    1. 300 grams of 19 swg winding wire but buying 350 grams of 18 swg wire is better = 620x.35 = 217.00. (Previously, when I was new to the dealer, it was 650/kg).
    2. Ape RR = 1165.00
    3. High ampere wire (1 meter) = 15.00
    4. Gaskets for magneto cover = 40.00
    5. Insulating varnish = 40.00 (not necessary if you decide to not varnish the coil).
    6. Araldite = 30.00
    7. 17 mm Ring spanner.
    8. 8 mm T- spanner.
    9. 12 mm T-spanner.
    10. 4 mm Allen Key.
    11. High watt soldering iron, solder and soldering paste.
    12. Screwdrivers.
    13. DMM.

This detailed list is not for experts like you; it is for others who do not know what this modification is. It is a very simple process provided you have all the tools and materials with you.

    • Mileage better than a few 100 CCs

      Hi all,

I am getting a mileage of 64.3 for the past 4 days.

Covered 396 KMs for 4 days office commute(~ 100 KM per day)...

      Things i did:

Was riding the bike at Max 45KMPH... Was enjoying the slow ride..
Took roads with less signals/empty roads..
Never changed the gear of the bike(35KMPH above - 6th gear)
      Never changed from ECO mode...

Did all steps to make sure i am not calculating the False reserve..

Now my GS gave a good mileage than my Unicorn (58KMPL)

During the first service, one of the engg in SVC (SMK Suzuki - Porur, Chennai), told me not to alter anything with the CARB
      2005 - Hercules MTB Thriller | 2018 - Apollo Evade
      2010 - Unicorn- 61K
      2011 - GS - 49K
      2016 - Gusto - 15K
      2017 - Tiago XZ 1.2P - 11K

      • coil rewinding with 19 copper wire

@all gs owners who have rewinded coil.

I came to know that coil rewinding with 19 copper wire causes a drip in engine performance, sound behavior etc is it true? please do share your experience at all speeds.....

          • I was trying to follow the thread but it is tooo long. A friend of mine is looking for a new bike and I've suggested this bike to him. Mainly because he didn't like the CBZ, Unicorn's wait is too long. Hunk is under consideration.
His major experience in biking is trashing mine and some other friend's bikes. So, considering his riding skills when riding geared bikes, I've asked him to go for Suzuki. Also, there is a new showroom that is opening soon very near to his house.
His usage would be 60 Kms per day on normal city roads. I just need the following info.
            1) Mileage under normal city riding conditions.
            2) Top Speed.
            3) Best Cruising Speed.

            Thanks to all.

              Hi Guru,
              My opinion is in Red

I suggest it is one of the best bikes in 150cc group n handling is much better than HUNK.

As for as mileage is concerned we cant point out an exact figure ,but the range can be anywhere from 46 to 50 in city(with signals and riding around our city streets with continuous start stop),out on an empty stretch or highways it has to be far better say for example 52 to 55(even more in some cases).
I haven't really tested my top speed since I am in run in period, from what others have said it should be around 110-120.

Its a very a comfortable bike for cruising, but I am not very sure about the best cruising speed as I haven't taken it beyond 60km/hr.

This is according to my experience, others correct it if I am wrong.

With all my experience I can tell
                  Mileage 50-55....
Top speed 134kmph on odo(though it was on super slope combined with power shifting and smoothest road in country)....but true top speed(gps) is 120 considering the person to be crouched and less in weight.....
                  Cruising speed.....it cruises effortlessly @80kmph.....

                  • Thanks for the replies. A top speed of 100+ is nice and 80kmph cruising is quite good. So, I guess I can ask him to go for it. But the Dazzler seems to have cruising speeds of 100-105 kmph. Is that true?

                      • Regarding cruising speed.

In my experience with GS150R I found even at 90 or 100 or 110 kmph the bike doesn't feels stressed, but for anyone in indian road condition 80 is the perfect cruising speed.

The weight of GS attributes a lot of stability while cruising at high speed and bring it to control

                        • As we know the Engine OIL is very important for engine's age and different oils have different quality.

Is the same applicable with Petrol? I mean do u guys recommend any specific petrol? Or should we use the petrol from same company? i.e. if I m using indian oil's petrol then every time i must fill indian oil's petrol?

Hi , both of them are very good bikes i am using GS150R from last 2 years quite satisfied with it and my friend has dazzler we occasionally go for small tours ,in long journey there is no match for GS150R ,both have great top end power but 6th gear of suzuki gives relaxed feeling both are good in terms of fuel efficiency but problem is he is facing some issues with his dazzler like engine tap out after reaching 100+ speeds and monoshock is completely damaged needed to be replaced ...apart from that u can go for any of them ...........

Well maintained bike. Congratulations. Wash it more frequently. Otherwise, rust will form under the mud.
Which shampoo and polish are you using?

In my opinion, HUNK is not a good selection. I am not a city rider but sometimes ride through a town where traffic is most congested and hence cannot say anything about the FE in city roads.
GS is the most comfortable bike giving the best FE in the 150 cc segment; it is sure. Ask your friend to test ride it.

Don't want to stir the old endless conterversial Engine Oil

The only excepetion on petrol is shell, but its not wise to shell out more bucks as petrol price is on peak.

Make sure your regular petrol bunk provides right quantity petrol where almost in all petrol bunks they provide you the kits to inspect the quality of petrol.

Almost most of the xbhpians here are using normal petrol either HP, reliance, IOCL etc...

Either suzuki or what ever the manufacturer company it may, they doesn't recomend any specific brand petrol because they already checked and made sure the bike will perform well with the recomended type (refer manual for recomended fuel ) petrol
