Adjusting the Headlight adjustment screw to its lowermost position helps the low-beam get more light on the road. found a notable difference!

i think it's not possible to change to tubeless.if yes kindly suggest the same.

The stock front tyre is 2.75 x 18. But i think someone on this forum has used 3 x 18 tyre on front without any problem.

The stock rear tyre is 100/90 x 18. Again, there are some who have used 110/90 x 18 and even 120/80 x 18 on stock rear wheel. But i would say if planning to upgrade, then 110/80 x 18 should be ideal, but this rear tyre size is only available with Pirelli. Other manufacturers do not make this size.

For bikes with 18 inch wheels, the tyre choice is very limited. I wish all Indian manufacturers could make a 110/80 x 18 tyre.

Not sure if anyone has used tubeless tyres on Gs150r, but i think it should be possible.

I had to tackle that situation a few months back. I had forgotten to take care of the battery while caring my GS. Anyway, I found the electrolytes in all the cells were too low (some where even dried up). I just topped them up and charged the battery fully. That fixed it. It seems quite healthy now. My battery is 3+ years old and clocked 21k+ on odo.

Gem of a bike. Currently own a 2010 December model GS 150 r at my hometown. Now in Bangalore and was missing the bike. Inquired the same in Suzuki showroom and they told production stopped already. After communication with NIne Suzuki Bangalore they informed that they will be bringing a bike from Mumbai which is in stock. Quite happy to purchase this one again. Price they will be confirming tonight. Just in love with the majestic stance of the bike. Now i will rebore the bike i am having at home. After almost 6 years also the bike still gives tremendous happiness when i ride. Paints faded, one side horn is not working apart from that everything is good.

I think tubeless shuld be possible as it is having alloy wheels, go for 110/80 *18 or 110/90 * 18 tyres at rear. It will give good grip and good stance to the bike. Once i enquired about the same with a MRF delearship and it was readily available (110/90*18) but that time my tyre was in fairly good condition and opt out of that....

Sure Thanks. Will check this out.

Now, I have completed 6k kms this week.

I would say i am nicely settling into a riding style which keeps my bike between 4k-5k rpm at any gear, most of the times. This is helping me to get across the engine vibration at 3.5k rpm , and improve initial acceleration.

Another thing is I sit much closer to the tank now, which helps in handling and gives confidence while cornering. Also suspension feels better as i am little far from the back wheel.

            Thought of sharing this.

I read 35 pages of this thread and compared to the first 35 pages of the Fiero thread, what is being discussed is utter nonsense. Grow up guys, there is so much of important and useful stuff that can be posted. Even the Hero Honda CD100/Splendor thread is full of so much useful stuff.

Thanks to the help i got from this forum, especially from Ashwanth, I got my trip-meter button replaced yesterday. I followed up with the dealers here in Bangalore, by sending them the spare part number, and at last i got it yesterday and it costed just 7 rupees. Earlier the dealer was saying, i have to replace the entire set which would cost 4.5k. Thanks guys for your help!

You are Welcome buddy ! Actually, even I was under the impression the speedometer is sold as a unit. But, Anand (Black_Panther) pointed it out - the buttons are sold separately if required, but, the SVC can order the whole unit as in repairing accident-damaged vehicles. Thats the reason why the whole unit is one part number and the buttons also have their own part numbers.

Did you purchase another one as spare for future use?

Tell you what, my bike's acceleration has improved a lot after setting it in Eco/power mode. Earlier i was running it in blank mode for about 6k kms, as it was given by the showroom with that setting. In one of the earlier posts, an user named rharish90 had mentioned about this.

Now my issues with acceleration and handling are resolved. My only major issue now is that engine resonance at 3.5 k rpm. Could someone post a picture which shows where and how exactly the rubber washer has to be fixed. I searched in earlier posts, and found the picture to be deleted or not visible.

                          Rharish90's post below.

There are three modes in the bike. Eco, Power and the blank mode. I was riding on this blank mode for a long time and my speeds and mileage was less. If you set it to Eco or Power mode, the CDI mapping changes and the bike will be set accordingly. I set it to ECO and the mileage jumped from 45 to 55 with the same style of riding. On the highway, I set it to Power. It touched 100 in a blink of an eye. Its a real fast bike in Power mode. I can cruise effortlessly at 100 - 105 all day and still get 40 KMPL mileage. Earlier 95 was like the top end. Fully crouching and favourable roads and wind would push it above 100. Now 100 seems to be the cruising speed! You might get more speeds easily. I weigh 105 and that would be a big factor in this.

ECO, PWR and 'GOD' modes do nothing with the ignition firing curves - they simply alter the behavior of the "time to shift-up!" LED on the speedometer console. CDI mapping doesn't change - at least in my personal experience. I run on PWR mode all the time - mileage is the same 55-60 kmpl. For the exhaust mounting rubber - search for Sparkot's posts.

                              Hi All,

My headlight, flash, parking lights stopped working since yesterday evening. Took to one local mech. He was not able to figure out the cause. He said current is not coming to the headlight area.

It was working well the previous night. The mech says coil might have gone and need to replace. He asked to give it to the service station itself.

The only change I made before the light stopped working was:
                              1. The bike was kept in rain and it fell down due to the mud became wet under the side stand. Water might have gone in somewhere?
                              2. I changed the engine oil and replaced with Castrol (320 INR).
                              3. Adjusted the focus screw behind the headlight assembly.

Not sure if any of the above caused this or something else.
                              How much a coil cost.
My bike has run 37k kms and it is 1.5 years old now. What might be the possible cause?

I recently changed the back tyre to Ceat Vertigo Sports (100/90/18) tubetype. It costed 2200 INR. It has very good grip so far. Does not skid as it used to do with the stock MRFs.

I think you should check the wires that go to the HL/PL unit first - might have dislodged from their actual position - Did your mechanic try that? My low beam too stopped working after taking a pothole at 60. So, mechanical shock due to fall could be a reason. If there was excess water/moisture in the connectors, the lights will work but would be erratic.
