  • Just completed 3 rd service and 4,800 odo , bike is becoming smoother and smother , one thing is annoyng however is notchy gears , prior to this service 1100 kms odo back i had changed oil with elf motogold which gave superb performance little viby feeling & soundy exhaust note though but gear shifts were almost soundless and reponsive & precise.
Now with stock oil back engine is smoother but gears are little notchy , 1000 more kms down the line and next will be Motul , regarded by most as one of the best oil for GS. Hope that will clear the issue.
That soft khat khat sound still exist , but softer ( probably new oil ) , SC guys speculate balancer shaft sound and not tappet or swing arm. as it is resistive to movements and to meet that rpm , hence the sound . for some time , i will try to ignore it.

why u r directly connecting ape rr yellow wire to battery instead of connecting with red wire which comes from stock rr? i checked the wiring diagram, this red wire goes to battery...
Yes both are same...I made the electricals in way w/o cutting any stock wires.. So that at any situation if I require to swap to stock, I can do it easily.. And it helped me at the 1st attempt when I did wrongly with the un-insulated copper wire.. That's why continued that procedure..

That is what Magesh has done. See pictures 3, 5 and 6. The Yellow wire from the Ape RR is extended with a piece of red wire and is connected to the red wire from the stock RR to the battery through the fuse.

It is said to be a miraculous oil, eliminating all sounds from engine. Try it as early as possible.

He is a great mechanic who easily diagnoses the cause of sound. If he is sure, why is it not replaced under warranty?

But from the pictures it seems that the +ve of Ape RR is connected to the battery through the fuse as suggested by kripscorp.

Yes that's what I tried to convey.,
He is asking why I didnt used it at the stock RR socket end itself...

That makes no difference if the end of the red wire is not grounded accidently.

If somebody could able to point out the wires..it'll be very helpful for many..

Hi, is there any update regarding blue LED ?

I got a voltage divider IC, that I'll use it to reduce 12v to 6v. Just want to check whether that blue LED glows in 6v DC.

              Soon, I'll update the result.

Here in chennai I was quoted 2800rs ,along with its outer shell...
I was given a quote of 2000/- but ultimately got it for 750/-......(Sourced from chor bazaar)

@all...small update regarding the projector upgrade

it works brilliant in city and people do turn their heads to look at it.....

BUT for highway the reflector is not providing enough illumination(this might be due to psychological reasons as the eyes are used to bright white light and the yellow light stands nothing...)
So, now planning to get one more projector and plonk it with current projector......

                  Thats a good deal...
Your Osram NB+ is not yellowish like normal bulb right.,it's little whiter isn't it.. Anyways wishes for your next MOD...
Maestro, can I get the size(diameter) of the reflector..

I sincerely apologise for not spending time with testing.. Seriously couldn't find time to open the cowl..Little busy with my ride..
Using a 6v DC wont make difference ,krupa.. As I said earlier there will be a diode/LED alone in reverse direction which prevents the +ve volt to pass through..
If you can able to open the console for testing, track the circuit ,it'll give clear idea..

It gives a slight white tint when placed against a normal halogen.....normally you wont be able to tell the difference in colour of beam though....
                      Thanks for the wishes....
Also which reflector's dia do you want....GS or CBR or P220?

Which Motul( type ,brand ,model) , i will go with mineral only, no semi/synthetics.

I had informed them about warranty , they told it is common with all motorcycles ( lazy attitude, common reason), if problem perists and increases i will force them to check throughly for next service & clear it.

man.. if there is a diode, then blue light should not glow at all. but in my bike its blinking and goes off... so i doubt there would be a diode or not. somewhere i read that dc is 2 times of ac. so reducing 12v to 6v.. just trial and error.

Is it OK if I do my first service and subsequent services from another SC other than from where I bought the bike. The city will be changed.
