Sorry to note of your accident....Wear a riding gloves, elbow and knee Armour along with a good shoes....this is minimal requirement..If you can't wear shoes ,at least wear a leather slipper which will cover the foot and give protection. The gloves and Armour will cost only 1,500/- but can greatly reduce damage to your tissues.
    Take rest ....Get well soon..

    • I know I should wear shoes but the humid rainy climate is a real deterrent. I was in fact wearing leather chappals but those definitely were no help... shoes would definitely have done helped but I guess there is no use in hindsight

      On a more positive note I was on my way back from this amazing place(Anakampoyil), about 8kms from my house;

small bike as well as big bike has its own + and -

small bike doesnt mean you can control just like that it attains speed quicker and due to weightlessness it wont come to halt as faster than the big bike
other thing is if a speedy big cargo or bus passes by the light weight small bike you know how the vehicle shakes.....

same way my friend got a free tatoo on his right leg as his bullet fallen on his leg while driving until some one comes and released him the hot silencer roasted his leg.

by the way even am under medication,

No your guess is wrong its not due to an accident on my GS or car, but it was an accident as my beloved elder brother bitten me on left hand ankle while i try to control him as he was drunken and fighting with another guy

in simple term human (man) bite,
tetanus injection on day one and 2 injections per day till a week time, 3 tablets during morning and night.

        • The news of a refreshed GS150R is true. Please note the word "refreshed". I called a suzuki showroom in delhi two days back to inquire about GS and the guy said that the production of the current GS has stopped since it will be re-launched with a sportier style, probably hinting at slightly sportier riding position similar to karizma with little change in style. As per him, the engine will probably remain same so no major difference in pricing should be expected.

However, I went to a prominent suzuki showroom in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi to confirm this news. Not surprisingly, there were no GSs present in the showroom and the guys there confirmed that a new GS with a sportier style and riding position is launching by July end which they said is confirmed, but they did not know anything more than that or may be they did not want to disclose it.

But it's a good news for me who always wanted a slightly sportier stance on GS like karizma. I am looking forward to it now

If speaking to people from suzuki is to be believed then i spoke to the suzuki people on phone from the website(i had asked for a query for bike and got a call back). he claimed he has heard nothing of that sort. so who do we believe.

Sri. PSR may be correct, but I too have no information about it.

            @benjamin..

bro take a test drive again.

no bike is perfect. no bike is full of problems. if you already know the GS faces the issues that you have mentioned then dont buy it, because after you buy it you will continue to complain.

we all have GS's with us. We all have faced problems(issues). some fixed, some could not be. doesn't make GS any less of a bike. we continue to love our machines. so try this. go to all the other potential bikes you wanted to buy threads and ask these same questions and see what they say. ask them if they think their bike is perfect with no issues and not problems at all. if they tell you that their bike is perfect, then buy it.

            or as 2strokrama offered

                • The sound when downshifting to 1st gear got solved. It only happens when speed is above 15-20kmph....It doesn't happen when below 10kmph. Thanks kirtimannan and vishnu

Congratulations and warm welcome to our GS family. Yours is a good decision.
Before buying, ensure that there are no scratches on it. There is nothing more to check in a new bike as they may not allow you to ride it. Even the engine oil is filled and battery is fitted after you select the bike.
Try to get something like seat cover or anything like that free. Probability is less as most of the Suzuki dealers are misers.
After you get it, maintain it in a good condition.

Reduce the rpm when the bike is constant. Most problems are like this; simple problems exaggerated.

I would vouch for a rear disc, full DC electricals and a 180cc engine......it will make the GS150R feel even better and the most desirable upgrade a bike can get.

Till recently, there has been news that no new GS150R is to be expected, even an employee has been reported here to say so.

But then we get our hopes filled with completely new GS180R,Slingshot 150 or lighter GS150R and GW250.

Well, the 250cc to be upcoming in Diwali is definitely GW.

But for now we can sit back and get ready either to be excited or disappointed.........The GS180R and the GS150R would make sense to the line-up, the 150cc retains its old style with updated graphics if not replaced.
While, the 180cc gets lighter, a rear disc ,power to pull in the sixth gear, premium top speed ,sporty looks, full DC electricals and complementing handling at the price tag of the CB Dazzler or Yamaha Fazer.

In that case, our GS150R may go extinct like the Zeus and get replaced by the Slingshot 150 with lighter weight but equal engine specs.

Would work very well for Suzuki, better to have a 100cc for commuters,125 for the sake of being in a segment,150cc for people on a budget and in their midlife crisis and a 180cc for the youths who needs performance along with refinement and reasonable pricing .........just what Suzuki stands for.

But in case, since it is already in the testing phase.........well what I type in here doesn't really matter.I only hope my ideas coincides

Welcome Benjamin to the GS family

These are the below things that you should check before taking delivery(at least I did these things)
                              - First of all if possible ask them to provide you with 2-3 bikes from which you can choose.
                              - Check the Tank properly for any rust/ dents (When I was choosing one of the bike had couple of dents)
                              - Check for any scratches
                              - Try to get as much freebees as possible( u may hav to bargain a bit here)
                              - After you choose the bike take a test drive( I was offered one) and then finalize

Do post your ownership exp once you get your bike

                                Also check the speedo

+ check how many kms done, if its above 50 question them

+ place the bike on center stand, start the bike and change gears to see if back wheel rotates so as to check if speedo works are not if speedometer is not working ask them to make it work.
