  • whatsoever you select my wishes

Dont decide just based on blogs you need to drive you should feel the comfort or pain to decide

Ill tell about gs coz know about it better

Test drive and choose the one that suits you. all are good bikes but not on all department.

To be frank their is no fun factor in riding bike or car thats why we need licence to drive.

My list is as given below
Fz style plus super star at street level.
Unicorn a splendor in 150cc category.
Gs150r a good commuter bike that can give 50+in city and have the biggest seat in 150cc category. A stable and strudy performance even at top 120 kmph.
Pulsar thats the oldest god in 150cc arena I dont need to tell you know it better as your neighors had many.
Apache its a deferent ballgame just speed speed and speed forget mileage sacrifice comfort it has the racing DNA.

I dont wanna tell again about dazzler but for any bike within 160cc the below said is applicable.

Good performance and fast pickup at low end means it cant do the same at top speed faster.

Damn good at city drive then it cant be the same at long drive.

Because engine can be tuned in either one way only.

What ever you choose it should be the best one for you once you are done dont look back and compare.... Best of luck

The way you talk,it seems to me that you are looking for something more than suggestions.........

I dont know if any links is there where Ladakh has been traversed on a Dazzler.
But Bunny Punia of Bike India had done Leh and Himachal Pradesh on the GS150R,I would give you the issue number of the magazine in which that article was published.

Since then the tourer bikes that Bike India recommends to people are Karizma,Pulsar220,GS150R and the Fazer.

        WHAT???

@Mach - I am fully aware of the GS's abilities as a tourer.
What I want to find out from an owner/ reviewer of the Dazzler is whether it can handle some touring and whether it is comfortable or not?

Here is a view of the Dazzler. Though dramatic, it says that it is not very comfortable: YouTube - Honda Unicorn Dazzler Revealed

Please find out the CB Dazzler ownership forum then, they would be help you there better........as I enjoy my bike and buy very much, its known that our views would be slightly biased.

So if you have any doubts about GSR you are welcome here
But if you ask us about the Dazzler we wont be able to tell you much, pls follow this link then:

Also please don't compare directly between the models,on either of the forums.....I am telling this because,it would produce some unwanted complications, every owner loves their bikes and they have a reason why they didn't go for others.

Take for example, my case,I didn't even test ride the GSR before I bought it.I was thinking of buying the RTR180 or the FZ16,and my budget for a bike of my daily use was 76000 to the max.I was never a Pulsar fan except the model Pulsar220F,but again 220F was then Rs.80,000 on road and on daily basis it wont have aided the mileage I was looking for.

Then I came across the Bike reviews by Bike India, which had our old time member Xbhpian Bunny Punia, this mag provides some accurate facts and figures and I know the way they test bikes, its awesome, they test bikes for everyone's convenience and according to common man's usage.

The GSR emerged victorious in their 150cc segment tests, got the accolade Bike Of the Year 2010,then Bunny went Leh and Himachal hoping on it,under the title Ice Conquest..........from his pen I read the words "I pushed the little 150 mill a tad too hard sometimes, but it showed no signs of protest",from a mad Karizma fan these words were more than a compliment.
Bike India also told that this bit was every bit better than the Unicorn(engine smoothness, gearshift qualities, techno gadgetry, looks and mileage),except the marketing back-up of Suzuki nothing is wrong.

So I dropped the idea of going for the RTR180-it being a racer, would be low in FE and low on daily ride comfort and long ride comfort.
The idea of FZ16 was dropped too because according to Bike India performance tests,it is slower than the GSR and its also not Fuel Efficient, and high price for being only a 150cc was not Value For Money.

I zeroed in on the GSR......blindly,running out of options..........and then discovered a masterpiece,a true masterpiece.I felt,I was back to the days of Suzuki Shogun and Fiero that made me Suzuki fan then and now again

I have ridden the Dazzler after its launch too(though Bike India said that it is rougher than the Unicorn),my close friend has bought one....and I was not satisfied with its performance at all .Afterall that friend of mine wanted to go for the GSR too,but I gave him to test ride mine,he being a thin guy and new to motorcycling found it hard to lug this 150cc beast around the city and unwillingly he wanted to go the Flame125 from TVS.Then Honda came up with Dazzler,I found it stylish, zippy and lightweight and a 150cc and recommended the bike to him.He trusted me blindly and bought the Dazzler.Despite his hue and cry now, that the Dazzler looks like CB Twister and most thinks he is riding a 100cc,I tell him to stick to it,for it is a Honda whose quality levels are as good as Suzuki itself,.......Moreover his riding style suits to the Dazzler,he doesn't go for long tours with me,he just zips around the city chasing CBZ-Xtremes and overtaking Santros and beating rowdy Auto-rickshaws.Thats all.

Whatever everyone might suggest, you would be the main person, whats good for you and what not.

