      Hi Guys,
Wanted to change headlights connection to DC to draw power from battery directly and approached a local mechanic and he just used a wire and routed it to the headlight directly.. im not sure what he did.. but as in the picture,
      1) he cut that yellow wire and inserted a green one in between as shown in 2...and connected the same to that location shown in 3... and now the headlight can be turned on without starting the engine.

can someone tell me if this set-up is safe?.. no coil rewinding done in my case and the mechanic tells me that using my stock headlight now would drain away my battery pretty quickly!

I'm unsure what to do as my intention was to change my headlamps to a 35W LED setup similar to what (RaviRaj123) has done. If i make that change to a 35W LED which will replace a 35W Halogen, that would also drain the battery quickly is it? So confused!!!!

        Hi all,

Somehow i am not very happy with the throttle response especially while overtaking. Yesterday i rode a Dream Neo and the ease with which i could overtake the vehicles on it was awesome. When i try to overtake a lorry for instance in GS i am going with it parallely for about 5-10 seconds and then only i could over take it. There is always a fear, if i could overtake it also. Is this common in GS or something wrong with it.

What's the speed of lorry in that case?
Which gear were you in during the overtake?

The speed would be like 50-60 and gear would be 4/5th gear.

Something which i found comfortable in Neo was i could trust its acceleration while overtaking a vehicle. But with my GS, it is little sedate and i couldnt trust it.

Is it a recent development in your GS or was there from the beginning?

              ODO since last service?
              ODO since last Air-Filter, spark-plug, engine-oil replacement?

Mine is a 7-month old bike.

600 kms since my 4th service in which engine oil and air filter were replaced . Odo is currently 5500 kms.
                spark-plug not replaced yet.

I dont think this is a new development. I am experiencing this since i purchased it only.

I don't know, let's wait for experienced owners.

I too feel it at times. Perhaps that is the way a tall-geared, 150 kilo bulky bike would behave. Even though GS has good torque (low and mid?), it is known for its sluggish acceleration - in fact, Suzuki itself tried to address this in V2.0. Was the lorry accelerating while you were overtaking (unloaded ones accelerate crazily)?

Thanks. Yes may be the lorry would have been going at 50 plus. But it was just one of the instances. Whatever it may be i will have to like it as it is, and have to use it for another 10 years at least . One thing i am absolutely happy with is the suspension. No complaints!

I read somewhere in this forum like 3 years back that , we can put a rubber washer in between the silencer connecting bolts to stop the engine resonance in 3.5-4k rpm. Of late no one has mentioned about it. Is there any one still using it successfully. Like using it for more than a year and finding nil vibration in that range.

Gilbert, If am not wrong - there are 3 bearings at the rear wheel set-up. One the sprocket bearing with a superman-tough dust seal. Did you repack grease there ?

Also, did you remove the bearings (the 2 in the rear wheel) for re-packing grease because one of them (LHS) has a metal cover that cannot be removed with the usual screwdriver.
Hello Ashwanth, sorry about the late reply; I was moving house at the end of the Spring break here and right now I am typing this on a tiny table at the new place. Perhaps I was not clear about the greasing service on my GS, but as far as I know, the mechanic only greased the sprocket bearing on the back. I will have the bike thoroughly revised within 2k kilometers (probably with valve clearance adjusted), but as far as I can see, the bike is running pretty well. How about yours? Thank you for reading this!

Even after putting the washer, there won't be nil vibration but they will be very much reduced. It's a mild irritation only if you stay in the 3.5-4K range. Otherwise, just ignore it.

Lot of pending issues - potential for many DIYs and funny mishaps. My battery registered 9.96V today (fuse not blown but horn and indicators work only with engine running) - can it be recharged or its past its life (ODO is at 195xx, 3+ years old)? Am running on 600 ml of Valvoline 20W-50 + 500 ml of Shell AX5 20W-40. Not liking the mixture, feels a bit heavy !

tyres are loosing grip so Its time for tyre change.

kindly suggest good brand and tyre size.

i think it's not possible to change to tubeless.if yes kindly suggest the same.
