus they fine tuned the engine and tweaked up core components, carb settings on new GS150R remains same as the old one.

                    • hmm i am trying to contact Suzuki through website but getting some error they should mention the list of Workshops atleast in the website.I heard there was a New Workshop coming up in my place just 10min away wanted to know when it was opening and get the address but the contact page is not working.

It will be very good for me if the supposed service center opens soon.

                        • Guys today went to service centre and asked about using semi synthetic oil other than Castrol. Well service engineer was not pleased, he took me to garage and showed the oil they are filling. Saw many bottles in cartons, everyone is being filled with Bottled JASO, SAE specified Castrol oil and said this mineral oil is enough for ordinary users. If you know what you are doing then you can fill with the brand you want . But they wont change the oil , unless its their oil . It felt as if " Dont utter a word if anything goes wrong". He he anyway Im going to change to semi-synthetic by next week.

                          @ Kiran
If you dont run in reserve, then how will you calculate the real time mileage? I always wait till bike goes to reserve, just as it goes to reserve, reset trip meter then go to usual bunk fill some 4 litre fuel and note the trip meter reading when it goes to next reserve. Easy and efficient way to know the mileage. Keep an eye on mileage, sudden fluctuations in mileage say less than 5 km than average, means some adjustment is needed.

actually i am hearing some screw loosing sound(hears like the screws inside the engine got off..cannot describe more then this...)during the initial few kms.

Is the tappet sound related to this...
Yesterday my friend noticed some sounds in the bike which seems very similar to this query.

I will ask Mr. Satish at airport rd, SC, bangalore about this in my 4 service.

My bike needs a oil change at 4k thinking of gulf 4t pride. will check with SC before buying. Will post there response.

Any body hav experience with tappet sound being resolved at SC ?? Bike has been giving cosistent mileage of 52-56 in bangalore city riding.

btw do you guys feel that if we park the bike in side stand it runs more i mean tilting causes fuel to flow to engine?? will side stand parking affect my mileage calculation

i mean to say the total fuel i used including reserve is 13ltr....
and i rode upto 796km... i think then i can calculate the avg....