          • If it comes to driving we should be awaken, aware and fully conscious more over should be ready to face and handle surprise from any side (it may be a cow or something shown on beidiotsafe.com so no fun it should be serious else we should get admitted with serious injuries.

If the road is empty and you are in a sure mode then try funny stuffs.

GS was called by reviewers as commu-tourer.

Where as they used different term for Dazzler its a good suitable term only even though I won't reveal than just refer net you can get it.

Occasional touring can be done even on a 100 cc, but the comfort level differs

            In 150cc market we have
5 bikes that shares the same honda mill (engine) but tuned differently.

So you can trust all the five and check out rite.

            CBZ extreme
            Hunk (now All new Hunk)
Achiever (no idea is it still there)
            CB Unicorn
            Dazzler

Rest of the four are cheaper than dazzler and comes with the same engine.
Also capable of Occasional or weekend touring, so why don't you give a try to rest of them.

I confused you in a point where you are almost close to conclusion.

Nah, it's not confusing anymore. Of the options you have gives other than the GS, I think the Dazzler is the best.

              • Guys, I have given my GS for MoDs at Ramkoti in Hyderabad. The mods are,

                1. Karizma Doom-4500 rs (i really hate gs's heavy handle feel and is difficult to ride in hyderabad traffic. Moreover the new pulsar 220 doom is 9k, fazeer doom is also 9k and r15 doom costs 15k rs)
                2. K&N R1100 Filter(without upjetting)-2500 rs (sound and good low end performance. RC1060 costs 1600 rs)
                3. NGK iridium spark plugs-600 rs(better combuston efficiency and long life)
                4. HID-1600 rs(chinese one without warranty. More light)
5.Free flow exhaust-1000 rs(more sound and slightly more performance)
                6. Horns (very loud with musical changer)-600 rs
                7.Red color engine neon-dono cost(looks at night)
8.Blue led parking light at front in karizma doom
9.Red led for back number plate light
10.Orange color painting for the karizma doom and the rims(not spokes) of both wheels
                10. Shell advance VSX 10w40 semi synthetic oil

                TOTAL COST- 12000 Rs

Just one question, why did you put an angry smiley after the total cost ??
I thought you'd be happy with the mods, since otherwise you wouldn't have spent on all that on modding.

In addition you better get a spitfire cable for the ngk plug, only then will you get the advantage of an iridium plug with the cable providing higher voltage and better spark.

If possible switch back to rc1060, i dont think 150cc bikes will need rc1100.

Mach bhai may help in guiding you to tune the carb richer so you can get better performance (i'm not that good at carb tuning)

Still dont understand how karizma doom will help your handling though.

great post some pics, dont know about pricing.

+1 to falcon, i think you should go for RC1060.....n which costs around 1400 rs
Consider upjetting both the Needle n main jet, as you are spending this much money upjetting will satisfy all the money invested in bike
                        3. NGK iridium spark plugs-600 rs(better combuston efficiency and long life)
ask him for 550rs ......it comes @550only, consider spitfire cable, see the grade of sparkplug yourself before delivery, please do not go for hotter plug than default...if CR7 is not available then settle for CR8..dont use CR6...

This music changer horn(14-16 combi) comes around 400 rs
                        7.Red color engine neon-dono cost(looks at night)
8.Blue led parking light at front in karizma doom
from my pt of view, blue LED wont look good on orange fairing/bike
9.Red led for back number plate light
10.Orange color painting for the karizma doom and the rims(not spokes) of both wheels

If possible switch back to rc1060, i dont think 150cc bikes will need rc1100.

Mach bhai may help in guiding you to tune the carb richer so you can get better performance (i'm not that good at carb tuning)

Still dont understand how karizma doom will help your handling though.
The karizma complete fairing will free the handle bar from the all the weights such as headlight assembly, odo meter, indicators which made the GS handle heavy to flick easily in traffic.

The cost of MSD cable i heard is huge around 3.5k rs.. so didnt change it..
As of now, i am also not going for rejetting.. just fuel screw tuning since i will be ridind 95% in traffic below 50 kmph. So the pilot jet adjusted by fuel screw is responsible for lower end fuel mixing ratio. if any problem comes after mod due to non-upjetting, i will go for upjetting next weekend.

If upjetting is needed, which bike's needle jet and main jet is to be fitted?

I went for r-1100 K&N filter because in k&n india site forum, someone has changed r1100 for GS

check this..K&N High Performance Air Filters, Oil Filters, & Cold Air Intakes

I installed a K&N R-1100 model power air filter in my Suzuki GS150R. It has an awesome engine sound and it helps in acceleration and pickup. So, I would like to thank you for making this filter. Thanks K&N........

I think that cable is around 1000-1500 bucks, not very sure though.

You can try ZMA's jet. size 125.
But dont change the jet too, just try tuning the carb, if the performance doesnt increase, only then change the jet.
Because changing the jet will make you mileage drop by a huge margin too..

Post pics when you get your bike, i want to see how the karizma doom was attached to GS tank, since the tank is big.
