Ya, still my bike is running on Main fuel... according to the data I have given it seems that I got atleast 56+ mileage.
Lets see if it runs more than 300 Kms without using reserved fuel...
But, I still think that Suzuki guys might gave me 1.5 to 2 Ltr fuel.
Is the amount of fuel is fixed which they used to give with new purchase of bike?
So, according to me....
1. Ride quality is very nice.
2. Looks very good and suits me.
3. initial pick up is not as good as other 150cc bikes like pulsar.
4. For me, its a heavy bike... 3-4 times I was about to loose my control while I was on ground and holding the bike.Last edited by dhruv5588; 09-26-2011, 07:54 PM.High Hopes......

yes in GS it's viscous paper type air filter similar to unicorn, but Suzuki recommends cleaning whereas Honda recommends replacing after 15k km.Originally posted by Drifty View PostHiee GS owners,I want to know about the air filter used in your bikes. Is it a paper filter? How to service it?And also let me know the cost of the same.
I think there is some difference in material of both filters.
please see link:
Suzuki Spare Parts Replacement
UNICORN BE A WING RIDER
That's not accurate method to measure FE. but since you are riding in running in peroid you can expect around 50kmpl mileage.Originally posted by dhruv5588 View PostYa, still my bike is running on Main fuel... according to the data I have given it seems that I got atleast 56+ mileage.

@ all: completed 10k on my GS. some problems i faced and as i spent time withe my GS i discovered solutions. do check with your bikes if you are facing the same...
prob: Jerks during riding..even after cleaning air vent.
Soln: start the bike. touch finger lightly on spark plug adapter. if you feel light current then adapter has a leakage. replace it with slingshot/ pulsar 's adapter. both are reliable.
CAUTION: do not touch spark plug adapter if you hear clear sound of sparks, or else you may get severe electric shock.
Prob: Harsh engine, low mileage, even after optimum air screw (golden screw) settings.
soln.: pull choke cable, start engine. now push choke to closed position. there should be at least 2000~2500rpm different between two positions of choke.
Company recommended range for air screw is 1.75 to 2.25 turns anticlockwise from locked in position.
CAUTION: do not try this if you are unfamiliar with carburetor.Last edited by mazaid53; 09-26-2011, 08:05 PM.anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place

So how much increase in FE are we talking about after this solution?
My FE falls on the lesser side of 50 kmpl range (usually around 45-48)..
My FE prediction this time:
Tanked up twice (for around 24lts in total) and the total distance covered is around 850kms as of today. The fuel indicator just turned to two bars..
So roughly if i hit the reserve in around 1000 kms, my FE will be ~42

If it runs till 1200 then FE will be exactly 50 but since its showing only 2 bars i highly doubt that would be the case
So something is not right in my bike.
Riding habit includes early up shifting(max 3.5 rpm) and the max speed i reached is around 80(only thrice - accelerating only in 6th gear) otherwise below 70 for sure..Don't know what could be the issue(if any)

The stator in your bike has 12 poles and can be wound as 3 phase, but I think it is difficult to find out a suitable RR for it.
In my opinion, rewinding the stator with 18 swg wire and fitting an Ape RR will be sufficient to use a 100/110 watt headlight bulb.

3.5 Ltr. in reserve tank. So, 4.6 Ltr. was in my Tank.
I completed 260 km with that and yet to turn fuel valve to reserve... 4.6 ltr is still going on. means avg. is 56+.... How is this possible???? suzuki dealer might gave me more than 1 Ltr.??
A little more careful riding will give around 65 kml, if the riding is not in city. That FE of 56 kml is good and is because of:
1. The carburetor setting is not altered.
2. You are riding more cautiously as the bike is in running in period.
The dealer never gives more fuel than what he said.

I am planning for a Three Phase Ac Output from the stock coil, please i need you suggestions
Dude thats an ABS.....so braking has to be the best in the world on that machine.....and bike choices depends on person to person and their needs....sometimes i feel like i should have gone for a 100cc when mileage is on mind....sometimes its 250cc when i feel like i need some power and sometimes 1000cc when i feel like scaring the shit out of the car drivers....so choices varry from time to time and person to personOriginally posted by Nishchal_Hellfreezerider View PostDude congrats for your bike!!! But I am a bit surprised as well as not satisfied with tour reviews regarding RTR.
I own an Apache RTR ABS and trust me it rules the roads... Best pick up and handling, Sheer Braking Pleasure and comfortable too.... Only Prob is the price.... Got it for 92k
On the last GS meet i rode all the three GS and trust me all of them had different riding characters!!!Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostI don’t know how you came to this conclusion. I too have ridden the new batch bike but, in my experience, it is not different from my 2009 model. It is true that the minor design flows like the roaring engine sound etc. are now rectified.
oye sahil why do you need GS ka filter.....Apache se khush reh na....and thanks for staying and helping me out that day!!!!!Originally posted by Drifty View PostHiee GS owners,I want to know about the air filter used in your bikes. Is it a paper filter? How to service it?And also let me know the cost of the same.

calculated the milage of my bike after the Kaas G2G, on the trip the bike showed 629.7Kms and the total fuel gone in was (till the lower end of the snout of the tank mouth) 14.03Ltrs that turns out to be 44.88Kmpl.... which is just awesome
... i was crusing on my bike all the time between 85-95Kmph, n on few strecthes even reach 107Kmph, no conservative riding et all except the last 50Ks(cause of traffic n city limits) Usually everyday i ride the bike on ECO mode since i m in city limits all the time, i get a mileage between 47-50Kmpl
last 60Kms to go before i hit 10,000Kms mark on my bike since mid of feb11.... The journey with my GS has been a pleasant one

The truth is this: Suzuki has not made any change in GS except in the color, graphics, RR, stator coil, interior of the fuel tank and some engine parts. The bike as a whole remains the same.

though I have not calculated FE after changing the choke and plug adapter...so far from my observation i see an increase of roughly 10-15kmpl in FE. before these changes it was around 38~40 kmpl. now it surely has gone up.Originally posted by ashoka_bnglr View PostThats nice observation Mazaid,

my riding is usually in upwards of 6k rpm~ 80kmph.
there's nothing seriously wrong with your bike...are you running it in lower gears for long time or in heavy traffic areas?? that could be a reason for such FE...but then too its really good for a 150cc to return this kinda mileage.
@maestro: bro plan a ride for GS ppl soon. waiting for it as i want to convert my bike to full DC setup.Last edited by mazaid53; 09-26-2011, 11:53 PM.anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place
