My bike has run almost 1200km's now and Just a week back i finished my second service. I had told the supervisor that the engine was rough. To my surprise, When i got my bike back, engine sound has completely changed, it sounds very refined and clear and now i can feel the smoothness of GS150R.

Hi, i am so excited, this is my first post in this forum. I got my GS150R 2010 version( Dual Color) on July. The showroom people and the SVC guys were always pressing me the fact that the bike is smooth. But i always felt that engine was little rough and grunty while i accelerate.

hey Abdul thanks for previous reply on engine vibrations in bike.Originally posted by akfara View PostYes ,but its not eating lot of watts in AC,It is connected in DC only.So u won't get advantage here...
Go for OSRAM 55/60watts as animer told ,but remove ur pilot lamp totally to get full benefits ...
now my doubt is on HID..
is it really worth doing it? becse the standard lights are so feable.sigpic

I don't have knowledge abt HID,but i can share my exp with bulb, initially i too have problem in beam focus ,after doing focus also its not enough for me , so i changed my bulb halonix to Philips premium 35/35 , so i got say 5 percent improvement then i changed my pilot lamp to LED ...another 10percent improvement... then finally changed R&R unit to CA series(only on 2010 model) then now another 25 percent increase....Still TVS star Sports win in this head light department.....Originally posted by venuvinodks View Posthey Abdul thanks for previous reply on engine vibrations in bike.

Anyway remove ur pilot lamp and change to LED ,try some other brands Like Philips or OSRAM ...But do after some time may be u get some good info in the same thread
(Philips for honda unicorn is made in Germany u also try that bulb from honda showroom(spares)

ya dude HID's are boon for night riders...but after fixing it you also have to take utmost care of the battery. i.e. not to use horn unnecessarily, not to use ES while driving at night, my friend had once used the ES on my bike while the HID was on..and the battery got drained off completely...Originally posted by venuvinodks View Posthey Abdul thanks for previous reply on engine vibrations in bike.

also fixing HID's is not a complicated job..(I think so)..
and its worth every single penny
checkout my pics to see the brightness of HID which i've fixed

Thanks Abdul and Arish
By going through your replies, i think it would be better to settle with standard light only for time being. I think i may change the bulb, i can go for osram silverstar or nightbreaker plus. whats your opinion. and still if i am not happy ill enquire some electricians about HID..sigpic

Something that i found on the internet Xenon Vs Halogen..
Now seriously wondering which bulb should i change to ?
HID Xenon vs Halogen
So how do Halogen and Xenon compare?
The table below summarises the basic comparison of a fixed 55W Halogen bulb, with a Xenon bulb of 35W (note the 40% power saving whilst there is a much higher light output).
Feature:
Feature:
HID bulb:
Halogen Bulb (H1):
Power - consumption
35W
55W
Brightness (CD)
200.000 CD
67.500 CD
Luminance (lm)
1900 ~ 3200 lm
<1000 lm
Temperature (K)
4200 ~ 12000 K
3200 K (yellow)
Life
2500 Hr sustained
200~300 Hr. sustained
The light produced by the Xenon system will give you a more "even" spread and better penetration, as well as much improved contrast and reduced eyestrain. Reflectors from road traffic signs, cat-eyes and vehicles in front of you, are picked up at much longer distances, giving you those vital "extra" seconds to react.
As per the above, Xenon is better than ordinary HID which consumes a lot of power. just 35W dont drain our batteries.

headlamp socket type
Hi
did anyone knows the socket type
Manual says 12v 35/35 H1
Want to know is it 3pin or 6pin socket
Seen a Xenon bulb which is 6 pin type
Are the below mentioned bulbs are better.

Am using Osram Silverstar 55/60W and have found it adequate for night riding including on highways. Lighting is much improved as compared to stock 35W. Have disconnected my pilot lamps from AC and connected directly to the battery for now. Thinking of replacing pilots with LEDs in due course to save on some power. Would recommend this simple mod for those looking for improvement in lighting without going for HID.
cheers!
