dude a puncture doesn't mean that tire is showing its age. I had to change front tube cos of a puncture near valve. nothing to do with age of a tire. MRF zapper Y goes in excess of 30k km before replacement is required, provided you keep proper pressure while riding.Originally posted by MACH50 View PostBut I have done only 7.2Ks that's what is worrying me
By the way what caused puncture in the tire??
Some pages back i read that more highway rides will lead to more tire wear. thats not true. if proper pressure is maintained and bike is not overloaded then a MRF rear tire can easily last around 30k.
anything that can go wrong will surely go wrong at the wrong time and the wrong place

mach i have done 17800km on odo and got around 3 to 4 nailsOriginally posted by MACH50 View PostI recovered a broken nail.
till now though my tire still looks like new and can easily done another 10k.....but due to the grip i feel bad i purchased Ceat Vertigo sports (which have good buttons and awesome grip(by someone used to it)
..I bought 1 and kept in hand due to non availability of 18 section tyre in my home town .....
May be becos of tyre pressure ur tyre wearing out faster ..I keep always 2 ps more than prescribed one
...Anyway if u plan to change tyre go for Michilean or Ceat...And 2nd one will last long than 1 st one as i1st one is softer compound .....
Someone asked aboout petrol lock or fuel lock ..I hope its very complicated to fit such to our GS

Guys..
I've bought Honda Tuff-Up tubes from the Honda showroom.
will be using it in MICHELIN SIRAC STREET 100/90*18 Tyre.. in my karizma R..
I wanted Unicorn's tuff-up tube as Unicorn's rear tyre is 100/90*18..
the Honda guys, gave me a 3.00*18 sized tube.. n.. said.. "It is fitted in the unicorn"..
now.. will there be any problem if I put 3.00 tube in a 100/90 Tyre..???
Is.. 3.00 equivalent to 100/90??
I'll be using my Bike for Rally'ing in this coming June... So, need some expert advice..!
Plz help..>> RiDe SaFe > RiDe LoNg >>

Well one of my friends took it out for a ride.He told me that he had ridden some rough roads.Originally posted by Maestro View Postthe weight caused it right!!!!(now whose weight i dont know

Now this makes sense, that since he is a rookie-he sat on the bike's seat the whole time he negotiated that uneven terrain of broken roads instead of shifting his weight on foot pegs like I do.The next morning I found my bike with flat tyre.Last edited by MACH50; 05-22-2011, 01:54 PM.Hell's Angel

Bitter experience indeed.Originally posted by akfara View Postmach i have done 17800km on odo and got around 3 to 4 nails
Nothing gets me worried like flat tyres do. I was worried to death by this fact with my previous Suzuki Zeus, it got 8 punctures in its 11 months tenure at my garage and it had to occur always in middle of nowhere. The foremost culprit was the tyre pattern...........I changed two tubes, but still it occurred. The trouble did leave me after I exchanged that vehicle off for the GS150R.
Now the GS150R puncture has got me worried again, though it is only the single puncture in the whole 7200 kms.Hell's Angel

hmm u r right but sometimes the local mechanic too cheats after 2 or 3 servicing neatly.. i have experience when i bought my first bike suzuki shaolin...the probs is to find a good second hand bike is very difficult...mileage 45-50 is ok for me.. bcos i dont use bike for long trip...have heard that FZ -16 can be used roughly and also maintenance is low..dont know if it is true...Originally posted by MSN1 View PostIf you are selling bike because of svc issue, then ill bet its there with other bike dealers too

From yamaha you can expect good performance, quality spares at reasonable cost (not low price) all this but not mileage.
Again if you can't find a trustworthy local mechanic, then how you are going to maintain the new even the second hand bike ?
"We have maintains free battery but not bike"
If that's the only reason for selling your GS means please, go and search for a good mechanic because,
If you can't find one, its not a bad idea to learn how to maintain / repair or troubleshoot your bike !!!

FZ16 in comparison to the GS150R :Originally posted by MSN1 View PostFrom yamaha you can expect good performance,
Low mileage, low high end performance, low quality levels, lower ride feel, more vibrations, bit more handling prowess, radical looking if not sophisticated, lacks the sixth gear, costs more.
GS150R is the best 150cc bike in the segment, going for anything else would be more or less compromise.
What R15 is to the premium segment, GS150R is to the 150cc segment.Hell's Angel

I am curious to know what price can GSR be sold for? Mine is just 10 months old but i am planning to sell it when 2 years old (2012 July) ...will be going for higher CC bikes.
Obviously i know things will be different next year july but for now what price the bike can be sold easily?Last edited by gs150r; 05-23-2011, 12:01 AM.You cannot change your future, but, you can change your habits, and surely your habits will change your future - Dr Abdul Kalam
