@All - almost second service time for my bike. 2.5km run.
    Dude,

Rear brake is quite a bite now..Gaining so much confidant with the front-rear duo
Vibes near the handle at around 4-5k RPM are quite reduced(This happened after the first service and again I went there and got the fixed)

No problem in engaging 1st gear at any moment.
High beam is some what focused now but if required I will re adjust frmo now onwards

One sad thing is that scratch on the right side of the tank and I hav to fix that one hopefully this weekend.
Apart from that Bike is doing great. Yesterday it was one month anniversary and ODO reads 1300.

Average I kinda surprised. Using R-R method to calculate(I know its not the best way) and very first time before first service I got something around 50 kmpl. But after that the next tryout gave me around 43 . Have to check now.
    My commute consists of 40 km/day . 50% city and 50% highway.
In city i hardly reach 60kmph and on highways occasionally I reach 75 but not more than that. So I should be getting ~50 this time.Lets see

what was done to reduce the vibes??

glad to hear that brake issue fixed..

scratch can be fixed. dont worry about it too much.

mileage is all based on how we drive.

After the first service I was getting some vibes near the handle bar and when i took the bike to SVC they said the visor was not aligned properly and they just readjusted. Now the vibes are very much reduced(I could still get a hint of a vibe but that can be ignored)
I am a sane driver(never revv hard and change to higher gear as early as possible without stressing the engine) So hopefully I will get better figure this time.Since its only a month old I am not much worried and will check few more times before coming to a conclusion.

        @Vishnu,

I cannot believe that your bike is 16 months old Looks like a brand new one without any noticeable scratch
How much average you are getting currently?

The failure of GS150 to have bigger market share may be due to a combination of many blunders.
          1. Positioning of the product was not done..there were no "Catch" phrases used(definitely male etc., )
          2. Many parts of the Bike were outsourced, without quality audit on them..ie., Petrol tank, frame....Only the engines were assembled in Suzuki India factory.
          3. The Bike was rushed into the market to catch the 150cc fever without fully subjecting the bike to weather, corrosion tests.
          4. Brand Ambassadors were not identified early into Marketing.
          5. High profile sales pitch was totally lacking...
          6. Very late reaction to customer reported problems, and not treating the customer right....There is a saying in Marketing.." A satisfied customer may or may not talk about the product..but a Dissatisfied customer WILL definitely talk about the product".
          7. Ultimately which segment is the bike supposed to attract ?or targeted at ?..I am sure even Suzuki does not have a clue till date..
Just my thought..not to injure the sentiments of anyone, but feeling sad to see a good bike not taking off like it SHOULD have.

Arey that people from every metropolitan do not have a clear access to Suzuki bikes is the biggest blunder. The GS150R is not known in many townships and districts of India. But everyone knows that there is a Pulsar from Bajaj and Unicorn from Honda atleast !!!

Consider my city, everyone stares at my bike as if it is an imported machine !!!!

Although when Suzuki had dealership in my city, when they marketed the Zeus and Heat, there was nothing in the showroom that people would love, except taking a peek at the Hayabusa. The Zeus and Heat had nothing to impress on the paper and in looks and nor the low end price tag attracted customers to a shop where 1300cc bikes were on display. Then the dealership changed to Bajaj for far better revenue generation and Suzuki went absent from Kolkata.

Suzuki portrays an image of performance and markets two-wheelers nowhere near to supplement that image except the GS150R, which the majority of the people do not know.

Even though there were GS150R advertorials on TV(which were much lower in number than even the Mahindra Stallio ad) and it had the punch line of Drive me Crazy, people did not find a dealer to inquire......ridiculous

Now, a benevolent sub-dealer in one corner of my city, does the service and sells vehicles on authorization of a Suzuki main dealer in the district. If you have a 150cc which fails to take up in urban areas, it will never take up as expected in the districts.

Precisely what I had meant...when i inquired with a Suzuki A.S.S.about GS150 I was told bluntly that it will take two months...which is ok..but he added." Sir Production Stopped "., and they are coming out with a better GS."...Do you think any one will ever go near Suzuki after hearing this ? Compare it with HH Karizma..
" Sir Karizma has a waiting period of three months..and it is first come first served basis that we allot the bike. "
The reason for the delay in actual is Karizma is produced less in a month .Most of the days in a month it is the 100cc bikes that is produced..But look at the way , it is put across to the customer...

However Suzuki was the first company who exploded the Indian market with CBU products, but they have went cold ever since the launch of Bandit.I think they expected to sell it in numbers. But it did not, how can they expect ???

This is India, land of men with average height and large saving plans and trying to have the best at a price.Incase of CBUs, people would buy something like the Hayabusa and Bking more than the Bandit when they have money and would be comfortable to buy Gladius or GSR750 when they are on a budget. So, the market should not be judged only by the sales of one product.

Right now, I think, Suzuki and Honda are watching each other even in the CBU market. So, we cannot expect Gladius or GSR750 or GSR600 because Honda has not brought CBF600 or CBR600F or Hornet 600F.

But we can expect the Bking now, since the CB1000R is here already !!!

Right now the only product that is in confirmed launch territory is the GW250 like the CBR250R of Honda.
i dont agree with you for the last point....about suzuki looking at honda and then planning strategy....
the gladius,gsxr600,gsxr750 and gsx750 are surely coming to India....but only after clearing some issues with the Government....this is the reason why the launch date of gladius had to be rescheduled.....

                  • And, today I ordered my first bike

A stunning, heavy, breath-taking, royal, muscular, head turner. Suzuki's GS150R with the shade - Metallic Flint Grey.

They said three months. That is pretty long...!

Hmm.........maybe this person was wrong when it came to company ethics.

I hope you tried to mean that, he should not have informed about a new improved version, as in that case it would hamper the sales of the existing stock.....is it ???

But what if they do not have the existing model in stock ???? and if they would like to keep the customer for the near future ???

                          Somethings fishy here,

Last year around this time,I inquired about the GS150R before I purchased mine. The 2010 lot bikes were readily available in the showroom then with updated graphics scheme and new body colors and reworked heat shield on the silencer. This is what a updated refreshed model is.

Three months waiting period for a product is what I find to be the first time for Suzuki's second innings in India. And the 2011 GS150R needs that ??? !!!

There must be something, more than just updated graphics.........what is it ????
New tank???- in that case the total body dynamic would be revised.
Lighter weight???- in that case again it is more than refresh.
Better pick-up ???- the old engine with lighter weight, negligible, unless the engine gets re-worked.
Three months for a bike without booking hype and reasonably less demand ???- do things fall in place that easy ???

Suzuki would not surely turn away customers while their condition in market is questionable, they might be locking prospective buyers.

However, do not take my words for doubt,I am just hoping for better.
