    It surely does

Today I took the GSR to the fantastic N-I-C-E Expressway and in 6th gear the bike touched 100km speed at just 7000rpm. That is the upper limit for the bike till 2nd service. Even at 100kmph the bike was so silky smooth ... I love it.
100 kmph @7000 RPM.. mine doesn't do that I'm not worried either

Finally the 6th gear makes the difference if you are a long-distance traveller.

If you travel less than 10km, then even a scooter will do

I have a query to Vishnu, Sparkot, Maestro ...

I have completed 1st service and we are allowed to run upto 7500 rpm

Now what I want to ask is whether it is better to run the 6th gear at above 5000 rpm or is there any possible damage in running on the 6th gear in low rpms [ below 5000rpm ] considering the long engine life
it should be above 4k rpm.....so as to use the engine life to be optimum.....
Its been 25,000kms for me....i am doing the same....only problems i have faced till now is a suddden drop in mileage(reason found after three months and that to by a roadside mechanic....the fuel knob screw was loose which resulted in loss of petrol)

Also, is using clutch for a couple of seconds to avoid knocking sound while accelerating out of a bend a bad practice?
Dude.....dont let the bike knock on a corner....it may just stall and you will have a fall.....for corners...make sure you have proper speed while entering the corner.....and if in case you find yourself in a situation when you need to slow down.....do gradual engine deccelerating......never brake hard (front and back).....

Also it wont be a problem if you engage the clutch!!!!

Maestro, Are you still having the stock tyres or you've changed yours?
                Just curious to know.

Happy to know you're still having the stock ones..
And a little more info I needed from you., how well is these tyres at cornering..
Till now i didn't taken any sharp turns, instead I would say I'm playing a little safe with my GS., from the few incidents happened to our Xbhp GS friends I'm little hesitant to take sharp turns in the known roads which I comfortably took in my previous bike .. It had Ceat Gripp at rear and stock TVS at front and it was excellent Grippy in most of the terrains...

I'm not trying to say anything about the quality of our stock tyres..

I just want to know how is your experience and please throw your thoughts about this...

Maestro, That is a speculation based on nothing.

The tyres provide a super road grip after getting heated up by running for like 5kms....
But high speed corners are not advisable on GS due to its commuter stance seating and also longer wheel base.....while taking corners be cautious about the gravel or unevenness or liquids on road....as I have a very bad experience with the rumbler strips....which made me skid at triple digits on odo.....

I was told about this by my uncle......he was working with herohonda for 16 yrs n had experience of 7lakh+kms.....he mentioned that the bike should be in top gear above 4k rpm....for us its 6th...for him it was 4th......

No advice from my side(not to say Im an expert :P)...just questions as always.

-....sort out your suspension?? You said you had the same problems as me right? Let us know if you fix it.

-How're your brakes at 25k? When was the last time you changed your brake pads and brake fluid?

Mine is barely 8k old and feels weak now. im scared to go more than 60 in the city for want of better braking. But Im unable to stomach that possibility that my brake pads might be worn out so soon.

-Hows your clutch feeling? Do you adjust it often?
