And in the post you can see a statement like "Could the Suzuki Slingshot 125 be unveiled on the 25th?"
So its a pretty old one (last year's story)

      • People be aware of Suzuki's new launches............it is a very closely guarded secret.Even if they plan a new motorcycle for production, very less news and scoop makes it to the web before the product actually hits the market.

The launch of our own GS150R proves that.
The first pictures of the speculated Lanza aka GS150R made it to the web only weeks before the actual launch, not months !!!

Hence waiting for or buying Suzuki products is what can be considered as gambling, if you love the game then take chances.

to be honest am not satisfied with "orange" color....
may be cause i seen only old - orange colour... (2009 model)

i have no idea abt the new orange mix color...

and will dere will b any new changes after some months...?
did u guys heard any news like dat....?
The orange colour wont fade quickly, i've seen few orange GS 2009 model and the colour seems almost like how it was when it was sold. You could take extra care to prevent fading, like teflon coating, parking in shade etc. Even my bike(blue) hasnt faded, been almost 2 years now.

Go have a look at the new colour combo, its definitely more red than orange, you could say red with glitters.

No idea about any new launches though.

Buddy, if you can find any svc where there isn't too much rush, then you can catch one mechanic and ask him to tune your bike and tip him, thats the best way to go about with a svc.

I used to give it to airport road suzuki, their service was very good last year, but now there's too much crowd, and they just washed my bike and gave it back last time even though i specifically said tune the carb.

As of now am happy with servicing from a known local mechanic.

the logic is our skin is very different from the material of road etc., also when we ride a bike there is certain amount of load on tire which also contributes to traction. could you kindly explain if there's any specific method which you have used to test the grip of a tire without fitting it on bike? i mean, using some kind of material or something...
Ur point is correct ...I wrote here from getting feed backs of a Ceat Vertigo sports who using it in his GS150 and he is in this forum ,He is not active for long time so forgot his id name ...From his feed back he is using around for 2000km and It gives excellent Grip ...I trust him and also The brand ceat also popular 2nd to MRF before other tire companies arrived ...The buttons of this tire looking like KTM bike tires no doubt it will offer you great grip just my personal view ..

              My requirements are as follows:
              1) Comfort: I will be riding the bike mostly alone, but the pillion rider should also be in a very comfortable position. Especially hopping on and off should be easy.

              2) Fuel Efficiency: Anything around 50 would do.

              3) Riding conditions: Purely city driving. Rarely on highway runs

              4) Ownership cost: The cost of spares, services and overall A.S.S. should be good enough.

If you have Suzuki service center near to your place, go for Suzuki.
All the requirements you mentioned is with Gs150r.

The pictures of my 1 year old bike, purchased on 27/1/10 are in page 958 and 959 of this thread. If you need, I shall upload the latest ones.

All colors fade in almost the same rate if exposed to uv rays in sunlight. The practical way to prevent it is as thefalcon said, waxing it with a good car wax and keeping it in shade.

Here, in my nearest town, GSs of all colors are available within in a fortnight.

It is true that some dare devils like Mach50 are awaiting a 180-250 cc bike from Suzuki but there is no official information from them about any new bike or about any modifications to the existing bikes up to this time.

Even God-men cannot predict anything. The last example is the 5 star, 20 crore, one man a/c show in Delhi. But waiting for a new bike may be fruitless.

thefalcon, all or almost all the SCs are doing the same. What else except washing, replacing oil and filter and lubricating necessary points is to be done at the time of servicing? If anything else is needed, meet the servicing centre manager/engineer.

In busy workshops, the mechanics are strictly instructed to do nothing except whatever is written in the job card and most of those making entries in the job cards are not technicians to understand what you explain to them.

I met one of the A.S.S marketing personnel in my city to-day and he said a NEW 150cc GSR with more pickup and less engine noise and vibrations will be launched in September this year ,and redesigning had been done in Japan...the bike is already undergoing testing ..... A 220 to 250cc is also on the card and expected during the Diwali time...

                      • lost control of the bike at a turn over gravel and sand that had come onto the road after the rains; I had noticed the gravel and was even extra careful(28kmph) in making the turn and still lost control... I get the feeling that I could have controlled a less tall/heavy bike somehow but with the gs once i slip I can't even try to balance by using my foot... I am 5'8" and can't really fix my feet on the ground properly while on the gs.

got a couple of fairly deep cuts on my leg thanks to the gravel and me wearing only chappals. its hurting like hell...
i wonder if it would make sense for me to to switch to a smaller bike and get rid of the gs.

so is this going to be the NEW all new GS 150r..

If speaking to people from suzuki is to be believed then i spoke to the suzuki people on phone from the website(i had asked for a query for bike and got a call back). he claimed he has heard nothing of that sort. so who do we believe.

                          @benjamin..

bro take a test drive again.

no bike is perfect. no bike is full of problems. if you already know the GS faces the issues that you have mentioned then dont buy it, because after you buy it you will continue to complain.

we all have GS's with us. We all have faced problems(issues). some fixed, some could not be. doesn't make GS any less of a bike. we continue to love our machines. so try this. go to all the other potential bikes you wanted to buy threads and ask these same questions and see what they say. ask them if they think their bike is perfect with no issues and not problems at all. if they tell you that their bike is perfect, then buy it.

hey bro..hope you are ok..its true that the bike is a little weak on loose sand and gravel..did you lean too far into the turn??

please dont wear chappals, shorts etc while riding. its never safe in case the worst happens.

happy to hear you came out in one piece.

Ya i know, thats why i said airport road suzuki was good 1 year back when there were few vehicles in the queue. Looks like suzuki sales has improved a lot so getting crowded these days, mainly because of access though, not their bikes.

Thats very sad. Hope you get well soon.
And taking a turn at 28kmph is definitely not being extra careful, i usually reduce the speed to 15kmph at 90 degree turns.

I dont think a lighter bike will help much, because these skids happen in a fraction of a second and controlling the bike is difficult, its safe to take your feet off the foot rest when you sense any skid, that way you can put your foot on the ground faster in case anything happens and let go of the bike instead of having your leg stuck under the bike.

i give my bike for service at airport road suzuki and i agree with you. they are pretty crowded and mostly with Access only. for every 10 access they service i thinks they get 1 bike. now that slingshot sales have also improved i dont know what will happen to GS once the crowd increases.

i saw a splendor go down today at a 90* turn this morning. no damage to guy. major damage to bike. speed would have been around 50. so no bike is safe when weather decides to play..
