    • Well my Start of the week was not that good...
Had a little accident while coming to Office
The car ahead of me did a hard breaking at a busy signal and I too did the same thing and surprisingly GS came to halt without much effort(now I see the breaks in GS are pretty good).. But this idiot Fazer guys who was tailing me didn't stop properly and banged from rear...Well He apologized but I realized there are noticeable scratches just below the GS sticker Was shocked since my baby was just 2 weeks old... then I scolded him for not following the traffic rules and then I headed to SVC to consult whether this can be removed..
Surprisingly the scratch came off effortlessly and then we realized that there was no scratch but actually paint from that Fazer
Now my GS sticker is all good but there is some scratch on the silencer and a small one on the real tail lamp
So just wanted to know whether the silencer can be painted to cover up the scratch?
Although the scratch on the tail is not noticeable just wanted to know how much that costs..
Anyway happy that my bike is good but sad that now its not scratchless..

here is the pic that shows the scratch(well it not there anymore )Sorry for the poor quality, took from my mobile

It is India we stay in and it is not a motorist's paradise.

My GS150R got its first scratches in the parking lot when some irresponsible fellow underestimated its weight and dropped it on another bike while making through.
The second scratch I got when the over-smart SVC guys kept the idling low on hot engine and it was null on the cold engine and I lost momentum on a certain corner as the engine stopped mid corner.
Then there are usual scratches of rickshaw on the silencer and when a car hit me from behind.

I was successful for the first three months to keep my bike scratch free, but the urban jungle soon took its toll.

Hence please do not be upset, it happens. No vehicle that is meant to be ridden everyday on Indian roads would ever be scratch free.

Unless you buy some exotic BMW or Ducati and keep it for highway getaways or weekend trips.

That you are safe and GS150R did not head-on into the car ahead is a very good news.People here tells what not about GS150R's braking but in your case it is the Fazer who spoiled your day for insufficient braking.

Go for the ones available widely, like RC1060.

            • our headlight works only when engine is started ? like one switch is off then mid one starts the tail light & front pilot lights (2 lights)(only when engine is started ) & extreme left button starts all lights(only when engine is started ) !

                • @MACH50, Since all the scratches on the sticker are gone I am happy again

                  @All
ODO reads 650 and I will give my bike for first servicing when it reads 750,
one small thing I noticed twice is that whenever my ride for say 1 / 1.5 hr in a very busy bangalore traffic(distance covered would be around 20-25 km the engine will be very hot by then), I am not able to put first gear properly. It simply refuses to get into first gear and stays on neutral (and because of this I had to take some earfulls from the fellow riders ).

After some noticeable effort/pressure applied on the gear(in contrary to the buttersmooth gear box of GS) I was able to put it in 1st gear and go on...This happened twice in the similar driving situations.
This doesn't happen with any other gears .I guess this happens only when the bike is hot and has been running for more than 20 kms..
So is it my imagination or something fishy here??

Most of the problems you mentioned here will get solved after the first service. Before 1st service I've faced similar problems. Heat is common for all GS, i think.

Battery manufacturer is different and i hope for pulsar too same make is used,

hope you can find the battery warranty card in your GS manual itself

if its exide you can approach the exide dealer at your place directly with that battery warranty card.

as battery warranty is provided by manufacturer they will do needful

am not advocating for anyone or suzuki, telling this because i came across similar situation on my HH Splendor, at that time i didn't sold the vehicle instead i approached the battery dealer and they replaced the bat....

                        • Seat

Thanks for ur suggestions Maestro.. I do travel close to 35 kms daily and take the WEH. I usually drive in the Eco mode. But since the past 2-3 days i experimented with the PWR mode and the bike runs like an angry bull.. Its a bit scary at times though. hehehe...

Bike is Good but serious problems with the seat. Where will I be able to get the covers for the seat. any 1 staying in and around Borivali to Andheri can plz suggest some good shops for seat covers. or seat makers for that matter.

What actually did you hit ?????

Because this accident sounds like, you have totaled your bike !!!
That you did not have any injuries or wounds is a good news.
