^^ Hey brother....first of all you will have to do lot of manipulations for getting the fairing in one place along the tank....secondly the petrol knob wont be handy....thirdly you will lose the suzuki logo on tank.....fourthly ours is an air cooled engine so there might be some serious heating issues.....
-
I would happily help you with it............and this full DC conversion system would be applicable for all GS150R owners.Originally posted by nagthemissile View Post@mach50
I am planing to convert gs to dc and also install a hid...Please elaborate the procedure for both in layman's terms....so that once i visit a electrician for the conversion and installation could not be misled and get duped or atleast can get a better fitment from him....
I would post the details soon
The only problem on my GS150R from the very day of its purchase had been its chain, chain cover and sprocket system.Originally posted by sarvodaya View PostThis is for the time in its 44,000 KMs that the Chain sprocket came off. Any body experienced the same. Apart from this small incidence, the bike has been trouble free. Planning to replace the rear tyre next month. Which tyre is good? MRF or any other brand?
1.A week after purchase, the chain cover went into the travel of chain and got bent making so much noise that I was ashamed to ride it to SVC.I occured again three months ago. This time it was undone at a local garage.
Finally at the main SVC I showed the problem and they fitted the chain cover with precision..........hopefully, it would be okay now.
2.At the main SVC while servicing my bike, they found out my front sprocket bent and the it would have come off if not the speedo sensor had covered it.Also the sensor was dangling over it just keeping itself between the cover and the sprocket. So I have a bent sprocket on a Suzuki bike which is only 1 year old.Anyway, the SVC changed and adjusted all............the bike and the speedometer is doing fine now.
So, thats what I faced all about chain and sprocket set-up.
Meanwhile the good life continues.
Tyre got punctured again !!! Repaired it.
The Supercharger has made the GS150R way too powerful. It now does easy numbers on the likes of R15,P220 and ZMA.
The acceleration boost is massive.........0-60 and 0-100 times would shock anybody including myself.Though the top-speed has not changed significantly, the last time I clarified, it was showing a steady 119Kmph on a short road while the ZMR at my back reported 124-125kmph while following me and trying to keep up.
This Supercharger set-up on my bike really works like the ones found on BMWs and Mercedes.
Thing is,my bike is now too powerful for its brakes..........the stock brakes are now being a big let-down for the new set-up.Hell's Angel

Hey Mach,
I am sorry but maybe i have missed it....
Can you please tell me on which page have you explained the same...
What have you done to improve the performance....
and implementing the same in my bike may void the warranty or not..
Please let me knowsigpic

@ mach,
Its wise that you are looking at for the break
Heard that their are after market ABS breaks available,
Recently read on xbhp about bosch abs breaks for bikes and seems that to available (haven't checked but heard from someone)
Go for a bigger sizi disk (in size) more closer towards outer edge of the rim is good.
For back wheel no way with the default alloys, you need to change the alloy wheel to accomodate the disk break set up.

My GS is in good condtn, but some times it stops like petrol shortage, after applying chock and sometimes I stopped the bike and open the tank then it works well,
Seems its time to clean tank and carb as wellSarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

One doubt, Madhu. Can a “bigger size disk (in size) more closer towards outer edge of the rim” be fitted on our GS?
If a bigger size disc can be fitted, I too am planning to do it. Hence this doubt.

Yes you can....there are so many aftermarket discs available....but make sure they have the same bolting as we have on current setup(and thats difficult)....Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostIf a bigger size disc can be fitted, I too am planning to do it. Hence this doubt.

My GS150R now uses forced aspiration to keep its engine breathing.Originally posted by BiKeLovER View PostHey Mach,

Please let me know
There is a bolt on Supercharger fitted onto my bike.
The Supercharger forces air into the engine and this excessive air provides more Oxygen for the fuel to burn.
More air and fuel volume within the same cycle of combustion means more volume gaseous expansion which when converted to mechanical energy by the engine transmits more output to the wheels.
All these occurs in the same rpm range as the stock bike.
More Torque at peak torque rpm and more power at peak power rpm...........which is carried on till the bike comfortably redlines or hits rev limiter.
Any kind of aftermarket performance modifications voids warranty of any vehicle.
I am against changing the stock brakes of my GS150R, it would adversely affect the bike.Originally posted by MSN1 View Post@ mach,

Heard that their are after market ABS breaks available,
ABS do not increase braking force, it just distributes the braking force into a series of small braking with intervals the human reflex cannot effectively replicate. So it stops the vehicle without imminent skid when the disc is slammed very hard on panic braking, but the braking distance more or less remains the same.
Good effective braking depends a lot on the kind of disc set-up used at the front and the rear and on the tyres.
I do not want to change the front disc it is very effective but gets no support from the rear set-up,hence may put an ABS on.
The tyres would not be changed.
So right now I have to do something with the rear brake...........and it will remain the same as it is,only this time that my genius engineer friend is altering the brake lever design with some calculations based on the principle of simple machines to increase the braking force from the stock drums.
I did not understand most of it, but what he told me is, that for rear drum brake we apply our human force on the brake pedal and that gets transmitted to the drums as mechanical force via the brake lever. So he would try out a lever which can amplify this conversion of energy into mechanical energy more effectively..........that's all I know.
It sounds complex by principles but is a simple application which would be based on the principle of simple machines.Hell's Angel

That alone is not the problem. A bigger size disc means larger radius. Then how can you fit the caliper?

Has anyone got rid of the knock knock sound when moving from 1st gear to 2nd.
This sound is very irritating to ears. Have told the SVC guys the problem many times but no use. They adjust it and then after some days the noise comes back.
My bike has completed 8k till now. Will now try to use Motul 4t Plus 20w40 and see the difference.
Also tell me a cheaper way to increase the output of my headlamp. Any good bulb suggestion. Also what is the use of iridium spark plug instead of the normal ones.

Bigger the size is better just google it to get more info, even you can find similar set up on many of the high end bikes (bmw, HD, etc..) Have similar break set up.Originally posted by vishnukmd View PostIf a bigger size disc can be fitted, I too am planning to do it. Hence this doubt.
it doesn't need any change in the rim or front alloy.
They put some typical clamp to connect it with the alloy wheel
Have seen disk break set up done on pulsar gen 1 model and seen a CBz old model bike with dual disk on back
using after market products.
There you can get cheeper one and even brembo like top class makes too.Sarcasm is my automatic response to stupidity

Me too facing the same problem. It feels like the bike lags any pickup.

Probably there's an airlock in the tank....clean the water exit at tank's mouth...Originally posted by BiKeLovER View PostHey Guys,
