No they didn't give me any specs as such, but they just said that there will be some mods to the old one. They also told me that they had taken in 5 booking for the bike back then. That's the reason I believed them & I posted it here, so that all SUZUKI fans know about it.

Dude, do you work at Suzuki? Or anywhere related to it? How can you be so sure that there is no new bike? The showroom which I visited is an authorized main dealer for whole Hyderabad, Saboo Suzuki.. I dont think that they would be so irresponsible to spread rumours like these. People in hyd can get as rough as soft they can be.Originally posted by vishnukmd View Post

On Saturday I inquired with a dealer via phone in Bangalore. He said they have only 2 gs150r in showroom, both gray, and if i was okay with the color, i could take one immediately or wait for next batch. Then, I asked him if a new gs150r was coming in next batch. He said if i was okay with gray, then not to wait and pick up the current one, as the new gs150r has only changes in stickering. He never denied that a new gs150r was not coming.
Okay, thats all i could get. I dont want to suggest that a new gs150r is coming, as these rumors are going around since months and ulitmately nothing seems to come up.

Will Be Really HElpFul. Waiting for your reply...
It will affect the warranty of the electrical of which the main part is the battery for which the warranty is only for one year, but not the other non-electrical parts such as fuel tank, engine and gear parts etc; I think. More than that, this modification is meant to allow more current; not to produce more voltage. So I hope it will not affect anything except, perhaps, the battery.
In my experience, this modification is not adversely affecting the battery but it may take a little more time to decide.
This thread was started on the 4th March 2009 and no one here has complained about or replaced the parts like starter motor, ignition coil, CDI, relays, headlight bulb or other bulbs etc.
I was strictly against any kind of modifications of our bike but the poor performance of the headlight made this DC conversion inevitable for me. It is not the case of GS’s headlight alone. Headlights of almost all of the bikes which do not use projectors or 55/60 watt bulbs are the same.
You are to decide what to do. If you decide to do this modification, send me a message to [email protected]. I am ready to explain it in detail.

This is not relevant here. I am sure that you know at least a little about Jupiter, the planet. But does it mean that you are living there?

I too am asking the same questions to me.

This is a problem affecting the sales of Suzuki bikes - a single dealer for a big city like Hyderabad. But what is the Malik Suzuki, I Bays Motorcycle, Dobro Motors, Midas Suzuki etc doing there? Did all these dealers quit their business?
Originally posted by bharathn View PostPeople in hyd can get as rough as soft they can be.
This is a new information which helps me to keep away from the people there. Thanks for providing this information.

This, accepting booking for a new product without disclosing what it is, is immoral and is against business ethics and more than that, against prevailing rules in this country. What product are these five persons expecting and how can they book for in advance a product without knowing what it is?

@ Vishnukmd : if you really feel that these news of a new GS are nothing but scams then why are being so bothered by it ????
Any user quoting a refreshed GS gets to be the one who is being slammed by you.Thats pretty strange considering the fact that so many dealers all over the length and breadth of the nation is saying the same thing.
The Dealers are not trying to raise the false demand by telling that the next version of GS is gonna be a 220cc bike with 21 bhp power.......never,so the prospective buyers should not get their expectations high.So where do it hurt ??
A refreshed GS150R is upcoming, now the level of refreshment remains unknown.
Everyone is expecting is something or the other from it.The only reason being is that the Suzuki which people like us know does more than "print new stickers and paste job", however if they really are starting to take such approach then I have to tell that the conservative Indian marketing atmosphere is spoiling Suzuki's attitude big time.Hell's Angel

Mach50, I did never deny the possibility of a new batch of GS with modified / different color or graphics but denied the possibility of a new GS 150R with less weight or modified engine. Please remember that the beginning of this debate or argument was about that supposed new GS.
I believe that the information I get in this matter is trustable and if it is not so, I too am being cheated by being provided with false information. That means I am not a trustworthy person.

And please remember what the Suzuki officials said to firegun (Dr. Arul) in this matter when he contacted them. If the dealers all over India except here are sure about a new GS, why are the Suzuki officials hiding this fact?
The dealer here may be one of the top sellers of Suzuki bikes who has sold more than 6000, among which about 800 is GS. He too has no information about this miraculous new bike.
As the Suzuki website is keeping mum about it, the other options we have are contacting the company officials or the dealers. Here the officials are denying the launch of any new bike. Some of the dealers too are doing the same. Some are saying vaguely that there may be modifications but they too are not able to give a correct picture.
If it is true that a company is launching a new product in the market for sale, is there any logic in believing that they are hiding that fact from the public, especially when their dealers are aware of it and they are freely spreading that news?Last edited by vishnukmd; 09-12-2011, 01:31 AM.

Buying GS
After all research and reading this thread I come to the conclusion that SUZUKI GS150R is best in class.
So, going to buy one within 15 days.
Thanks to all you guys.
one last help please...
which colour to go for?
I dont like BLUE
so,
1. Black (don't fade early and reduce the visible scratches)
2. Gray
3. Orange (looks best from all available colour but I think it won't suit me and not good as I heard that it fades easily and minor scratches also looks very bad)
Thanks in advance.High Hopes......

Yours is a clever decision. Buying GS is buying one of the best 150 cc bikes in our market.
Personally, I am against black because it fades easily. Mine is orange and I selected this color for 3 reasons: 1. I like this color. 2. My Fiero is flaming red (now it is repainted and is without any stickers). 3. This was the only bike available then.
Grey, as msb said, is a good option. Color choice is purely subjective and any color is good if you maintain it carefully by regular washing and waxing. Buy a good car shampoo and a wax (preferably carnauba wax) when you get the bike.

Congrats for being a Would be buyer of GS
As the above 2 posts suggested, go with your liking.
I initially was thinking of getting a black as it looks like a beast in flesh but heard maintaining its shine would become slightly difficult in future.
But when I saw Orange I fell in love with it..
Its a unique color and the now available dual tone looks superb.

Madhu,
As you know, I have a 2000 model Suzuki Fiero witch has then covered 1.25 lakh kms. It disappeared in a fine morning. I have reported it at the police station because I thought this stealing was by some of our afterlife paradise seeker butcher ‘brothers’ to carry bombs. (Butchering the infidel is the easiest, most effective way to book a seat there in advance; it is taught).
The auto drivers here are, as they are everywhere, very friendly and are demanding 3-4 times the charges shown in the meter.
The Fiero was regained within 10 or 12 days without the help of our ‘most efficient’ police but I was forced to buy a new bike in that period. That is my GS.
The bike is now locked in 3 ways: 1. The ‘ultra strong’ handlebar lock of the bike. 2. A piece of strong costly steel chain and 7 lever Godrej Navtal lock and 3. A XENOS two wheeler alarm.
The alarm has some drawbacks. First of all, slight vibration – even the vibration due to the passing by truck or touching of a cat or mouse or strong rain – triggers it on. Another one is the remote start facility. If not connected properly as firegun did, the bike will start even if it is in gear and the clutch lever is not squeezed. But no other drawbacks like batter draining etc.
The positive effect is this: No one will try to mishandle your bike without drawing the attention of others. If the alarm is switched on, the bike cannot be started unless it is switched off, even with the original key.
