  • Reg. NEW GS150R

I called one showroom of suzuki and visited another.
I asked about the NEW GS150R.
They both told me, "There is no any conformation regarding new gs150r. all are just rumors and if it is true then also there is no any possibility of launching NEW GS150R before 2012."
    High Hopes......

This is what some of us said earlier. The same is the possibility of new higher cc bikes and scooters. Some leading dealers were planning to import it directly with the help of Suzuki but that plan too seems to be dropped.

If you are interested in GS, try to buy it from some other dealers.

The showroom guys asked me to pay 1000/- & book the new GS150R bike. They are pretty sure about the new bike, otherwise they wouldn't have suggested me to book!

Then, surely book it and post here the details of that new bike you are to get from them. It will be a unique one, exclusively made for that dealer and, you the first to get it!
Did that dealer give you any specifications of the new GS and are you sure that it is Suzuki product and not made in a smithy shop there?

All dealers from every corner of India cannot be unified for the one common cause of proving you wrong Vishnu, it is too bad that you are not informed about this from your dealer or there is some drastic attempt at denial of some facts if you might know more than all the dealers.

Suzuki upcoming products in a gist :

1.Facelifted GS150R - launch time, within a month and a half,if coming with an engine upgrade then might be sold alongside the current GS150R or else replaces it.
2.Slingshot 100cc - December launch rumoured but the bike is confirmed.
3.GW250 - India launch imminent, but availability of the bike at all dealerships under question and to be considered very carefully, its availability maybe like that of Ninja 250R(only found at Bajaj Probiking in major cities).

Mach50, Please know that I have nothing to loss or gain incase Suzuki launches any of their existing, modified or new bikes here in India as my profession is, directly or indirectly, not connected with automobiles.

I am not sitting in front of my computer and typing whatever is coming in to my mind. Or I am not asking questions and giving answers myself. I may perhaps be the first person posting here months ago about a new GS with modified fuel tank. All of us know what happened later. The tank is remaining the same. Then, something was heard about a special edition GS. I didn’t see any of it on the road.

There may be a new batch of GS with different graphics as in the case of 2009 and 2010 model ones. None including the dealers knew about this change in advance.

As far I know the minor design flows like the roaring sound of this bike is rectified in the latest batches. This too was without any prior notice but was after collecting opinions/feed backs from the dealers.

This is what I know about in this matter:

                1. New GS – Absolutely no possibility. But there may be slight differences or improvements in the new batches. Changing the moulds of a bike needs crores of money. The bike is not hand made by a blacksmith, using a furnace, anvil and hammer.

                2. I don’t think this company is insane enough to market a new 100 cc bike here, that too in the name of SlingShot. The present SlingShot itself is a fast moving product, at least in some parts of rural India. Here too, as I said, making the moulds for a new bike is not easy as our I T I (Industrial Training Institute) students do in their forging workshop.

                3. The next speculation is about the 250 cc bikes. Some dealers who were sure about the market of this bike here were planning to import it themselves if they get some tax exemption from Govt. and technical support from Suzuki here. I am not sure about its current position but I think it is in deep freezer.

I am a poor Satanist who cannot predict anything but these are the possibilities. But if you are sure about these new bikes, let us wait for it. And, for the sake of my health, I think it is better to keep away from this debate in future.

                  .
Pl tell me on how to find out the production/ manufacturing date of my bike.

                  My frame no is MB8NG49AL8114121
I was told by my dealer while selecting the bike tat the 11 denotes the 2011 bike batch. But contrary to that in my RC, MFG date is given as 11/2010.
Would the bike take 7 months to reach the consumer????

It is a code which you cannot decode. Trust the RC.

                    • Guys,

For re-registration of my bike i needed chasis number pencil print of my GS. It is a lot tuffer excercise in my case. chasis print not in a good shape and cables which made taking chasis print is very difficult .

Please ensure your chasis number is clear on your bike, in my bike it is not clearly visible there are other marks on this number.

The dealers told me about a new gs150r about 7 months ago and i reported it on this website. And some days later, those white gs150r images also surfaced on the Internet. Ultimately, nothing happened. And people like me got scolded with choicest words for spreading rumors. The fact is that the dealers are the ones who gave us this info of new gs150r.

Dealers are always happy to take a booking amount. Later they will tell you that the current gs150r is the new one.

As per some honda dealers, Dazzler production has stopped and they dont take booking for it. But some dealers take booking for dazzler with 30 days waiting, and later when you inquire status after some days, they will say dazzler production has stopped, so change your booking to unicorn and wait another 3 months again. That is how dealers work.

Anyway, regarding facelifted gs150r, lets hope its true, but i have less hopes though.

Hey, it definitely does not take 7 months for a bike to reach the customer, unless its stored in some godown for 6 months.

I got my bike the same month/year it was manufactured but that was back in 09.

But if you're worried, i guess its not a problem for a bike to be in godown for 7 months because they disconnect the battery and i guess it should be fine.

Why are you over bothered about the month of manufacturing of the bike? I have seen a red coloured Ford Figo petrol car laying in their showroom here for months. The problem was its colour, but later someone did buy it.

If your bike is OK, forget the date of manufacturing.
